Fitton Hill was once the southern terminus of the (B later 421) route. It then ran to Middleton Junction- a 30 minute journey. This route was cut back to Sportsman's Arms, Broadway in 1968. Later when it became the 425 the route completely changed to cater for Holts Estate. There was another variant-the 423. It's a pity they have truncated the route so much and reduced the timetable to 30 minutes. We had a 10 or 15 minute service before they altered the route-when this B network came in. We lost out badly on the southern section, especially when they ve routed the service up Ashton Road insted of following the same route as the inward journey at Rosary Road.
