Been following your page my family is from Pico. I give you lots of credit moving there. I love to travel there and speak fluently. My daughter lives in SD and I am here now and love this place. I would love one day to live there 6 months and here 6 months. ❤🇵🇹
That’s awesome we are from San Diego also we actually have a lot of family that live 6 and 6 I actually have nightmares about having to move back to the US We love it here so much ❤️
I find it ironic that in Canada and US the roads are 2, 3,4,5, 6 lanes wide and we have so much road rage. Yet in the Azores I have never seen anyone get angry, you simply pull over and let the other person pass. And when your going around the circles and turning from the wrong lane the locals are more than happy to guide you😂😂😂😂
Yes that’s very ironic but the culture there is so different as far as time is money and money is time at most jobs if your late more than 15mins 5 times a year it’s grounds for termination no matter the reason it’s a very me not we mindset I know I was a part of it for far too long it’s unfortunate but true
TH-cam puts the dates or at least a round about time . For example, this video says one month ago. I do put Terceira Island, Azores in the title of most of my videos. Would you like me to tell you what town I’m in? I live in Feteira but most of the farmlands and the cafe is in Porto Judeu
Funny that you mention cow poop, i nicknamed my cousins street estrada da merda its unbelievable how many cows are moved up and down the street during the week you got to have cowboy blood to live in the Azores
Love love all your videos. I'm finally catching up on them. When you were talking about ordering from Amazon you said Amazon Spain. I understand Amazon Prime is out. So can you can't use the American page? That would be a big adjustment. I'm assuming that is with any mail order or app order.
Yes definitely an adjustment we use Amazon Spain and SHEIN for online ordering I personally don’t have my family send care packages because they make you pay import taxes on it so I just tell them if they want to send something order it from one of those websites 😊
Hey, just found your page! I'm from SD as well but live on the east Coast now. My husband and I have been enchanted with the Azores for a while and plan to visit next year. How difficult was it to actually move? I see you guys have a farm, but do jobs seem plentiful there?
Hello and welcome to the channel to answer your question yes it was hard to move more stressful than anything making sure all of the puzzle pieces fit together, moving with pets made it even harder. I think that was probably the most stressful part. As far as jobs go out here. No they are not plentiful. It’s hard to become employed if you don’t speak Portuguese, but if you do, you definitely have a better foot in the door we had property waiting for us out here because my husband was born on the islands. We actually moved with 13 other family members definitely makes it easier. All the hard work is worth it I promise you. Best wishes from all of us
Enjoyed your video once again! I lost all but the basics after I moved away and only visit now. But when I hear something it's easier, unless their excited and talking real fast! 😂😂😂 I don't have/use Facebook but I do use Instagram and Whatsapp. Whatsapp is great for overseas. ESPECIALLY getting in contact with fa.ily back in the US. If your on Whatsapp, we can chat free and Instagram has private chat too. Your Alabama/ Terceira friend. ✝️🙏❤️🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵️👣🍍😊
Thank you for reaching out 😊 Speaking Portuguese is hard for me but I know I will pick it up when I start to take classes. I don’t really used WhatsApp but I do use IG I’m under Anita Silveira ❤️
