    Hi. Thanks for the video it was pretty interesting. I'm a tattoo client myself and my tat from almost 2 years is all thick black lines and all of them are raised permanently. I was suspecting scarring as the artist was extremely heavy handed and it was so freaking painful. He is a pretty popular artist tho so I wasn't sure. But perhaps he needs to watch your video 😂. Anyways, is there any way to treat this? Make it less raised? And if I were to try to get some work done over it would it even take? Thanks

    I had a cross tattoo with 2 lines done & I had it done multiple times (again after the first time the scab took off some) and the 2nd time the healing process was too wet accidentally & caused it to be raised, it’s been about 6 months and I was wondering if there’s anything I could do to get it to be more flat because I also want it redone again since the color isn’t how I’d like

      Yes there is but only a few people know how to do the technique that reduces scarring (I invented the technique and have only taught 2 others on how to do it).
      What you can do at home is massage the raised areas with oil vigorously (not painfully but with some vigor). It will (slowly) reduce the raised areas. After some time the raised area will be more ready to accept another pass of color.

    I was new to that, I wanted a sleeve and end up having a full forearm tattoo with a noob artist and few portions healed raised. it has been 3 years and I am living with a raised tattoo. My sleeve has been completed and my upper arm and shoulder tattoo was done by an expert and it ended well. but I really like to fix my forearm tattoo. is there anything I can do?

      There is… But only a really skilled Tattoo) or can probably do it. It’s almost like micro needling over the top of the tattoo to reduce the scarring that’s there. there. I have a video about it if you search it out.

    Hey. I can still feel my lines raised after a year of getting tattoo. Is there anything to be worried about

    • @BetterTattooing
      @BetterTattooing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it isn’t causing you discomfort don’t stress. It’s probably just scarred. If it gets itchy, blisters when exposed to sun, or causes other feelings of unwell - go see a dermatologist and get a biopsy.
      If it’s just raised and doesn’t feel any different there’s only one thing to worry about - premature aging. The tattoo will look less clear sooner and require skilled hands to fix down the road.

    So what can you do to heal raised spots? Anything? I’m two weeks out on my sleeve and my black work is mostly raised. The lines and shading looks nice but the very black portions were a bit bleedy. Is there anything I can put on it to reduce the puffiness of those areas? The rest looks like completely healthy, healed skin.

    • @BetterTattooing
      @BetterTattooing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check back in after 4 more weeks. If there is still an issue with the areas being raised I can give you a tip. I don’t offer it now because it can harm more than help if you jump the gun and start remediation now

    so my tattoos has already healed but it looks like it's raised/ bumpy? although it looks like it healed fine? is there anything to worry about? should it be flatten or left as it is? i remember my artist was quite rough with the tattooing.

    • @BetterTattooing

      If it’s been a while you can always massage it with lotions/oils/ointments.
      If you have skin care routine already just take the time to massage your tattoo a little more than just slapping some cream on after a shower.
      If you don’t have a care routine be sure to grab a lotion or whatever you plan to use EVERYDAY- and massage the tattoo (like a stiff massage but not a deep tissue massage) for a few minutes. This can help reduce scarring.
      Only do this on a tattoo that is healed more than 6-8 weeks! If it’s just healed like a week or so you have to wait a while to intervene. If you start too soon it’ll increase scarring.

      @@jonathanmarkleonard5571 I got you. Yeah, I’d wait just a little longer and see if it drop naturally before starting to do the massage. The only reason why is I can’t show you how to do it on YOUR skin after looking at the tattoo.
      I’m recommending this blind so I could end up giving you bad advice!
      Just make sure that you don’t have any scabs, rough tissue spots, bleeding or anything else for a little while before starting it.
      Also, if you have white in your tattoo and that’s the spots that are raised - you’ll totally need to do this but you can expect a longer time for the pigment to settle. White is a known “reactive pigment”. This means that loads of people are actually sensitive to the product and experience weird swelling/raising of the skin where it’s been done in a tattoo. This issues normally resolves itself after 6-12 months but can be sped up with the massage techniques listed in the previous comment. If you do have the raised white areas be sure to avoid white in the future🤘

      @charlesleerayrt8814 there is a likely sensitivity to the pigment. You need a biopsy to confirm. See a dermatologist and make a note of what color it is.
      Most common are red, black, and white pigments. These reactions occur often and are normally treated with hydrocortisone cream.

    I paid $8K for a half sleeve and originally thought it was badass but now most of it looks scarred. It’s been a little over a month since the tattoo. It’s definitely “raised” in many locations. Did I get fucked? He called the first session (10 hours) the “base” of the tattoo and then I go back to get detail.

    • @BetterTattooing
      @BetterTattooing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not knowing you, the design, or the artist I can’t comment.
      What I can say is that sometimes things may be raised for a few months then calm down. It’s complex as to why this happens but a rule to assume would be that if the tattoo is raised 6 months out, there’s scarring
