His talk with Scorpion about multiple dimensions spawn mentions "that's why my *soul* still burns" which is a reference to his Soul Calibur 2 guest appearance. Its sad we never see him use the Axe Agony in game.
I love how that guy started to realize he wasn't batman, was because of the "your angel of death awaits" quote and not because he like fired 9 times and did nothing.

They are making one. Todd McFarlane is writing it, producing it, and possibly directing it. Blumhouse is involved. However, Todd has said that Spawn will be mostly kept in the shadows, the film will follow Sam & Twitch on an investigation, and the film will have a small budget. I think that all of that's dumb, but I'm sure that they'll let loose with the sequels.

I see this as apart of the Spawn Universe. As Spawn has never had a true reboot compared to other comic book heroes and villains and yes anti-heroes. Plus how the lore goes within Spawn. The Mortal Kombat Universes can be traveled to. As Spawn has the ability and Hell is basically an interdimensional gateway. Plus Spawn meeting Batman is also canon in my book. Regardless what DC says.
Keith David indeed was a great choice and I have to say. Even if quite a lot of people regard Spawn as edgy I have to say he is the decent kind and the voice acting for those lines are really good.
