Brilliant fabrics, patterns, and mashups. I loved every single garment made. I love beautiful buttons too, I have all my life. "Button" was my term of endearment for my son when he was a baby and toddler. My daughter knows how much I love buttons, so she made me a small Christmas wreath with beautiful buttons to put over a doorknob as decoration. Rain is my favourite weather, loved that entertainment during the video too. Thank you Kristen, I learned alot and, as always enjoyed the video and have come away inspired to get sewing.
I am loving the pastel tones to your spring wardrobe. The coats are both beautiful, definitely on my bucket list to make a Tessutti jacket. I'm in the tropics, so it's not a wardrobe staple, but definite for when the borders open and we can travel south. I have been making a few maternity clothes for my daughter in law, so she has quite a few Palazzo pants and a variety of PE tops to wear, as well as an every days a weekend dress. She only has a month to go, so I'm looking at patterns that are easy for breast feeding for her. Ive collected a million baby girl patterns and fabrics, and hope to start making a few very special little person clothes. Being able to sew a few things for my Daughter in law has been so good for both of us to get to know each other better. Sewing is so therapeutic on so many levels.
Had two favorites...the pink dress and the darker shirt dress. Both very, very flattering on you!! You had a very productive month of sewing. Gives me the kick to stop procrastinating and sew the ones I have already cut out. Thanks for sharing.
I am definitely a dress girl!! Those jackets will look fabulous with the Melba. So many gorgeous makes too difficult to choose a favourite. The wool viscose looks awesome xxx
Hi Kristen love the makes they are gergeous....as usual you never let us down always give me so much encouragement..... thank you for that.... willl love to see you feature your mom and her sewing God bless you and the family stay safe....
Oh wow the McCalls shirt dress in that beautiful fabric just looks gorgeous on you. I want that fabric 🥰 you have inspired me to start sewing again after I stumbled across your videos & I watch them all. I can’t wait for my days off to sew that’s all I want to do now thanks to you your amazing! Thanks for all the time you put into your video’s for us.
Just saw new pattern release for a shirt dress by Melissa Sews. Just thought I would pass that along. I love that you film outside whenever you can. Delightful.
Love your dresses with great fabrics! And your Sew to Grow Jacket 🧥 I just loved it! You look gorgeous 😘💗 with your new wardrobe! My fav, the Style Arc dress...it's just stunning!
Hi Kristen, I absolutely love all your makes. My favourite is your magenta dress - it’s such a great colour on you. Looks amazing. Thanks for showing us what you’ve made. X
Thank you for another great video. I must say that I loved all your makes today, and all your fabric choices were beautiful. The plain magenta dress was my favourite, especially with the matching lipstick 😍. Great tip too about the shoulder pads, I'd never have thought of that, and they did improve the look of your top on you. I haven't been as busy as you, I've made a few pairs of Megan Nielson Acacia pants, had to increase the rise by 2", but it's a free pattern and uses scraps of leftover jersey. Looking forward to your next video.
I love everything you make...as a larger woman, but losing weight steadily, it's hard for me to choose paterns that ....so I need patterns that are multi-sized and easily altered..I've lost 3 pants sizes in the last 6 months...yeah me...but this does make sewing and picking fabric n patterns...but you show easily made and mostly easily altered patterns. Thank you...you are great, and awesome...
Congratulations on your weight loss Terri! The beauty of sewing is that we can always alter to fit! I love a drawstring waist or elastic because it’s so easy to change the fit!
I loved hearing the rain on your tin roof! I don’t currently live in Texas, but I did 20 some years ago and it’s a very Texas thing too! ❤️ I loved everything and I’m having a tough time picking a favorite but I think the first dress is my favorite. Very well done. Your lilac is beautiful. I have lilacs in my yard that are from our family farm, transplanted over 60 years ago.
Shoulder pads can be added to any bra strap. Just cut 2 pieces of tape wider than bra strap, attach to shoulder pads on one side and add press studs to other side. Can be removed for whatever bra you wear. Stops slipping.
… I just enjoy all of YOU ‼️‼️., your fabric choices your pattern choices ., your explanation of why how & what you did … I MISS your sew alongs ., there are not many sewists left on you tube that do sew alongs , and I mean sewing like we do .. with the bumps along the way ., I learned so much from your sew alongs maybe one a month ?? … oh goodness the Melba dress , that fabric colour on you jaw dropping … gorgeous !! It drapes you beautifully … I am going to watch the rest of this video and come back and add to this comment … hang on darling ….☺️💙‼️ … the mysotis dress is so beautiful what sleeves did you use ?? ., I know you said your own hack… anyhow just wow .. you look gorgeous in all of them .. I also love dresses., my last make was a hacked button front roscoe blouse which I love , and a pair of black tencel Pomona pants .. I have a bunch of roscoes blouses cut out for work and a pair of Arden pants and Pietra pants ., I haven’t updated my work wardrobe for the last two years … and I would also like to sew up a third m7969 with some Christmas fabric I bought so it can be big sleeve beautiful yet Christmas comfy house dress loungie …lol… again Kristen your genuine personality is like hanging out with dear girlfriend 💙.. thank you so much … have a beautiful day …🥰🥰🥰💙💙💙‼️‼️ Hugs xoxoxo Mónica
All I made in September was a pair of leopard print knee length PJ shorts. Being just 2 pieces they normally take 1 hour from cutting the final hem. This time I had my cat 'helping' so therefore 1 hour turned into 4.5 hours. He hates the sound of any appliance but head to the sewing table and machine and he's all over it supervising me.
Beautiful makes! I know what you mean about the Adrienne Top - I made one in a bamboo jersey and it’s beautifully soft but so clingy and I only feel comfortable wearing it under a pinafore. I should try again in a thicker jersey!
Beautiful makes, Kirsten! I am looking at making shirt dress and you have given some great ideas. Keep safe and thanks for another great episode! 🇦🇺💗🌺🌷🥀🌹
Looking at all those floral makes amongst your flowers in your garden - beautiful! You look stunning while you enjoy your beautiful makes in your garden - the best inspiration. I Loved everything, but Because I love a dress, the Style Arc Melba looks so stylish, and the Myosotis by Deer and Doe (with bishop sleeve hack) were my favourites, plus the PE tops are absolutely me - love the neckline hack.
I loved the black floral! Boiled wool jackets you make are so pretty! I’m getting great ideas for tees and heavier sweatshirt tees from watching your channel. Thank you!
Wow, were you busy!!! I am so inspired by all of the different styles and fabrics too! With all of the kids home during lockdown, plus, recuperating from the surgery, I don't know where you found the time and energy to do all of this! Congrats! I too love dresses. They are so easy to wear and you look good no matter who shows up at the door! Thanks so much.
I really enjoyed seeing all your makes. Cannot wait to see your october makes. I made one blouse. I dont have much time on my hands & been busy with other things. However you inspire me to make something but never know what to make & what fabric to use in my stash. Stay safe
In the last few years, I have developed a tag aversion. I take them out of all my ready to wear. They scratch my back and drive me nuts. I keep a seam ripper in my bedroom just for removing tags. Thank you for the info on the clingy jerseys vs. the ones with more body. Great explanation and I learned a lot from that. I don’t like clingy either. Lastly, it may have been in another video or maybe it was this one where you mentioned that you don’t have a statuesque neck. Neither do I! And my mother had the longest, prettiest neck. Not fair. I never realized that an open neck would help camouflage that so thanks for that piece of advice, too. Lobe the video. Thank you.
Hi Suzy! I find that the tags I add to my garments are much softer than ready to wear tags. My daughter is the same, hates how scratchy they are! Thanks so much for watching ❤️
Love the top you have on…you look great. Just ordered my first online fabric…I am used to feeling my fabric…we will see… you have inspired me Kristen. Thank you so much❤️❤️❤️
I really like the shirt dress. That fabric is lovely and I like the fit on you. I'm going to make the Style Arc Armidale Shirt Dress this Summer. It is a favourite of Alex Judge and I like the look of it.
I've been watching your channel for over a year now and just have to say thank you for all the work you out in, you've sold the Myosotis dress to me and i think you sew fearlessly, very inspiring. Hello Gorgeous top never fails to look good, I've bought that pattern since seeing how good it looks. Thanks x
Thanks again for sharing your makes. Love the retro florals too. The Marta? shirt dress in the black floral blew me away. I would never choose that pattern, you've opened my eyes to possibilities. Stay well. Xo
The colours of your garments - lots of pinks/ blues- against the beautiful garden backdrop are so cheery. This lockdown is getting to me, I often can’t sleep so I’m up at 1:30 am atm putting PDF patterns together and watching your video. 😅 my favourite I think is the myosotis dress, love it in that gorgeous pink fabric! I see you’ve been busy making dresses - (as you said) I’ve been mostly making tops/ pants .I think I’ll switch to dresses now, you’ve inspired me. 😄 I had lilacs back in my garden in Canada, it brings back memories, they smell so nice .
Thank you for the fusible tape idea. I would never have thought of it but it’s a great solution to those facing issues. Also, I really liked your Marta dress. I think it looks beautiful on you and makes me think I should try a shirt dress. I look forward to your episode featuring your favorites. Thanks for working so hard on your videos. You are inspiring 😊
Some lovely fabric and patterns you have used this month. Your garden is looking lovely, what is the purple flower behind you when your on veranda. You gardens in Vic. are so different to what I can grow in Qld. I love wearing dresses as will maxi is my go to for summer.
Another great blog. The fabrics were beautiful & the shirt dress is really flattering. Love the Leila top fabric and blue boild wool. Your background when you were on the veranda was fabulous. Just finished plazzo pants & Camden skirt. Getting all my patterns uploaded to my Pinterest board. Thanks for the idea. Deciding what to make next. 🌈🌷
Beautiful makes! Love the fabrics & your lilac plant! At the moment I'm deconstructing a pair of jeans to make a pattern! White on white, my eyes are crossing 😜
Everything is beautiful - love your taste in prints. I especially love the coat-igan! I need a white cardigan and I'd love for it to have more structure. Always gorgeous - ❤️
Your top looks so gorgeous on you Kristen! You’ve inspired me to get that pattern, as well as the Deer & Doe pattern. Both so very beautiful on you, and I love how you added the waist ties for some added flattering definition. All your makes are beautiful, yet again! A question, please - where can I find the fusible tapes (that you mentioned for your Style Arc dress)? Shoulder pads are a great idea, and would help my shoulder line in some styles 🤗 And Thankyou too for your invaluable fabric advice. 😊🌷🦜
Thanks so much Julie! I appreciate that so much! The heat and bond fusible came be found in must sewing stores, Amazon and I’ve linked Sew to Grow as they sell it too! www.sewtogrow.com.au/product-page/heatnbond-soft-stretch-lite
I bought that pink floral from Darn Cheap Fabrics after seeing it in your haul! Haven’t decided what to make with it yet - daughter is lobbying for me to donate it to her…
I love that you can pick a fabric I've walked by in Spotlight and make me see its potential! Also love the cardy/jacket crosses would they be jardys? or cackets?
I love the Melba dress and that fushia colour is so gorgeous on you! I'm working on a banded Besties Tee which is taking forever for me because I decided to hand baste it. I had to add considerable length since I'm 5'9" and add seam allowance because my sewing machine can't deal with only 1/4" for a sweater knit. And I have a dress on hold because I need 20 buttons but I haven't found the perfect ones yet. Deciding on buttons can be hard, lol.
@@thedahliasewciety lol, I'm inexperienced working with knits and my pins were falling out of the fabric because it's so loose and floppy. Not a perfectionist at all. 😁
I love the Tessuti jacket but I'm intimidated at the thought of sewing with boiled wool and how to maje the seams looks nice. Could you consider doing a tutorial if you make another one please.
I do love seeing the dresses you make! Also, I love colour and florals, so the fabrics definitely add that extra inspiration. I live in Canada so I'm looking at a jacket/coat for my next garment make.
My favs were the tessuti jacket and the pattern emporium t shirt. I have just made the myostis dress but did not find the pattern as thorough as I'd like or very size inclusive. Things like stay stitching missing in the instructions. I also found the collar stand difficult to install. Wondering if the boiled wool is washable? All lovely makes.
The sleeves on that Leila top are magic. My Lyon Jacket is all cut out and sitting on my sewing table. I'm going to get onto it this weekend. How was it to make? The Melba is on my "to make" list too. I'm thinking of doing it in a linen.
Great makes and pattern reviews. Love the tip re shoulder pads. Fave? Shirtdress. I've made a blanket into a bog coat! Lined it. Love it! Had 2 robes, lined the flannel one and shortened it into hacking jacket. about to do same with 2nd one which is wool. Finally finished faux suede jacket that machine refused to sew even with suggested jean needle...finished it by hand...reminded me of the jacket you made out of the green faux leather in that it wasn't the right fabric for the pattern. Disliked it by the time it was done but have worn it every day since it's been finished...so you never know what is going to be worn most until you finish, do you?
I am currently working on a pona jacket from Helens Closit. So far I'm very impressed with the instructions. I'm filling in the gaps in my summer wardrobe. Would you mind if I ask if you have a favorite place to buy your dahlia bulbs? I've just bought some new ones from Tesselar. I'm very excited to see them bloom.
Beautiful collection. Especially love the top you’re wearing. Random question…where do you buy your jeans they fit you well and I’m a similar size to you 😊
Everything is so beautiful! 😍 Wool is so expensive in the US, but I’ve managed to purchase a cut and some lining this year for a coat. Perhaps I’ll try a jacket instead since I live in a temperate climate also. You’ve given me some great inspiration. Thanks!
This is the first time I’ve stumbled across you! I’m so glad I have, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your video. Where in Australia are you located? Looking forward to watching more from you, take care ❤️
Another inspirational video Kristen - you have inspired me to make the Kaia Coatigan - I have multiple cardigans that I wear between seasons (and especially in lockdown) but the Kaia is just a little more dressy so off to download the pattern! Style Arc Italia is a great shirt dress - I've made it multiple times as a dress and a shirt and fits nicely on the shoulders. I've seen a couple of images on Instagram of midi length shirt dresses with a flounce around the bottom which I think I will try as I don't need gathers around the hip area! Rowen_couture who I believe is Gabrielle from Cloth Edit's sister has some inspirational designs.Love all the colour in your life - I have a couple of friends who only wear black and white - couldn't imagine it!
Oh that's such a cute story Anita! I'd love to see the wreath!
I am loving the pastel tones to your spring wardrobe. The coats are both beautiful, definitely on my bucket list to make a Tessutti jacket. How exciting! I would love to have sewed more when my kids were younger! That's such a beautiful thing to do for your family. Take care Belinda x
The fabric on the McCall's shirt dress is sooo pretty. Really makes the dress super feminine. That one is my favorite. 😍
Thanks, I love it too xx
Agree with all the comments - the Marta dress is spectacular with the perfect fabric colours,
It really is!
You really have a knack for honoring a print by pairing it with just the right pattern.
Thanks so much!!
Oooooohh! The pink floral Myosotis dress is simply stunning!! If you ever get tired of wearing it, send it my way! Love all your makes.
I love it! Thanks so much! haha
Had two favorites...the pink dress and the darker shirt dress. Both very, very flattering on you!! You had a very productive month of sewing. Gives me the kick to stop procrastinating and sew the ones I have already cut out. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!!
I am definitely a dress girl!! Those jackets will look fabulous with the Melba. So many gorgeous makes too difficult to choose a favourite. The wool viscose looks awesome xxx

Such an inspirational video! I think my favourite is the shirt dress - this is going on my ‘challenge yourself’ list.
You can do it!
Hard to pick which make I liked best. All gorgeous!
Thanks!!
Hi Kristen, I absolutely love all your makes. My favourite is your magenta dress - it’s such a great colour on you. Looks amazing. Thanks for showing us what you’ve made. X
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much Elizabeth!!
I love fusible tape for holding facings in place.
It's great, I am using it foe everything!
Loved the jackets the most gorgeous colours and style. You look fabulous in all your makes😍
Thank you so much!
I must tell you that your photos and videos are top notch. And, you are an inspiration to many. . . Kudos!
Wow, thank you! Such a lovely comment!

I loved everything and I’m having a tough time picking a favorite but I think the first dress is my favorite.
Very well done.
Your lilac is beautiful. I have lilacs in my yard that are from our family farm, transplanted over 60 years ago.
That is awesome! They must be huge!
As always beautiful makes
You are a lovely seamstress
Gives me so much inspiration and ideas
Take care
God bless you
Thank you so much! So lovely of you x
Love them all. More patterns to add to my list!!
Wonderful!
Shoulder pads can be added to any bra strap. Just cut 2 pieces of tape wider than bra strap, attach to shoulder pads on one side and add press studs to other side. Can be removed for whatever bra you wear. Stops slipping.
Brilliant idea!!! Thanks Janet x

Mine too! thanks Cynthia!
I am definitely going to get the deer and doe mysotis dress pattern now after seeing your version, it was my favourite
It's so lovely on!
Style Arc Maybel dress is wonderful
Thanks so much xx
Love the top you have on…you look great. Just ordered my first online fabric…I am used to feeling my fabric…we will see… you have inspired me Kristen. Thank you so much❤️❤️❤️

Thank you my beautiful friend!
Shoulder pads are a great idea, and would help my shoulder line in some styles 🤗
And Thankyou too for your invaluable fabric advice. 😊🌷🦜
Thanks so much Julie! I appreciate that so much! The heat and bond fusible came be found in must sewing stores, Amazon and I’ve linked Sew to Grow as they sell it too! www.sewtogrow.com.au/product-page/heatnbond-soft-stretch-lite
@@thedahliasewciety thanks Kristen! I’ll head over to Sew to Grow now. And such a quick reply 😄 🌸
your color taste is wonderful
Oh thank you!
Love the colours in this video.
Thank you! Cheers!
I bought that pink floral from Darn Cheap Fabrics after seeing it in your haul! Haven’t decided what to make with it yet - daughter is lobbying for me to donate it to her…
Wonderful! Oh its so lovely to wear!
I love that you can pick a fabric I've walked by in Spotlight and make me see its potential! Also love the cardy/jacket crosses would they be jardys? or cackets?
haha Love it!
Sounds great! Hand basting, sounds like you are a perfectionist!
I would love to, just need everyone out of the house, lockdown is a little crowded and noisy to do any sewalongs at the moment!
I do love seeing the dresses you make! Also, I love colour and florals, so the fabrics definitely add that extra inspiration. I live in Canada so I'm looking at a jacket/coat for my next garment make.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing!!
The McCalls dress looks so great on you. Love the lilac cardy/jacket. Thanks for your content, I think you just might be my favourite You Tuber 😃.
Oh thank you! This means the world to me xx
The sleeves on that Leila top are magic. My Lyon Jacket is all cut out and sitting on my sewing table. I'm going to get onto it this weekend. How was it to make? The Melba is on my "to make" list too. I'm thinking of doing it in a linen.
Hi Annette! I was quite a simple make! You'll love it!
Yes I agree! Sometimes it's the makes that you dont realise that will become the favourite! You are so busy xx
Hi Katrina! I bought mine from Van Diemens bulbs in Tassie or Garden Express!
@@thedahliasewciety thank you.
Dress you have on, perfect! How do you get all patterns to fit you soooooo well?
Oh thank you! Just experimenting! Side ties are great!
Beautiful collection. Especially love the top you’re wearing. Random question…where do you buy your jeans they fit you well and I’m a similar size to you 😊
I usually buy mine from Suzanne Grae (here in Aus) they always fit well!
Everything is so beautiful! 😍 Wool is so expensive in the US, but I’ve managed to purchase a cut and some lining this year for a coat. Perhaps I’ll try a jacket instead since I live in a temperate climate also. You’ve given me some great inspiration. Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed Lynn xx
This is the first time I’ve stumbled across you! I’m so glad I have, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your video. Where in Australia are you located? Looking forward to watching more from you, take care ❤️
Hi Heidi! Thanks so much! I’m from Melbourne ❤️
Great podcast. I’m from Wairarapa NZ. Just made a New Look 6080 in linen blend. Sadly subscribers can’t add photos
Sounds great! You can email me a pic at thedahliasewciety@gmail.com or via a message on instagram!
I love the fabric from your top, is there shop in New Zealand that stock it?
I think it's sold out. You may find it on another Lady McElroy stockist. I wish I could remember the name!
How did you do your Myosotis bishop sleeve would love to see. That fabric is also gorgeous.
I just looked up a tutorial on youtube to do the "slash and spread" method!
Oh thanks so much! Gabrielles makes are just stunning!
The Lady McElroy
Do you know Gertie has a shirtdress pattern on her Patreon too?
Oh lovely, she's amazing!
💖
😀
What size did you make the McCall’s Marta dress?
I made a straight size 16, decided to go off the finished garment measurements
@@thedahliasewciety Thankyou, it looks lovely on you.
👍🌹
