    It is nice to see how back then people from both parties valued the accomplishment which is not only presidents but all of us.

      Exactly, a time when we were all united than divided.

    Perhaps he deserved a 2nd term as president, and not his son.

    • @aaronwilliams6989
      @aaronwilliams6989 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Neither one deserved a second term. Bush 1 wouldn't fix the economy, which was mired a protracted recession.

    Not an expert myself,but with much respect to everyone's opinion,i feel i should note that a person's race,economic class or anything else should have nothing to do with his (or someday,) her performance as a leader

    I can remember listening to this while sitting on my cot in my tent over in Saudi Arabia. I thought great I can go home soon. Soon turned out to be July 20, 1991.

    This is exact speech is when any nation, any power was at it's most powerful ever on earth.
    The Bushes knew the power of American foreign policy, I wish future candidates would know how to use it.

    He was a good man and worthy president. He picked Powell as Chairman over many others and sought to have congressional approval for his policies.

    @BorgHub Then we'd have Operation Iraqi Freedom earlier, when we didn't have international terrorism to butress public opinion.

      What are you talking about? You’re thinking of his sons war in Iraq. The older Bush’s war was an incredible success. They didn’t have questionable goals like the younger Bush did, they had specific goals and they got them done in less than two months, and had a successful exit.

    • @manipulatortrash
      @manipulatortrash ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no, it did. HW bush had tremendous success and his speech on why he didn't invade iraq further cements his legacy as a wise president. His son on the other hand was not so smart.

    @jadeyes914 He was a pretty great man, World War II hero and self-made man. Not a great president, but a smart, respectable man. Still sky dives on his B-day at over 80!

    Hercheal: well, *clears throat* out of my way Blitz
    Blitz: HEY
    Hercheal: now, your probably wondering why I am here, it's because i and 15 of the 700 members of the Imperial Guamanian Congress will like to talk about the state of the IGE, and folks it is not good at all, but, as you probably guess we are gonna temporarily not give recourses to you and those recourses will be pumped into the development of our first 6th generation fighter jet *turns on projector that shows what he is talking about* it's the SLNN-96, wonder why it's similar to the STAT-222A fighter jet, well its because that through the 20 years, over 6K spies and espionage Agents dug up 700K files for the STAT-222A design, and over the last 87 years, I was an ace pilot, a global superpower, and the moment operation green dragon commenced on February 4th, until that time, guns fell silent at midnight one week ago, as Commander And Chief, I can report to you, our Armed Forces, Fought with Honor and Valor, and as President, I can report to the nation, aggression is defeated, the war is over
    Audience: *begin to cheer in support for Hercheal*

      The original war in Iraq (that he’s talking about) was the biggest success since WW2. It was done flawlessly. The 2003 Iraq war was a completely different war. One was an overwhelming success, the other was a failure. They were over a decade apart. You’re literally talking about a different war

    BTW this guy who helped saddam stay in power when the Iraqi people rised up against him. So this is totally BS.
