I kinda just thought I was weird lol "I love pens and paper", just sounds kinda odd to someone who doesn't. I never knew stuff like this existed until recently. PLANNER CONFERENCES!? I never knew there were other people out there like me that share my love of stationary.

It took me a very long time to realise there were other people out there who enjoyed planning like I did - I’m in the UK and it seemed like it wasn’t a thing here. It was only back in 2018 that I realised there were others! As a single parent, there’s no way I’d be able to fly to the US for things like this, so am grateful to be able to see it through your eyes! Thank you. I get social anxiety so I’m in awe that you dealt with this the way you did though, that amount of people would freak me out, although I suppose you know some of them in some form or another so it might be less daunting in that case. I really hope you managed to catch up on sleep at some point? Look after yourself!
SOOO many planner peoples in the UK! I would definitely recommend local get togethers. I used to attend a local one in my small town and each time just 5-10 people would show up! I hope you find your people

It has been so delightful watching you have fun on vacation while I am on vacation. I’ve had a bit of a TCMC video binge today and now have a list of other planner peeps to check out courtesy of your Q&A video. It’s my first time commenting, but I couldn’t resist when you mentioned wanting to visit Italy one day. I am currently living and teaching in China (my second year here after teaching in Tennessee for 21 years) and am meeting my son in Italy for Christmas. It feels so surreal. What a crazy thing life is. I love that Japanese chocolate you mentioned. We get it at the import store here. My most exciting news is that my Take a Note planner will be at my house when I get home tomorrow. I tried HOBONICHI a few times but never could keep up with the daily pages. I still have FOMO over the vertical weekly spreads, however. I was completely stoked to find out about TAN planners. I had to get my Chinese and Taiwanese coworkers to help me order it and it actually arrived! My son will be bringing me my TCMC order when we meet in Italy. Life is good. I hope you’re having a lovely day (and getting some sleep at night). ❤️😀

Having grown up in south Florida, it's a state with relatively recent (past few decades) explosive growth so a lot of its development is only car friendly. Very few places are as walkable as cities in the north, unfortunately! Though at the end of the day I'm still really glad you got to experience a lot of unique Florida things haha. This was such a fun two episode series of your travels! Thanks for sharing :)

Everything is too spread out. I miss places like Montreal and NYC for their public transport and being able to walk everywhere.
I wish I could have gone and met you Helen. I think that in itself would have been worth it. Unfortunately, we were in New York during the conference. I did get a chance to get my first Tim Hortons Ice coffee in Niagara Falls, NY. It was good.

as someone who worked in the hospitality business for 20 years, just a little reminder, don't walk around carpeted hotelrooms in your socks, bring slippers or ask the hotel for a pair, never use the glasses and the cutlery in your room until you have cleaned it yourself. You do not want to know how some housekeeping is cleaning these. Just a few months ago I was in my room when housekeeping came in. Since I was waiting for a house technician (long story) I stayed in the room. I had used one mug to make tea and instead of taking it outside to swap it out for a clean one, they took it into the bathroom, rinsed it out in the sink and dried it with one of the clothes they later used to wipe down every, and I mean really every surface of the bathroom. Needless to say I did not use that mug again. Later I talked to the hotel director (I know her for almost 10 years since I am a regular guest in this hotel for the last 30 years) and she told me that she would talk to the cleaning company and do some more training with the crew. Just imagine, my room was the last on that corridor and tbh, I do not want to know how many toilets they have wiped down with that cloth before they "cleaned" the mug with it and if this is what they do when the guest is still in the room, I don't want to know what they do when they are alone.
😊 I wish I could attend (I live in North Florida). I already had birthday plans before the planner announcement. Looks like you had fun. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Sunshine State.

@@TheCoffeeMonsterzCo You deserve it with how hard you work! Good!! because I mean every word I say. :) Plus, it's almost impossible to get around most of the cities here without a vehicle. Everything is too spread out. I miss places like Montreal and NYC for their public transport and being able to walk everywhere.
I wish I could have gone and met you Helen. I think that in itself would have been worth it. Unfortunately, we were in New York during the conference. I did get a chance to get my first Tim Hortons Ice coffee in Niagara Falls, NY. It was good.

as someone who worked in the hospitality business for 20 years, just a little reminder, don't walk around carpeted hotelrooms in your socks, bring slippers or ask the hotel for a pair, never use the glasses and the cutlery in your room until you have cleaned it yourself. You do not want to know how some housekeeping is cleaning these. Just a few months ago I was in my room when housekeeping came in. Since I was waiting for a house technician (long story) I stayed in the room. I had used one mug to make tea and instead of taking it outside to swap it out for a clean one, they took it into the bathroom, rinsed it out in the sink and dried it with one of the clothes they later used to wipe down every, and I mean really every surface of the bathroom. Needless to say I did not use that mug again.
Later I talked to the hotel director (I know her for almost 10 years since I am a regular guest in this hotel for the last 30 years) and she told me that she would talk to the cleaning company and do some more training with the crew.
Just imagine, my room was the last on that corridor and tbh, I do not want to know how many toilets they have wiped down with that cloth before they "cleaned" the mug with it and if this is what they do when the guest is still in the room, I don't want to know what they do when they are alone.
Ohh thank you for the tips! I don't travel too often so I'm not sure of these tips and etiquettes 😅
