DEWA19 also known as DEWA. originated from Surabaya (City of Heroes), East Java - Indonesia. Their band's name is an abbreviation from the first name of original members. D = Dhani (Keyboard), E = Erwin (Bass), W = Wawan (Drum), A = Andra (Guitar) & Arie (Vocal). They launched their first single and album when they were 19 years old. So, they titled their first album 19. Since then, '19' always sticks with their band's name. in early 2000's, DEWA19 replaced their drum player and lead vocal. Elfonda Mekel (nicknamed: Once, pronounced: On-Che) as lead vocal and Tyo Nugroho (nicknamed: Wizz-tyo Nugros) as drum player. Tyo was mentored by The Corrs's drum player, Caroline Georgina Corr, when he was abroaded in USA. With 2 new members joined, it brought a fresh new concept into their music. With Elfonda's unique voice, they changed their concept from Pop-Ballad to Pop-Rock. Heavily influenced by Queen's music. Then on 2009, Wizz-tyo the drum player resigned from the band due to his knee's injury. Then replaced by Agung Yudha (Nicknamed: Agung, pronounced: Ah-goong). On this video, Wizz-tyo was the drum player. The music video also took an inspiration from RCHP Give It Away - Aeroplane and SOAD Chop Suey During their active years, they have sold over 7 millions album's copy estimated.
