My man's basically just went 3-0 in a best of 3.
Dang man, that falcon was so close, barely missing many of his attacks.
That grab was close, but I think it's crazier how close Bowser was to landing just before that last hit.
I would never have thought that nick loses especially offline given the matchup but well done Leon
if youre missing youre nair to knees on bowser youre gonna lose
@Alf Maggadan bowsers one of the easiest characters to get anything on, nair to knee is practically guaranteed since his hurtbox is massive, imagine going against anyone that has a small hurtbox
@@JM-lw1dr that’s not true lol he’s fairly fast bowser can bait and punish nair. nair is not safe on shield. It’s risky to go for. Nick c had ample opportunity for back air out of dair but wanted to clip Leon with the knee.

@@JM-lw1dr there are percents where the opponent gets launched between full hop and short hop distance after nair 1 so its not always easy to hit, even on bowser

Like sincara said, Heros Bowser, and to a lesser extent his DK, are nuts. If you watch Tamisuma they list the top ten players and how many times they've won and he's got like 50 wins or something. However its an online tournament

as a falcon main who hasn’t played ultimate too much, i really struggle in this matchup even though i feel like falcon should probably win on paper. ggs to both players.
Bowser main here, giving tips against me.
An important thing to keep in mind: patience.
Falcon's tend to have trouble with that and Bowsers can take a lot of punishment and combos and still win. And there's this weird thing about Falcons that I often exploit were they can't seem to wait for longer than half a second to attack.
I often just firebreath them as my opening move and all they do is run into the fire, desperate to punch (which doesn't really work). They dodge *into* it. It's kind of hilarious.
Just remember that a bowser will need to essentially be killed like 6 times, so don't get crazy. The kill percent is above 130 for bowser. If you are not there yet, don't go for killing moves, go for combos that rack up damage.
Also, grab a lot more. Letting a Falcon just attack into my shield and then spinning fortress (up b) is one of my go to moves. Grabbing (and side b or even up b) is a good way to punish that.
@@androkguz thanks for the tips, what you’re saying definitely matches my experience. coming from melee there are a lot of options that bowser has in ultimate that i am never expecting-fire breath and spinning fortress especially. i agree about grabbing more too, so i definitely need to work on my throw followups. overall i feel like it could be a decently fun matchup if i just polished up my game a bit, since falcon loves a big target.
@@androkguz As a Falcon definitely man. Being so heavy, we dont get alot of opportunity to tech chase and shield push Bowser. We think of heavies as combo food, but that’s dangerous. Patience, shield, and discipline are really important for Falcon in Ultimate. Thanks for the input man. Really appreciate the input. Also: don’t dash attack into shield. One of Nick’s worst habits.

That shit happens constantly. The hitboxes in Ultimate are ridiculously massive and you can't rely on the animation to clearly show them.

@@John_Dusty It's kind of true. Specifically, they are so ridiculously impatient that it's very exploitable with patient characters like bowser.
Phy has this thing were he opens with firebreath into falcon and half the time they just try to dodge and punch their way *through* the firebreath, resulting in easy 50% initial damage
