@@DongWang-m4n because it takes pressure off of the drag discs and if you leave it at that drag for too long it won’t be as smooth. It will vary the spool will spin fast hit a spot then spin slower. It’s not a huge deal until you’ve hooked the fish of a lifetime and it gets away cause your drag was jerky and not smooth.

In the fall the st joe river Kalamazoo river and grand river all have healthy runs of coho and kings. There's some steelhead opportunity on the east side of the state along with a good chance at Atlantic salmon.
Shoot! I used to love the Ocuma SST, but I gave up on that rod, kept breaking them. Ironically the last one broke landing a giant carp in the tail water of a low barrier dam on the Huron River upstream from Flatrock Mi.

I love using the bobber if it possible to use. I just got into bobber fishing for steelhead this year and did really well in northern california. maybe when I visit my cousins in chicago, I'll bring some of my gear. good video and cool gold fish you caught 😂

Is a 22 pound king salmon from Lake Michigan good. My dads friend took my family fishing and we all had designated rods and for my first salmon I got a 22 pounder so I was wondering if that was good or average.

Would a1oz weight work or has to be a 4 Oz weight ? Circle hook or straight shank hook. Size hook 10, 4, 2, 1/0, 6/0 to make a fishing video you have a long way to go. Just 8-10lb line. Don’t need much for cohos. The skein doesn’t float much but the current will pick it up and blow it around a little. If you use spawn bags tho u can add floats to help keep it off bottom
Caught an 18 1/2 incher about two weeks ago on a spinner. Had my SBS long sleeve on when I got it 👌🏼.

That’s why you should always store your reels with the drag loose for long periods of time, then tighten them properly when using them
