I am free writing in a Bullet Journal. It is my first time trying any kind of a Bible study. I am using the Bible in a Year with Father Mike Schmitz. Really enjoying it so far, and I might need more than one bullet journal to get through it all. I bought some faith stickers, and I am decorating with them as I feel moved to. I have also colour coded the pens to match the themes followed in the study.
I been loving to use the Dashboard!! On the daily I do my daily verse… on the M-Sun boxes I write daily reading… on the left side I use either for prayer requests, gratitude, affirmations,a verse that stood out to me in my readings, or just journal something that happened were I saw God’s work ❤
Heather's planner sold out. Glad I got mine as soon as I could. Now to talk her i to making a big size one. :) I dont know if im going to like the big happy planner faith planner being lined. The horizontals are lined, but i dont like.lined verticals I cant eritr that small lol
I currently use a HP floral horizontal, but come July I will be switching over to the Kellofaplan’s Faith planner. I got two to make a whole year. I have been reevaluating how I am going to be using it differently then I do now. I love that she has that empty space on the top of the weekly spread. I can insert my rosary tracker, novena trackers there.
I love that you use a horizontal planner for faith. I don’t follow the traditional faiths that most planners are made for, so I tend to use blank planners and make them my own for my faith. Plus, plum paper is great in general. 💜
For my daily devotions I also use a Big size. I recently upgraded to the larger size because my handwriting is bigger and I am a writer by nature. I tend to talk a lot… at least on the page 😂🙈 but I use the HP Daily sheets. I have to white out a lot. 😭 but I have stuff that goes in all the sections and I REALLY love the daily sheets for it. The little circle is where I annotate the scriptures I studied that day. The “3 priorities” section became “key points” that I learned in the scripture. The tasks/bullets is where I free write my thoughts on the scripture (I just ignore the bullet points). The dot grid portion is where I’ll hand-letter a part of the verses that spoke to me. And the two shaded boxes beneath the dot grid are for words or concepts I needed to look into more deeply… like definitions of words or what did the author mean in the context of the era it was written. Basically the deeper background info that I learned or found helpful. It’s been a game changer because I agree… I can’t think nor fit all my thoughts on those small vertical lines on the HP faith and when a page is done, it feels like it’s almost claustrophobic for writing. Now for what I take to church? That’s a classic size that I’ve frankenplanned. Hahaha. There’s a lot to that so I won’t get into it all but mainly I use the monthly for scripture writing but I’m prob going to switch to that new Walmart HP layout in July to see if I like it better! 😂🙈
I love Faith planning! I currently use a classic size Faith planner but I too have an issue with not enough space. I have been thinking of a new layout to use. I’ve thought about the BIG HP; however, I would prefer a minimal Faith design without the soap method. So we will see! Thank you for your video this morning. Very insightful! .
I agree with you 1000% about the Happy Planner Faith planner. Not everyone does the soap method. Now if someone is new to Faith planning/studying than it’s an excellent planner! But personally for me I take a lot of nots and a lot of my studies have questions to answer so the soap method wastes writing space for me. I do my devotionals in a separate section, same scripture writing as you in the monthly. I write so much that I can’t even do a lot of decorating which I love the look of all the ones you do. Right now I use a regular Big HP and keep 1 month at a time with multiple other sections for devotionals, verse mapping, word study, etc… I have a separate larger prayer journal and a bullet journal for my sermon notes as it’s small and easy to carry. I’m still changing things up here and there. I love Heathers new faith planner but would love it in the Big size. I can’t wait for the day I find my Faith planner peace. I love your videos Elise! Especially the faith ones and craft organizing ones! I hope to join your Patron as soon as I heal from surgery. I’m trying to have patience. Lol Thank you for sharing with us!! 🩷
For me, it's nice to keep changing things up, keeps the faith planning fresh and engaging. I'd love to have you over on Patreon...prayers for healing! Don't forget, God's timing is always perfect :)
I love your Plum Paper planner, hope you stick with it! I like the layout and the font, but your unique style is what makes it appealing. I use a B5 hardcover lined journal with thick paper, from Walmart ($4.00) for in-depth Bible studies. Since 2018, I've also been working through an A5 college journal I picked up at TJ Maxx for $3.99. All other faith related things (prophetic words, prayers, thoughts...) go in there. When I finally finish the last 40+ pages, I'll start a new one. I like all the pretty planners, but at the end of the day, what works best is DOING YOU. Thanks for sharing!
For my faith planner, I do frankenplanning. Last year I used a HP faith planner, but didn't like the layout very much. I loved the way you did your memory verses so I copied your method for those and use student planner for that but move the days to the top of the page. I also use a block layout for my daily devotions. I do this part of my faith planner at the end of the day. There are six sections and I use them for the verse of the day, the attribute of God that I experienced that day, prayer requests, Little splashes of joy- something that put a smile on my face that day, praise, and lastly thanksgiving. The next section I use leftover faith planning pages to do Illustrated Faith studies or other small studies. The last section is filler paper to take notes when I do larger studies. I buy Happy Planners on clearance to use the pages to put all this together and reuse faith planner dividers. Thank you for all your tips that have helped me develop this system that keeps me engaged with my devotional time with the Lord!
Before HP switched to the SOAP method they did the horizontal layout for their Faith planners. I wish they would offer both options for the faith planners. I bought the big faith planner and there's just not enough room for me to write in those smaller sections. I ended up going back to a classic planner and buy horizontal layouts to customize for my faith planning now. It's a little more work but it I like it the most. I wish, like you, that they made a Big Horizontal Faith Planner!
I am using a classic sized faith happy planner with Cocoa Daisy company vertical inserts added and their Bible Journal stickers. ( i throw out non king james verse stickers though). I use it for monthly devotional kits, prayer, daily scripture reading, memory verse reminder . Prayerful planner is really good too. I just wite out the verse and write in King James instead. It is also a neat layout.
I've ordered Heather's Faith planner. Can't wait to try it out. I really would like a disc bound system that would allow me to keep all my studies and sermon notes and prayer list all in the same planner. I'm hoping the classic size will give me enough space to do that. Right now I have 4 different planners as well as notes on my computer. It would be nice to be able to have it all together! Thank you so much for showing us some options. Your videos are always informative!
I missed out on ordering Heather's planner! Did get the sticker book. You could white out the SOAP headings in the HP and decorate over those areas. I have an EC faith planner that I came across at The Little Craft Place in Spring, TX and just LOVE IT for sermon notes. EC also still sells it on line. Yes, Heather *please* consider a large 11-disc horizontal faith planner!
I purchased the big Spoonful of Faith horizontal layout that starts in July. I will use it as my daily devotional. It also allow me to punch in my favorite studies. I also ordered the twin loop Happy Planner faith planner from Michael's. I'm going to use it for scripture writing. I like your plan as well. I hope you can share some of faith planning. I love your channel.
I’m currently using the HP classic sized faith planner-I don’t like the layout. I feel so boxed in- literally. I use a large horizontal to journal, thought of getting another as my faith planner. But I ordered Heather’s because I like the layout and I don’t plan on doing much decorating. I loved the soft colors and the neutrality. Excited to get mine!!! 😃
Thank you so much for this comparison! So many choices! Currently I’m using an old fashioned spiral notebook for my daily Bible Study and devotions. I have a separate sermon notes tablet that I carry to church each week. My big question for you is regarding prayer requests. I’m using a spreadsheet on my tablet because I have so many prayers that are the same each week and don’t want to rewrite them each time! How do you manage your lists? Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement with faith planning!😃❤️
I went to a lined hp vertical for mine to use next year in classic size my preference, for this year I had to go to lined notes pages could not find the s. o. a. p. layout pages I had gotten used to.
The vertical layout didn’t work for my faith planner. This year I bought the new one and hopes it works, but I don’t think I’ll use Happy Planner if it only offers the vertical option for faith planners.
I have 2 faith planners, one for scripture and one for a guided journal type of work. I use a horizontal for the scripture one for sure. I can’t imagine using a vertical for that. There’s not as much room and it just doesn’t flow to me. For the guided journal type that I’ve been doing I’ve been using a regular vertical and made my own prompts (3 a week along the side, but it’s for each day). For the coming year I’m using a HP faith layout for it and I’ll just do my prompts instead of their SOAP headers. I watch a lot of planning videos and have been doing it for a few years now. I don’t know anyone who really likes the SOAP method in their faith planner. I have heard a lot of complaints about it though! And if the header areas are just blank it would still work for them anyway. I’m baffled as to why HP is still doing it. If Heather had a Big version of her faith planner I’d be throwing my money at her (even though I prefer dated planners)!
Thanks for the video! Honestly I love the Lord and I so want to learn and study His Word I just dont know how or where to Begin I purchased a ECLP A5 compact Vertical just now what trying to figure out to to use it as a faith /prayer study planner. I love Vertical layouts My Brain just operates that way I cant seem to stick or Go Horizontal I tried and waisted so much money especially on planners $70-$80 plus all the bells and whistles and I still haven't put pen to paper yet. Now this Happy Planner Layout using the soap method looks very promising im just a little uneasy with the large size im more a 7x9 or even A5 when it comes to Faith planning. and I really like the design of the Kell of a plans Faith Planner too I might just try both maybe the Happy Planner for study and the kell of a plan as a companion for prayers. If you or anyone has any suggestions on starting Faith Planning id so appreciate it . Thanks
My suggestion is honestly to just go for it. Put pen to paper and just start. You won't really know what works for you until you give it a try. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to faith plan...it's about you and your faith journey!
I think I’m going to frankenplan the big hp faith with a big horizontal that I have but needs to be redated or just whited out. I don’t really need it to be dated maybe I’ll date the weeks on top? Idk
The purple cover (classic sized) is from Kellofaplan. The large pinkish/purple cover is from the Happy Planner. The large faith planner is from Plum Paper Planner

Good idea to go ahead and pick up two to finish up a whole year!
Why have I never thought of doing a novena tracker?! I tend not to do them because I forget to, so great idea!
I just went to find that planner, and I didn't even see it listed now. Maybe I just overlooked it.
@@dovely9279 I believe the planner is sold out. She has the coordinating sticker book though.

I love the kelloplanner best but i also do wish it was bigger

Where do you get the girls w/o a face that you decorate with?
Those are "Beloved Society" girls, designed by Beth Castro. They are downloaded images from Illustrated Faith.
