MJ will be talked about hundreds of years from now, the way we remember Shakespeare, Beethoven, George Washington and other historical figures of the past. The legend of Michael Jackson will only continue to grow, I'm just honored that I got to live and witness his greatness, and actually shake his hand in Seoul, South Korea in June of 99!
@tellylott77 Dont want to Rain on Your Parade But i doubt Humanity still Exists in 100 Years BUT IF it Does People will still listen to Michael Jackson he s Like the Bach and Mozart of Pop music,
Thriller is already in the National Archives as an official part of American history. They don't just put music albums in the National Archives everyday.
The short film that changed the world of music videos! I have seen this more times than I can count and it NEVER gets old! Thanks for the great reaction to the GOAT!!!❤❤❤
Yep you nailed it. I've always said if Taylor, Beyonce and drake announced you're at the same time MJs would still outsell them in record time. Let's not forget 'this is it' shows got MJ another 3 Guinness records and if it went ahead would have boosted the UK economy by £1 billion.
I remember the Friday night this premiered on MTV !!! It was HUUUUUUGE!!!! Before it was even released . We anticipated each of his videos . The 80’s at that time was a video world !! Video killed the radio star was the first video ever shown on MTV The night the Station premiered.. I will never forget either night and so many others . I was a teenager then and I am 55 now ! Very lucky to be in HS during these times . I can literally remember the premieres of the greatest movies and greatest videos of that time ,but can’t remember what j ate two days ago 🤣🤦♀️❣️❣️❣️
This is the GOAT music video because it completely changed how music videos were made, and their purpose. No one was thinking on this scale. It was the definition of a game changer.
Let's not forget the iconic voice of Vincent Price....the narrator. A horror movie icon. Boyfriend at the time used to provide medical transportation for Director and co-writer John Landis's mother in early 2000's. Really nice people.
There was a special on the 40th anniversary of this album, and one thing I thought was cool about the video - when Michael is singing/dancing around his lady friend (around 5:00 onward), John Landis, the famous director, couldn't keep Michael in the dolly shot. So he had the lady walk exactly to the beat, at a steady pace. All Michael had to do was stay within 3 feet of her, and he'd be in shot. Worked great! They also said MJ LOVED being in the werewolf/cat make up, while most actors loathe it.
"What were they thinking?" Bruh.... That became THE most popular jacket because of this video. If you had it, you were the man. There was also a reverse variant people would buy, black with red strips that was also popular.
I was 13 years old and the night I watched this video it was something special. This was just spectacular, and next day, week, month we just wanted to watch it over and over again. ❤
Waiting for this video to come out was like a little kid waiting for Christmas to come around. I didn't think the day would ever get here! It was so great. Still is.
The 1st time I saw this was when i worked 3rd shift as a nurse. This video was advertised alot and made ya can't wait to see it I watched it on a small TV in a patients room across from the desk It was very cool. I'm 75 and I can't remember the date
Michael Jackson i say it Now was the Only Black Artist EVER that was Equally loved by Black n White people. And there will Never be another one like this.
I’m a 70’s baby. I was a teenager when this hit. Do you realize how many times I’ve done this dance in my lifetime???? It has to be hundreds of times. IJS
This film is so iconic that I can remember being 19 when I saw it and exactly where I was. It was like no other video we had ever seen before. He set the standard. Inspired by the film American Werewolf In London, Michael was determined to have the same director and makeup people.
Great reaction as always. Personally, I think the greatest music video of all time will go to Smooth Criminal. Thriller revolutionized the short film/music video concept. But Smooth Criminal refined it. You guys should definitely react to Moonwalker. That’s his short film where he plays a superhero. Smooth Criminal is the center piece of the film.
Best music video of ALL time… sorry Beyoncé(!) He didn’t plagiarise. MJ was the ORIGINAL old G! Didn’t have to repeat vowels nor copy others. Didn’t need Grammys to prove he had talent. Original ol’G! Seen Prince, Stevie, everyone… my first concert was MJ back in the 80s and not one man Jack of them compares. It was an amazing day and to see him on stage with the zombies doing the Zombie dance on his 30th birthday is something so special that I shall NEVER forget. The Master.
Man i remember when i danced to thriller on Halloween when I was in high school I was in this dance class and when my teacher told us that we was gonna dance for Halloween and that the song we was gonna dance to was thriller I felt so happy cuz I couldn’t believe that I was really gonna dance to a song of one of my fave artists ofcourse I had to be one of them zombies crawling and shii but sure did had fun 😂💙
I remember back in 2008/2009 (my final year of ) high school, we had to take dance class. The teacher told us that if we all came to class and participated in other forms of dance (Waltz and etc) we would get to learn and dance to MJ’s Thriller at the end of course. Honestly, I don’t believe anyone missed any of the classes because we got dance to it at the end. It was so great 😄🙏
I watched this the very first night it aired on mtv at my best friends house next door ,mtv had if i recall correctly had (which every one seems to forget) a time counter in the bottom of the tv screen when you flip the channel to mtv ,the timer was counting down to zero tostart the video 4:25
I was about 4 years old when i first saw this & i ran to the front room, scared shitless. 😂 So then i became a huge fan of MJ since his Billie Jean & Beat It came out in the 80s. Yes i was about 4 years old when i first watched his performances in the 80s via MTV!❤❤ AND my mom recorded it thru the vcr until Hurricane Katrina took that away from us! 80s babies 4eva!
I've always been a little confused at the end. So if this ending is real, When was she dreaming? I don't think them watching the movie was a dream though. So I guess she fell asleep over at Michael's house after he took her home from the movie. So maybe she dreamt about what just happened and the rest was a nightmare stemming from them seeing the movie so her head added Micheal being a zombie in the dream and he is a werewolf in the real world. Please correct me if I'm wrong y'all lol
Don’t be doggin that jacket. That was fire at the time. We used to memorize the choreography in the videos. Should check out the movie 13 going on 30 she gets everyone up on the dance floor to do this dance. You mentioned the 1.2 million dollars for this video and this was in ‘83 so imagine how much that would be now.
MJ will be talked about hundreds of years from now, the way we remember Shakespeare, Beethoven, George Washington and other historical figures of the past. Absolutely
Research and react to Michael Jackson beat it with Eddie Van Halen. A testament of how beautiful America was, just a decades ago.
Exactly! And Kudos to you for meeting him! How was it?
@tellylott77
Dont want to Rain on Your Parade But i doubt Humanity still Exists in 100 Years BUT IF it Does People will still listen to Michael Jackson he s Like the Bach and Mozart of Pop music,
@@sheldoncooper8199 Can't argue with you there!

💯💯
The short film that changed the world of music videos! I have seen this more times than I can count and it NEVER gets old! Thanks for the great reaction to the GOAT!!!❤❤❤
MJ is always entertaining and never gets boring
Michael did all this without the help of social media. If he was alive today it would be over for a lot of performers.
Yep you nailed it. I've always said if Taylor, Beyonce and drake announced you're at the same time MJs would still outsell them in record time. Let's not forget 'this is it' shows got MJ another 3 Guinness records and if it went ahead would have boosted the UK economy by £1 billion.
True that. MJ did not even do a promotional tour for Thriller.
I think Michael was the last of his kind. I'm glad to have been born in the 90s and to have witnessed his success in real time.
When we thought it was a movie 😅
Who the man in the booth did he turn too 🎉❤

That jacket became HUGE! Everyone wanted one. Stores sold cheap copies & quality copies. That jacket was & is famously known.🔴
It is the best video of All time! This is History!
This is the GOAT music video because it completely changed how music videos were made, and their purpose. No one was thinking on this scale. It was the definition of a game changer.

Yes!! I do recall this is his voice narrating during the song, very creepy not gonna lie.😊
Yep and he said it in only one take... A true professional 😊
Generation X really had it good with this dude.....early-mid 80s MJ was a moment in time🎉
I'm from generation X and i stil like and love this as it was my first time seeing on the tv. No TH-cam back then!
We were spoiled which is why our standards for music are so high
