This is, without a doubt, a divine example of what Heaven must sound like..I played this piece in 2010 as a Senior at an Honor Band Clinic..Principal Horn. This piece is unforgettable.. I thank God for allowing me to experience this. It reflects such a pure, youthful time in my life..before innocence was stolen.. and I remember playing this with a face full of tears. This piece showed me the magic that is within all of us.. souls from all walks of life, coming together to create something greater than ourselves is truly magical. God Bless Jan Van der Roost for composing this Golden piece..it changed my life and continues to give me hope in a world so cold. Blessed Be.
Cadets played this in their Stonehenge show - I wrote to Mr. Van der Roost and told him how beautiful his music was - he was kind enough to respond. I was surprised and happy. I still have the email.
i play solo euph for my colleges brass band, and i think that this is my favorite song that we are playing currently. find a brass band arrangement!!!!! so phenomenal
The Euphonium part is SO sweet!! I played this piece my 12th grade year (1993-94) in the All-City Honor Band Clinic (Columbus, GA) on Euphonium. On the soli sections (yes, there are sections on the Euphonium part), I played the lower notes and a guy named Eulas Horne IV played the top notes where divided. Our Euphoniums were in complete synch. RIP, Eulas.
During class, we started too lond and or band director said "You Just Raped Jan Van der Roost!!!!" I love this song but I can never look at it the same way....

The fact that there are three different languages being used in the comments section is only the first hint that this is going to be an awesome piece.

TROMBONES!! RULE
@2012sharpy The Iowa High School Music Association has it listed at a grade 2.
Even the section in Cb Major, the English Horn part, and the trombone parts with all the ledger lines?
JW Pepper gives it a "medium", so I'd say 3.5 to 4.5 (mainly b/c if one section majorly screws up, it's done).
Generally speaking, it's ranked as a Grade 3 by the publishers.
I envy you, in our orchestra we don't have bassoon.
Episch... wow:) bald von der Kappelle Ahaus zu höhren
0:23 Is that a car horn right there in the background? :D
More like English horn
ist das eine Oboe am Anfang spielen?
