as someone who was basically required to eat lunch in elementary school (my code used to be 17095, after having it be "lent" to me from my brother) and we had to share the cafeteria with 4th/5th/3rd graders depending on what grade we were in, there were two lines that we had to line up in inside of the hallway, one being the one for "hot" lunches, which were basically the things in the cafeteria, and the other being packed lunches for the kids who packed food from home. thankfully, as i lived in a school district with hundreds of schools, lunches were entirely free, but the best we got were corndogs (which for some reason i stopped liking), very dry and obviously not chicken "chicken" nuggets that tasted like dirt, fritos shaped corn chips (which i absolutely loved, especially the ones with a burnt chip), and some other things that i dont really remember, but the rest were as equally as bad as each other. honestly, the ones that i stated were the only ones that tasted decent, as the other ones either always tasted freezer burnt or was noticeably old due to some of the packaged ones having a sell by (expiration?) date on them, and rarely we would get ones that were fresh from the freezer, which tasted fresher than most the other ones. ok this is kinda starting to get long due to me talking about stuff that probably doesnt really fit in here so imma just leave this here for now and come back to it later (whenever i get to it)
Lol my pizza was hard and in a square shape my fav was Chicken burgers ( even tho some had fingernails in them) And that is all I can remember except they had a choice everyday of... YOGERT lol it was just yogurt and some other thing lol
In Australia, we just have canteens. You write your order on a brown paper bag, put your amount of money inside, hand it to the people cooking, and wait until the first or second break (depending on what you wrote) and they'd hand the food back to you in the bag. Mac and cheese, Burger's and nuggets were pretty popular
To clarify at least in my case getting something from the canteen was an occasional treat as opposed to something everyone did everyday. I'd get some money for something maybe once a term and the was packed sandwiches. The brown paper bags were taken to the canteen at the beginning of the day by the designated canteen monitors and food brought back at lunch. Probably one of the most popular was Fantastic brand two minutes noodles. Your friends would be begging you to share, lol.
In the UK My school, you go to a counter, then you like to do your fingerprint (you had to use an app to pay for it), then you pick your food :) Pizza and stuff like that was quite popular!
I’m in England at secondary school and our meals are actually healthy, fresh and let’s face it delicious HOWEVER there was this one dish that messed me up big time. It was some soggy ass chips, vegetarian chilli that tasted like dog food and a cucumber… that’s right a cucumber that was all dried up because it had been sat out for so long. Delicious!
My school lunch had a deli!!!! My pallette usually consisted of pizza, the normal to go, shabby 2 star restaurant style. And a sugar cookie, snapple and banana muffin with actual banana! Somedays we would get undercooked pasta twizzlers, Buffalo wrap, Chinese rice and veggie takeout meal, chicken burger, pancakes with dry bacon, hamburger and fries, salad, fruit salad, strawberry and vanilla yogurt, chocolate chips, etc, etc. LOTS of choices. Most of these food you would get daily. My personal fave is the chips. It had grated cheese, ground beef and salty tortilla chips.
Damn, if I get food from the cafeteria from any of the schools I've gone to, there is a 25% chance I could get sick or it could be expired/moldy. I've seen them have applesauce that was moldy and tasted juce that didn't taste like juice anymore. The pizza's were solid grease shaped like tringles.
In Elementary, every Monday, they would serve something so godly and amazing it was almost illegal to have it every Monday. Slushy ice cream. Sure, it sounds bad, but it was actually really good! The flavors I remember were blue raspberry-lemon, mango-lemon, and some other ones. It was like ice cream, hard enough to use a spoon with, but it's also slushy-like because it's soft once it touches your mouth. SO FREAKING GOOD, especially on a hot day, because those were COLD.
In my elementary school we had pancakes for lunch and they were good quality pancakes and oh boy that got me super excited that specific day and then they never served us pancakes for lunch ever again
They used to serve this cup of orange frozen thing which I think was orange concentrate, but there was an orange mascot face on the lid which was making this horrible grimace. If that’s the face you make when you eat it, I remember thinking, why would I ever put this in my mouth? I actually saved a lid in my purse for a long time because I thought it was so hilarious.
in my school, there were: ham and cheese sandwiches that tasted like cheese by itself. pasta with WAY too much salt. spicy chicken goujons that tastes like turkey. vegetable soup that is so hot that if u spill it on ur skin, u get a 2nd degree burn from it. small plain bread baguette (usually bought with the soup). ham and cheese baguettes (tasted more like a pizza, tbh) that's it. (I would get either the ham and cheese baguettes, the sandwiches or the pasta)
Hey at least you don’t have a fries that are old burgers that are cold with hair, plastic stuff (me and friends later found out it was part of a plastic fork), and this weird thing that was crawling in it. The school hasn’t changed it.... and this was the best one. Remember I’m talking about a public school. nOw tiMe FoR toDAys VordVPN user.
My school “cheeseburgers” are disgusting, me and my friends joke around and say,”We should send this to a lab to see what this thing is actually made out of.”
Me school: has posters in the lunch room that all say “stay healthy” Also my school: has 3 whole boxes of ice cream (yknow those boxes that are like coolers? Yeah.)
My school is a private school so our schedule go like this: Monday: french toast sticks Tuesday: Chickfila sandwich or nuggets Wednesday: Spaghetti Thursday: Burritos or quessidillas from moes Friday: Pizza from Dominos
I have always been so picky with food, that my mom learned very quickly she could not make me eat cafeteria food. Because if we tried that, I simply wouldn't eat. So I packed a lunch the entirety of my school years. And because I was bullied, I spent several of those years, eating it in the bathroom...
I can relate…I was rather picky and the food in our cafeteria was pretty low quality and always cold. I packed ever since kindergarten and still did up until 8th grade. Luckily, I wasn’t bullied, (to my face), although it was obvious I was picky since I always packed.
*DON'T STEAL THIS* In my school we had this thing called pizza dippers. They were good. It was like the good type of cheese on one layer and pizza sauce on the other layer and then it was deep fried. We had them most Mondays and it gave me something to look forward to on Mondays.
That and healthy doesnt mean good for you... Healthy, according to current policy, just means it doesnt exceed a sugar value, and has a minimum nutrient content. The minimum nutrient content that was put in place by Michelle Obama's program is actually lower than what most pediatricians recommend for a midday meal for growing school aged children, and according to my Nutrition course i took in college, its probably at least in part, responsible for the recent drop in avergae grades nationwide in public schools, as from what ive seen students are falling asleep, and complaining of hunger even after eating their school lunches. Heck a kid at my brother's high school, which just barely meets the minimum standards (they got a massive budget increase, nearly triple the old budget, yet the entire increase was put into 'administrative costs') actually passed out because of low blood sugar due to the poor quality of the lunch he ate, and he paid for a second helping...
My high school had three lunch lines: Nacho line ((old and stale but everybody ate these)) Sandwich line ((actually kinda good sometimes)) Daily "special" line ((ew))
same here but i LOVED them. When I walked into the cafeteria and they were serving Pizza Dippers you better believe I would have fought to get them. Luckily, a ton of people at my school hated them.

as someone who was basically required to eat lunch in elementary school (my code used to be 17095, after having it be "lent" to me from my brother) and we had to share the cafeteria with 4th/5th/3rd graders depending on what grade we were in, there were two lines that we had to line up in inside of the hallway, one being the one for "hot" lunches, which were basically the things in the cafeteria, and the other being packed lunches for the kids who packed food from home. thankfully, as i lived in a school district with hundreds of schools, lunches were entirely free, but the best we got were corndogs (which for some reason i stopped liking), very dry and obviously not chicken "chicken" nuggets that tasted like dirt, fritos shaped corn chips (which i absolutely loved, especially the ones with a burnt chip), and some other things that i dont really remember, but the rest were as equally as bad as each other. honestly, the ones that i stated were the only ones that tasted decent, as the other ones either always tasted freezer burnt or was noticeably old due to some of the packaged ones having a sell by (expiration?) date on them, and rarely we would get ones that were fresh from the freezer, which tasted fresher than most the other ones. ok this is kinda starting to get long due to me talking about stuff that probably doesnt really fit in here so imma just leave this here for now and come back to it later (whenever i get to it)
My favourites were,
1. Fish & Chips.
2. Baked pasta
3. P I Z Z A T I M E .
It's pizza time homeboy.
Lol my pizza was hard and in a square shape my fav was
Chicken burgers ( even tho some had fingernails in them)
And that is all I can remember except they had a choice everyday of... YOGERT lol it was just yogurt and some other thing lol
You're trash, poisonanimates
I LOVE Pizza And Baked Pasta But I Don’t Like Fish
I liked the steak!
How do you know what you can order? Is it fresh?!
@@BabyZinc666 well yes I think and hot too but not too hot that you burn yourself.
Pizza everyday
Delicious!
I forgot you're British and was really concerned when you said the chips were soggy 😭
Vegetarian chilli that tastes like dog food. How do you know what it tastes like?
at least you don’t have a Lotta school shootings in England
Fries
Wait how do you know what dog food tastes like-
My school lunch had a deli!!!!

I thought only my school had those cheese stick things

Actually, my school had decent food. But they sacrificed the school supplies to have good food.
That was a good trade-off
in my school, there were:
ham and cheese sandwiches that tasted like cheese by itself.
pasta with WAY too much salt.
spicy chicken goujons that tastes like turkey.
vegetable soup that is so hot that if u spill it on ur skin, u get a 2nd degree burn from it.
small plain bread baguette (usually bought with the soup).
ham and cheese baguettes (tasted more like a pizza, tbh)
that's it. (I would get either the ham and cheese baguettes, the sandwiches or the pasta)

Hey at least you don’t have a fries that are old burgers that are cold with hair, plastic stuff (me and friends later found out it was part of a plastic fork), and this weird thing that was crawling in it. Kevin Thats exactly what i thought
Schools: Eat healthy foods!
Also schools: Eat this for lunch! >:)
