Big fan of Adam Conover. He would be good for the Daily Show

Adam is great, but he has a show… Roy Wood Jr. needs to be the Daily Show’s next permanent host IMO.

@@nessamaine I'm biased towards Hassan, He's been so awesome for how little time we had him. But Roy Jr. Definitely deserves it--if only for his loyalty to the Channel for all these years.

@@aneru9396 Did this video not teach anything about "loyalty" and how it should NOT be something we prioritize with our employment?

After his show being ruined (pun intended) let's leave him doing his thing and support him directly.

+1 for validating Adam Conover with Lovett's improved thoughts on Elon Musks.

The previous writer's strike mention reminds me of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog 😁 th-cam.com/video/Of9kHpCv1ts/w-d-xo.html

Writers should get paid the most. It’s insane they don’t.

On movies they are practically not allowed on the set of the script they wrote! The movie I worked on, HOLES for Disney, had the writer there the whole (pun intended) time. The result: a "simpsons" level world building but in a movie.

Writers don't put butts in seats. Their value to the overall production is not really in doubt. You NEED a writer. You NEED a boom operator. On a big enough project you NEED a second unit director. A script coordinator. An assistant director. Etc.
But those essential positions don't put butts in seats. The reason that The Rock gets paid a gajillion dollars per picture is because movie investors believe that you and I are x amount more likely to see a movie because it stars Dwayne Johnson.
There are zero writers working today who have so much mass market appeal for audiences that the presence of that writer will influence their decision making.
We, as sane and smart people, know that writers have a disproportionate impact on a production's quality in a way that another essential role (such as makeup and production designer) does not. But since any given writer has a dubious or (to accountants) abstract effect on a project's success or failure, studios have always rolled their eyes at the idea that writers should be paid more.

I always look for the writer on a movie to see if it's someone with an agenda so I don't have to sit through some morality play from some nutjob's worldview. Especially when it's adapted from another work, like a novel.

The show wasn't called "Adam Ruins some things"

  • @patrickcorcoran4828

I stopped watching "Adam Ruins Everything" when he did an episode about EVs that was chock full of old fossil fuel company talking points. The renewable and EV world did a point by point rebuttal and Adam released a video backing off some of his badly researched points and doubling down on others. Interesting to see him still going after EVs 7 years later.
Elon Musk is in irredeemable human being, but Tesla's manufacturing defects are covered by the media much more than the defects of fossil fuel cars. I've never met anyone with a Tesla that was unhappy with it and two of my seven friends with Teslas did have manufacturing defects, but they were corrected under warranty by Tesla mobile service while their cars were in their work parking lots.
Jon's comment about it rattling: You can year all the sounds of a car's frame and suspension when there is no engine noise. My dad's Bolt and my friends Leaf both have squeaks that wouldn't be audible if the car's had engine noise.
I really hope shareholders sue Tesla's board to get rid of Musk so mentions of his insane behavior don't keep devolving into attacks on the company. They're good cars and I hate that one of the best EVs on the road has become an unacceptable choice due to Musk's racist, homophobic, misogynist etc. comments.
