Everytime I hear "who is the monster?" I feel guilty, not because I did something horrible to someone that made me feel bad but because I'm a part of this cruel society, and it's shown in the movie that we become monsters from someone's perspective by doing something we never meant to.

Absolutely. But the principal seemed suspicious and that added to our sense. If she had been even slightly more forthcoming, we may not have attributed malign motives to her behavior. We were set up.
In my perspective they have died. In the end when they were running together, there was no gate shown in front of the abounded railway track. I personally think that gate represents a stop to their love and happiness. And in the last scene that gate was not there because they have already died and they eventually found their happiness after death. They were talking about reborn after death. Maybe it is shown that they died in the storm and reborn. But this time there were no gate to stop them from finding their happiness, they run together until they dissappear into the broad daylight.
Also from the died cat convo. Their bodies were probably not found. So, their soul stayed at their favorite place (the train). Because their bodies are not burried properly

I've so many questions. 1. Why did teacher apologize at last? He didn't even do anything. 2. Why did the girl only take minato name with the dead cat? Yori was there too and why did she turned back on the teacher at last? 3. What was the principal looking at last? 4. We got that the teacher was innocent in the later part but why was he eating camdy while talking to mom? Is he just weird? 5. Why did ghe principal has the photograph turned to the the other side?
I think you are taking things way too much in a black and white.... Still I'll try to explain it to u... 1. Hori sensei apologised because he thought Minato is the bully. And he practically accused him being a bully. He knew yori was bullied but he never tried to actually understand the problem and solve it. 2. There can be a few interpretations for this... Firstly, maybe she just didn't see the other guy but only Minato. Secondly, because there was rumour spreading that Minato is a bully she just saw things in that perspective and only said the things to match with the ongoing perspective. She turned back on the teacher at last because she probably just wanted to stay out of trouble. Also, probably in the end she wasn't sure about her prespective or knew that her perspective was wrong. 3. The principal was just looking down and introspecting. 4. He was probably just trying to calm himself down since the candy was given by her gf... Also candies are known as mood lifters. Or maybe he was just being weird. 5. She did that just to gather sympathy from minato's mother. We have seen that the principal is practically obsessed with saving the image of her school. So she is ready to capitalise on literally anything possible... Hope this helped.

Nah. He keeps running nowhere when Yori gets bullied by his classmates. Don't do anything after listening to Yori's dad said that Yori has a pig brain and will correct him. Don't investigate further and think that Minato is the only bully. Other kids know it and that is why they vote Hori out
I agree. Cried like a baby with Yori and Mugino's scenes but Hori sensei also desrved better. He was getting blamed left and right for something that he didn't do T_T and it also was also shown that he was genuinely concerned with both of them, hence, the scene near the end.
they are friends AND lovers. and no. they're not dead. the director confirmed that they survived but he somehow made the ending ambiguous as a warning for parents to take their children seriously

Just finished this I mean it was very good , it was confusing at first but in the end it makes sense and I don't know what to feel about the end it's bittersweet for me

Si no la viste; No se que estas esperando... Impresionante!! Peliculón esta entre las mejores que vi! Es arte.
This might be boring at first but trust me everything makes sense as we keep going futher it's a veryyyy sensetive emotional deep film you'll love it you'll cry over it everything it's a beautiful movie 🍿🍿🍿
This looks so powerful…wow!
ok i love the film but like they did Hori sensei dirty 😭
One of the best, everyone should watch this masterpiece
RIP RYUICHI SAKAMOTO
I’m so curious about this movie now!😮
I hope they will make part 2😭
Where can I watch it pls tell me
A film I won’t forget
Just finish the movie, I'm confused, are they friends or lover? did they survive at the end or not ?
they are friends AND lovers. and no. they're not dead. the director confirmed that they survived but he somehow made the ending ambiguous as a warning for parents to take their children seriously
@@chosenone6702 I just saw their interview, I think they are in love.
"As I was portraying the character Minato, I think I did manage to love Yori and whatever the circumstances, just as you could love an apple for example, I think you can love Yori or you can love another men or boy."
-Soya Kurokawa
"To say you love a boy, but I don't think there are really words to describe this, but there is nothin'... odd about loving another boy. I think it would be good if this was viewed as a natural thing."
-Hinata Hiiragi
@@chosenone6702 The main two character is dead. The director revealed this in a Japanese interview. Deliberately directed in a fantasy-like manner.
@@PETBOYhe never said they died if anything he said they were alive and had a happy ending

Can someone tell me what's the movie about? Cuz I still don't get the point? Is one of the child dead or what?
It's open to interpretation but the director himself assumes that they're not dead. You could view it however you want though
@@mr.algorhythm701 I'm going to watch it tmr.
@@mr.algorhythm701yeah cause in Japan, we are not dead. We just re-born. I'm pretty sure they are deceased

I'm so mad this didn't get any recognition from the Academy Awards
First of all as an Asian genre lover I would say Japan always produces many dark movies and this movie is kind of that but with an emotional and gloomy story the children Duo is phenomenal in this movie...
Damn this movie hits hard🥺
Where can I watch it?
My favourite movie this year.
i hate the message, but i love the movie so much.
Conheci esse ano e amo tanto esse filme! ❤
I give it a solid 6/10. Something to pass the time, but nothing more.
