Top Fuel and Funny Car will always be the big crowd draw as far as the NHRA is concerned. Big money, loudest engines, biggest blow ups, especially the blow ups. That what get TV ratings and brings crowd attendance. I agree that Pro Mod doesn’t get the credit it deserves, and will always be over shadowed by Pro Stock because those cars more resemble the street car version and thats what the manufactures want promoted and the NHRA is more then willing to comply.
I agree, but it's a '60 Impala. The '59 had "cat's eyes" tail lights and longer fins. I owned one. I couldn't tell if the Camaro "red lit" or not. Still, the Impala should have made a pass just "for the data".

Hey Jim, it takes between 2000 and 2500 HP (many do more). And between $75000 and $15000 on the engine. But to be competitive it will be much more. Your mileage may vary. I hope this helps you. D All Glory to The GOD!

These hot rods are like funny cars of old with 2 doors
Fantastic looking cars. Always good to see bodies styled after the late 60's and 70's iron. Great stuff.

TURBO all the way.

272mph at a tenth+ slow time than the first guys 5.52 @267. Some of these boys were *Rolling Out Hard!* 😯
Nice to see them run a quarter mile, and not that 8th mile crap. 👍

very cool...Butler the Pontiac guy was there.

Great work
Something that EV cars will never have. The sound of pure American Muscle!

I'm a total rookie to drag racing. If you don't mind, why do some cars get a red light instead of green?
That's when they leave too early to get a red light. It's an automatic loss. That's what makes it so entertaining

only the turbo cars,yes...
When was this race in Vegas???? I want to go!! Anyone have info??
It looks like they get a second xtra BY racing downhill
Not downhill, the end of the track is actually uphill
What are they spraying into the injector hats?
Cold start
Cold start/deicing agent. Can have ice build up on the blower hat causing the blades to stick.

Aerodynamics usually plays a part in body design. So everyone wants the same body style to be competitive I guess.
