For some context on the Garen Viper vs V1per slide, Viper (from the LCK) recently said in an interview that he would like to play a 1 vs 1 against NA's V1per for the name "Viper". He stated that he would be willing to change his name should he lose. However, he followed up saying that he would only be willing to play the 1 vs 1 if both players were playing Garen. I have no idea if NA V1per replied, or even is aware of that KR Viper challenged him.

The real question with c9: Would winning a split in NA again result in them leveling up their world's game even more and winning it all, or would it curse them to be just another NA team at worlds? Here's to finding out.
My real question is "was losing Jensen a blessing in disguise?" C9 never won a split with Jensen on their roster, now it looks like TL might not win the first split with him on their roster. I know he's a great player and all, but for me at least that seems pretty convincing that it isn't an org problem with Jensen....

No matter how bad TL looked during regular season, they always activated the play off buff and smashed playoffs. C9 has yet to take a single game off TL in playoffs since franchising. TL look worse and C9 and TSM look on par to what TL looked like when they were at their peak. I think you are underestimating how good C9 and TSM are right now.

The only scenario TL doesn’t win, is if they choose to play TSM in Semi’s (Assuming TSM make it that far), otherwise, TL wins by default. I think you should look at the impact vs xmithe question differently. I viewed it as in game, who can you exploit as the weakness to helping your team win. If impact is behind he still seemed to be viable. If xmithe falls behind...they lose. Xmithe is the weakness in my eyes.

At worlds, you aren't playing against people who have these communication issues nor do you have the skill advantage. Every C9 team has went through different roster variation while TSM and even TL(Immortals for the most part) have stuck with the same core. The best C9 did was when another major region fell flat. They took advantage and did well till they got exposed.
Exibit A: Ardent Censer Meta.. Exibit B: Last year Summer Split, everyone was picking Rakkan, Braum, Kench, and Thresh. Alistar was there but really low and pales in comparison because of the Relic give. (everyone was picking Coin or Icedagger thing).

And even there Alistar had tiny counterplay as he also could go Ardent for his passive heals and was a strong engage to break threw it. But yea, Coinmeta and Braum Tahm beeign strong brought Alistar a bit down.

Multi heal were at the peak and tanks fell off cuz Tank support were being outhealed. This were the time when pros really protected support cuz of that broken Cencer. Then the nerfs happened, then Summer split - pros started taking their Mage - Midlane champs to bot lane which in turn supports started playing Braum, Kench, Rakkan, and Thresh cuz of protection and peel. Alistar last year was never meta. He was there but never an S tier or even A tier. It was a wierd split.
TL actually has the best chance at winning it still. They have the easiest semi final and if the Rock Paper Scissors played out as expected, TL would face C9 in the finals which is their winning matchup.

Just feel like TL could be a lot better if they had a more dominant top laner.

Spring 2018, Smoothie was playing godlike, and Aphromoo got it, because he had some great games near the end of the split.
