been selling on ebay since 2003, and i have seen so many changes. Just about 100% of them are against the sellers, which is why my selling has dropped from being a power seller.
@@sebg2086 I always give everyone such a good deal - and if the buyer is a ahole they try to lie and say I didn't send something or sent the wrong thing - they try to get a further discount or scam me out of the sale entirely so now I only deal locally.
The way calculated shipping works on eBay isn't great from the buyer's perspective. Honestly, it's not from the seller's perspective either. Some sellers put USPS in for shipping larger items, and then do calculated shipping, which results in massive shipping charges. Like an 18 x 10 x 6 item ends up cost $85 to ship or something, where for my business, with my negotiated UPS rates, that package would be about $12 to ship. People are just shooting themselves in the foot, because that's a massive turnoff to any buyer. You can say, oh well, I made 10k on shipping excess charges. No, you didn't. Buyers don't buy things in a vacuum. They consider the total price, when making bids. I buy and sell roughly $400,000 worth of stuff on eBay every year as part of my business. Trust me, we don't make bids or purchase things, without considering the total cost. So, looking at that 10k as extra profit is not reality. How many sales did you miss out on by overcharging for shipping? That's the real question. That's why we do free shipping on all of our listings. It removes that variable, so that I know what each item I sell is actually worth, without gumming things up and obfuscating what buyers are valuing things at.
ebay doesnt seem like a stable income or future for anyone unless you already own a store and have ebay as a addition. think about medical insurance and stuff like that in the long run
eBay screwed me I sold a block of pure copper for melting into copper ingots, sold it was paid the $300 sent it out. A few weeks later I get a call the buyer didn’t get it lady said can you prove you shipped it. I said yes emailed a photocopy of the receipt for shipping. I was told 3 days later that they have investigated and it my proof wasn’t good enough I owe $300 of course I never paid which in turn means I can never use eBay again it was my first and last time selling on ebay
what about tracking info? I recently had a $200 order that the buyer filed a dispute over not receiving. I used ebay - fedex shipping and proved it was delivered and signed for. The buyer refused to communicate after filing the false charge. I did get my money, but had to wait 2 weeks. I wish us sellers could leave negative feedback like back in the day of selling.
watched till the end. Been selling part time on ebay for four years. Learn new stuff every day.
Thank you for watching
Changed because price was $6.66 is all I had to hear, anything after that is suspect

I always get burned as a seller on ebay shipping.
eBay isn’t a stable income if you don’t know what you are doing. It provides a great living for us

Did you not ship it through eBay? Also you can file a claim with USPS
