Nerves of steel there, Chris. The Pro is now looking like the quad we always wanted its older sibling to be. Totally agree about Sport (!) Nice Video, I think it's the 3rd or 4th time I've watched it. Got a question, do you know which FC your Zino Pro was on then? I'm slowly getting tired of the lady's voice and warnings and noticed the peace and quiet of your app, so which FC and which Android app gets rid of that pesky voice?
I would have to go back and look at my log notes but it is one of the first versions. Problem is they force you to update now so the app will just keep telling you to update for better flight experience.
Roger on that. Doing fine with FC 1.0.16 and app 1.7.7 Let's you click cancel and no more pop ups till the next program start. No forced updates.

Did u edit in post or change your settings? Your colors look way better than any zino 1 videos I’ve seen, usually the greens and blues are way too saturated. Or does the zino pro just have a better color science?

I just set the setting to what I think looks good for that day and now we have even more settings to tweak so my videos will most likely look like crap now. lol I never adjust or edit them afterwards just so I can show how it was from the quad without editing.

Nice review. One thing I've observed, is that in most zino pro videos plus mines it would go into RTH around 2.7km to 3.2km based on battery percentage, but will go beyond 4km by canceling RTH and pushing it further coming home at 10% battery or less. Seems the software is trying to bring it back with 25% - 20% battery remaining which is around storage volts/cell. The wind factor is the thing I usually check before flying over 3.5km distance and have been the distance about three times. Your approach to fly into the wind was key, great test.
A tip for long distance is: Once powered up and ready to fly, take off and go the distance. Don't waste battery hovering around, playing with the settings, having the quad sit with the power on until your ready, etc... Batteries aren't the best and I get 15 to 18 minutes on a full charge.
Honestly no matter the wind direction I was going to head out like that either way. lol Once I'm there I'm there to do what ever I can for the flights plan of the day so had the wind been the other direction I would have been scratching my head and walking circles on the return flight. I have been flying long range for a good while so I'm pretty good at pushing the limits normally. Things like wind and trying to plan you content for the viewers as you do it can distract and take away from the plan or things like the battery. I have the Anafi, Fimi X8 and mavic pro 2 figured out to where I can or could return on 0% which I have a video or two of here as well. Thanks :)

Subbed... nice video. I’ve had my Zino Pro for a bout a week and love it. My max distance is about 4600ft so far then I lose connection. Probably the trees I duno. I have a parabolic range extender on the way from China... should get it in about a month. Curious to see if it makes a difference. Also in this test did you have the FPV set at HD or Normal? From what I have tested so far normal mode gets more distance. I need to test it more I could be wrong. Also I wonder how long it’s gonna take for the new 5000ma battery to get back in stock?
I was in HD I think but don't know that it makes a lot of difference. Something I never paid much attention to because I fly where I get good range on a bad day. Parabolic's help aim the signal but obstructions will still win in the end. The new battery is on pre-order so it's hurry up and wait right now...

I have been eyeing this drone for a couple of weeks now. I have the MJX BUGS 4W and it's a good drone but no 3-axis gimbal makes the video very shaky. So, I'm gonna upgrade to this drone but I'm taking into count of watching as many videos about it as possible so I can make sure that this is the drone I want to purchase. Thank you for showing off its distance and recording quality.
I also have the Bugs 4w and a Pro The pro is a good drone for the money and it flies good also I'd watch Captain Drone and Dustin Dunnill they are both very helpful as well as Chris

Jealous of the focus on your camera, I still haven't taken mine apart to adjust the lens, not excited about it - but first need to figure out the 0x0080 gimbal error - it crashed and I'm guessing one of the cables is shot? Are you still doing repairs? This video was great - I'm on Lake Ontario and have been wanting to fly out over the water but really haven't had the guts to so far. Thanks for all the great videos.
ap14rcf70 Yes, I repair a bunch of them. I have one shipping out near you tomorrow as a matter of fact. In the past months I have been doing 3 to 5 Zino’s of all 3 models a week.
Most likely you are in need of a gimbal cable with that error.
@@QCGUY Looking at the parts list www.hubsanus.com/zino-pro-parts.html - is the gimbal cable listed? Looks like the whole gimbal itself is not available.
ap14rcf70 Sorry, deleted the first comment to not confuse you. Hubsan doesn’t list much of anything for sale especially for the pro.
They don’t and never have sold the cable but Aliexpress does.
They sell the gimbal as well but I can’t say much about that because I have never had a case where I need a complete replacement since I rebuild them.
There’s a few different Zino gimbal cables so if you buy them make sure you’re getting the right one. I have a video talking about how to identify the cable you need here on my channel.

It all depends on location. In this are I get good signal with less interference but other locations can be even better or worse. I have gone farther then the advertised range since. Thanks
Well, I don’t know, but in fact I am not convinced by this analysis about the different range results.

FYI, I had a incident where I lost connection on a way point flight, due to obstructions. RTH worked as designed, ZP returned home.
After a few minutes of wait and see.

Hi, I've got a zino pro not flown yet due to the UK weather but I've noticed on many of videos including this one that the top left part of the video is out of focus and slightly blurry which is the same on many of zino pro videos I've watched.
I hadn't really noticed because I am trying the Hubsan filters so anything I have seen I blamed on those. I will check without the filter. Thanks

Nice drone. Not the best flight time though, 14 minutes with 25 % left. I noticed the battery percentage drops in a irregular manor. Probably normal with this not being a smart battery. You stayed at 25% for almost 2 minutes at the end. There was one time, when you were at around 55%, that it dropped 1% every couple of seconds until it reached 50%.
Yes they aren't known to be the best batteries but with the issues they show in age I think they are playing around with things giving false readings because it never had that steady fast drop and then all of a sudden a slow drop. My Zino and Zino Pro are both doing this even with a new battery or the new 4200mAh battery.

Was it a bit unassuring when you went out about 3km on 45% battery with 7-8m/s speed then luckily the wind was on the drone side coming back due to increase speed of 9m/s BUT would it end differently if the wind suddenly moved in the opposite side against your drone in coming back at the same wind speed? The same battery on the pro with the zino shows thats it is almost capable to do the 8km total distance if the wind was on your drone side, maybe short about 1km from total distance? How about the firmware update procedure on this Pro and its advertised improved camera and controller sticks sensitivity? Thanks for your usual informative videos!
I was pretty comfortable with it and my decision was based on the wind and knowing that area. The wind is always in that direction there and as predictable as the water that flows in the same direction below it. Wind always plays a factor and you adjust or make decisions accordingly. I could have gone more but a zino going this far is still new to me so like my others I test it a little further each time and preferably in calmer conditions. The firmware updating is currently the same but with a new install tool. I don't think they have it figured out yet to use the update by app feature.

Do you mean buying a zino pro or trying to upgrade your zino to turn it into a pro? I only ask because a lot of people think this is a easy task to do but it's not something I would do. I do recommend buying the pro though.

Bernard I didn’t think the zino pro was worth another $200AUD for me so got a standard zino
Bernard Not really unless the range is important to you. The main and only reason I would recommend it over the pro is that it’s got the newer hardware and the focus of Hubsan will be more on that moving forward.
The Zino has good solid firmware now and is good where it is with no real need for updates.

@@QCGUY its cool to keep it metric...just for us...the european viewers somtimes...as it is hard to recalculate the drone speed...hight. etc....can the drone speed be shown at km/h instead of m/s ??

I started out with a Mavic Pro as my first gimbal quad and have more lesser quality than anything else and enjoy them. I enjoy the Zino's quite a bit. There are a ton of accessories but maybe best to join a group on faceboook to see them and what people think of them.
I can see this hobby becoming an expensive obsession.
not necesserly... every time i take my litlle like 25$ drone out...i got excited .....of course...apsolutly not comaprable with those more expensive ones....but that one in the video absolutly wins over the DJI ones in my opinion...just for the price

My zino pro only get to 772.4m in distance and the total milliage is 1441.7m, is it because of the buildings and trees and phone poles? And i also just updated the firmware this morning
jay nelson yes these things can interfere with flight range and performance. Flying in some of the same conditions I can only get about 1200 meters. Avoiding as much of these interferences as possible will give you better performance.
That return home used far less battery than going out. The more videos I watch on this thing in combination with the price coming down, make me want to buy one. I blame you, Chris 😂🤣

Very nice but, I don't get why people don't do the urban range test first. That's what matters most.
For me I have many places like this to fly and doing TH-cam content it is nice to go and do it where it is safe and away from distractions called people.

Hello QC Guy, In the past I have had trouble using my drone in cold weather? Is there a low temp that you cannot use that particular drone, Husband Zico Pro?

I was considering getting the hubsan zino pro as my first drone but i have some concerns like the low max speed and the lack of sensors. Would you recommend the pro? Or would you recommend something else in the same price range?

All Things Tech It’s with a filter that kinda sucks compared to others on other quads plus the flight out was being scorched by the sun and it’s reflection.
We have basic settings and different situations are hard to set up for.
I didn’t put much effort into video but will try to set it up better to see if it is the quad or something I did.
Hubsan Zino Pro while in flight received a phone call and lost connection with phone lost video feed . Will the Hubsan work with the phone in Airplane Mode to stop this from happening in future? The Airplane Mode turns off the wifi. Does the Zino Transmitter need the phone wifi to operate? Being that the Pro uses LEAS in stead of WiFi? Thank You Guys In Advance
Bomberomusician You don’t need the wifi but I just put mine in do not disturb mode.
@@QCGUY Thank You . Another quick question. When using Waypoint is the drone being flown from above or is the drone still communicating with the transmitter? Basically I'm asking does the transmitter have to see the drone during Waypoint Flight? Will obstructions between transmitter and drone cause disconnection?
Bomberomusician It’s will continue flying the waypoints as that is a programmed flight unless you’re battery gets too low or total loss of signal for a period of time. I don’t fly waypoints but I think I am correct on the second part.

Not touching the firmware till it's settled into something they want to stick with. There are too many versions during the release so that tells me they are figuring things out still.

jwo jiunn Kon Definetly get the Mavic Mini over the Zino. It’s was to much fun and the picture quality is good. I would say I’m torn because one of my friends has the Zino and I have test flown the Mavic Pro. The obstacle avoidance sensors are nice.
With that being said, I’m staying with DJI If I can afford it. Getting a Mavic Pro next since they are cheaper since the 2 is out.
How come the video quality looks worse than in the non pro version?
Should i buy pro or non pro?
Mr. Viceroy Just needs s update and they have been good about the camera updates. My quality in manual settings isn’t always best to judge by though.

Based on the videos iv'e seen, seems kind of a lottery to get a perfectly focused lens. But that is not a big deal because it seems to be fairly easy to fix.
Mr. Viceroy It’s not as many as you may think. The firmware needs some camera quality fixes so a lot assume it’s out of focus and a lot are giving poor information. I have two pro’s and no focus issues.

Mavic Mini is Great , Great LITTLE DRONE
YET somewhat limited to what u can do, but every Drone is with in its limits. Hubsan was what got my full Attention to this new hobby way back, I'm find myself gravitating towards Hubsan Zeno Now Pro and I would be able to afford some
ND Filters.Footage looks Great to me .I thinking if I do want to move that way sooner I sale Mini better, while Market is not saturated, and A Beginner would not be left wanting what extra weight brings. I need a educated opinion I maxed Mini out, what would you recommend PLUS I no hear about a heck of a fellow that can work on Zenos like It Rare to find that ,in the State's! Why does range matter when you have to fly visual line of sight?
It's just testing what manufacturers claim or say it will do is all. Here I do not fly LOS and I do enjoy flying long range in these areas.

@@jwtfpv8957 I don't know of the top of my head but have seen one or two posts where people have this setup. It's not worth the investment to me. I would just try searching TH-cam and groups. I'm surprised there isn't a lot of people doing this yet.

mine zino pro fell out of the sky on a full charge it flew for 3 minutes tried to contact the company and never got a response in short fuck this drone
That’s typical unfortunately...
They see certain problems and don’t respond or look into it. Customer service is part of what gives them a bad name.

Why do people insist on launching or catching these things by hand? That's so bad. Those blades will fuck you up if you do it wrong. Very irresponsible. Teach good quadcopter operation instead of trying to be a cool dude.
twitchosx I’m not forcing anyone to do it. I have been doing it for years and never been bit. Practice commenting without saying the F word and trying to be cool yourself!
Is it so hard to simply say you don’t think it’s safe and don’t advise it? Start putting content out yourself to advise people of what you deem the safe ways to operate quads are and deal with the comments from people that like to come right out of the gate in the manor you chose.
@@QCGUY I apologize for coming off the way I did. I was probably drunk and got upset because I saw another guy reviewing a Zino and Mavic Mini do the same thing, and it's just so damn unsafe. Especially for those that are new to the hobby and think that these are toys. Thats all.
@@twitchosx No problem....I know it is something that could cause injury but it's what I do and have done for a long time now. I have in the past warned people or told them I don't advise this but the same can be said for a lot we do in this hobby. Thanks for clearing that up....
