Thank Dan! This speaks to me today.
My product is competing against an established player, but taking an innovative approach. So far, the market research I've performed to date has provided valuable insights as to where to attack and build a "niche". I know that members of my competitor's team are aware of my product. However, based on their recent outputs, I'm not convinced they fully "get it". Time will tell, but important strategies nonetheless.

Jon Kostyniuk selling them something is the only way to validate if they get it. Stop fucking around and get a sale.

Got a fortune 500 company in your market? I feel your pain... 5 months into building my company Clarity.fm, one of them announced a competing solution. Here’s how I kicked their @ss!

Hi Dan, another brilliant video once again mate, you just keep hitting these out of the park, love it!
I'm thinking number 3 is probably the one I could work on the most, well actually all of them could be better, but I guess isn't that the way, that you have to alway keep improving, lol.
Not sure about number 5 though, it's an interesting one. I get the theory behind it, but I've just never really had much luck with it and I don't really known how much benefit I really would get from it. It seems everyone is just after what's in it for them and not so much about any partnerships they have created. But I guess that is always going to be the case. Anyway, it's probably just my business because we are unique. But even if I can't do number 5, I'm still happy to concentrate on the other 4 :)
Thank you again mate, and am looking forward to next weeks video.

Cool video, Dan, thanks. I see what you're saying about the story, but what if your story just isn't that interesting? I can't just magic a better origin story out of thin air, but I don't think mine is that interesting. Ideally I'd like one that matched my audience, but my customers are 50+ conservative Americans, and I'm about as different as you can get to that.

Joshua, I bet your story is far more interesting than you think. We are so close to our story that we have a tendency to struggle to see the forest through the trees (overused analogy I know). Recently I hired a speaking coach. That was a bit of an eye opener for me as he was able to take my story and help me present it through the Arc. That helped me a bunch. Rather than my story being just a bunch of disconnected short stories it now has flow and leaves the audience with a key take away. Something to consider.

Hey Joshua, Dan is right, you probably think it isn't interesting, but I bet you it is.
So I am going to challenge you mate, just in here were you can say what ever you like and your customers won't see it, tell us your story.
Try not to make it too wordy, or even if it is easier record it in video, upload it, unlist it and then give us link, that's of video is easier.
I bet we will be able to find something interesting from your story that you can use.
      Regards Ben

Joshua Dunlop great stories is how you make someone feel / not the facts. It creates a space that your customers can insert themselves in and "feel" you. Heady stuff, but you have it. We all have it. Once you nail it, you can move mountains with it.
