Kentucky man uses flamethrower to clear snow from driveway

- Video of a man in Ashland, Kentucky using a flamethrower to melt snow and ice on his driveway went viral on Christmas Day.
The footage - shared more than 850 times on Facebook as of Dec. 27 - shows Timothy Browning wearing a white bathrobe, socks, slippers and a helmet and wielding a flamethrower on a snowy driveway. In the video,
Browning chugs a beer before throwing the can on the ground in the video while sweeping flame on the icy driveway.
"I thought it'd be funny for a video and wanted to clear off the under layer of ice on the driveway," Browning told Reuters by Facebook message.

babydollgoddess you would need an awful lot of salt to keep that from freezing. Ever had a deep thaw then freezing over night just to wake up to an ice rink even tho you salted?

Heated driveways are horridly inefficient and abysmal wastes of money and energy. A simple commercial flamethrower is nothing in comparison to the cost and impact on both your wallet and environment compared to one of those stupid driveways.

Not a bad idea. I don’t think it will damage the driveway and it’s quick. I wonder how much fuel is uses for that driveway. Sometimes being buzzed or drunk can give you creative and new ideas and sometimes not .
Much more damaging than salt due to the temperature changes and refreezing later on.. not to mention expensive

actually it's not a smart idea because the change in temperatures can cause the pavement to crack and he's also using that thing near wood stairs and stuff which is not safe

Any links to where to buy a similar flamethrower? All I can see to find is those flame torches used to burn weeds. The flame on those goes about 2-6 inches.
