I was born in Kansas City in 1986 and lived there for the first 34 years of my life. I live in Los Angeles now, and this is so great to see. It will be even more rich as time goes by.

Loved the video! Especially the RX-7! I had a black 1983 RX that looked almost exactly like the one in the video at the time.

Now this is what I call REAL footage of the 80s! Made by an actual individual. Rather than directors and movie filmers. I have tons of old home movies on my channel!

I have visited there as an exchange student for 2 weeks in 1986. I was 16 years old! I remember I have touched a bull statue at downtown to make a wish I have come back to visit there again someday in the future.

The only time it looked busy back then was when ppl went to work or came home from work in traffic😂 what was it like was it safe back then or dangerous and gritty in the city? It’s like they wanted a clean rich and small NYC and just failed💀 sorry KC still love ya and you are my home lolll

I lived there, too. There were tons of things to do. Lots of shopping---the Plaza, Crown Center, Seville Square, Antioch, Bannister Mall. Countless restaurants. There was Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun theme parks. The KC Zoo. There were the Chiefs and Royals games. There were lots of live events--concerts and shows at Kemper Arena and Starlite theater. Great dinner theater at Waldo Astoria and Tiffany's Attic. The always frantic night life of the bars, pubs, and clubs of West Port.
