low pressure=low temperature and high pressure=high temperature; If you're closer to sea level means you are closer to the centre or high pressure and of course high temperature. Elevated area of course lower pressure and therefore, low temperature even though you're closer to the sun.

Great place to visit as a tourist if you like public institutions - the museums, the National Gallery, National Library, National Botanic Gardens, etc. are highlights. The city itself is dead boring - bit of a nightlife in Manuka but not much else. The real highlights for me are the nature reserves and the surrounding mountains. Even the mountains within Canberra itself - Mt Ainslie and Black mountain are worth visiting for short walks but my favourite places are Tidbinbilla, Molongolo Gorge and the Brindabella Ranges NP.

I don’t know about the worst Australian city, but I can certainly say one of the most amazing experience of my life was to visit the Blue Mountains in Katoomba. While admiring that amazing landscape there were some people playing didgeridoo too and afterwards I had one of the tastiest (and warmest) pumpkin soups ever. Sydney was of course amazing too. I have really fond memories of Australia and I hope to have the chance to visit it again one day :) Greetings from Italy!

It was 6 years ago. I am a pianist and came to Australia to play for the 2012 Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia 😊 it was an amazing experience and I am still in love with vegemite with butter on a toasted bread (and also with Aussie Pies of course..)

The worst one i’ve been to would definitely be sydney. Why? Traffic. Every road in the sydney cbd has 4 lanes while in the melbourne cbd our roads have 6 or more lanes. But my trip to sydney was still amazing.

Hiyaa Pete, how's it going? I'm learning the Australian accent but I'm having quite a problem at mastering the High Rising Terminal. The reason for this is because I'm too used to the British accent which don't have HRT. Do you have any tips for mastering the HRT? It's my final step for having a convincing Aussie accent. Thanks mate!

Aussie English Oh, that's because I just got back from Australia like two weeks ago. I went to Sydney to visit my father at his uni. It's a well known uni called Macquarie University. I think you may have heard of it. Anyway, while I was there, being an accent snob that I am, I started opening my ears on how the Aussies talk. Mostly eavesdropping on random conversations at a coffee shop or at the Shopping Centre. And what I found was that the Aussie accent is much more relaxed compared to other English accents. Which suits me very well I might say. And it's quite unique as it has it's own dialect and phrases and everything. After a week of constant eavesdropping, I fell in love with the accent and I immediately went on a hunt for an Aussie English teacher on TH-cam. And I stumbled upon your channel! Lucky me eh? Hahaha

Canberra is my favourite city in Australia. NO - I do not live there any more but I do miss it. Canberra was selected and engineered by Walter Burley Griffin for very good reasons. Do your research, as it is far too complex and time consuming for a TH-cam comment but....it was a city by design in all areas of life.

Try going on Easter weekend, it really is a ghost town, even more so! I went for a day of the National Folk Festival one year, held over Easter Weekend, then was picking someone up at a bus station to drive to another festival in the bush
I tried to find somewhere to buy a coffee that wasn't at the bus station, and nothing was open at 1Oam.

Canberra isn't that bad compared to many other places in Australia. It's quite civilised. It's just kind of grey and pointless. If you aren't a public servant don't expect a social life. It's all based around cliques from what department you work for. I lived in Sydney for a long time and I thought it was terrible garbage, it is, but then I moved to Gold Coast and I realised it can always get worse.

Any similarity to Brasilia is just coincidence. Distant people, power nearby.

I've never been to brasilia nor camberra, i just know it was built inspired by canberra, 40 years later with the same objective to keep the population away.
