The Lions had 222 rushing yards and gave up only 1 sack with 3 backup interior lineman in there. Dan Skipper had to come in after Awosika got hurt, and Skip is like the 4th guy they've had at left guard. Graham Glasgow started the season as the backup right guard and was playing center, and then Colby Sorsdal was at right guard , and he's a rookie 5th round pick out of FCS school William and Mary, where he played Tackle. Yet another Lions rookie stepping up and making his presence known.
And yeah, last night proved why the Lions grabbed Gibbs. People always claim "Oh you can get good value runningbacks in later rounds". Well those guys can't do what Gibbs can do. Craig Reynolds and Devine Ozibgo weren't going to get that TD or get 189 yards from scrimmage on 31 touches.
Gibbs is a Guy,. He and Montgomery are gonna be a huge 1-2 punch as the season progresses.
You spittin objective facts lol
Agree on everything about Gibbs, but I am extremely impressed with what Craig Reynolds has done. I really hope we keep him in our RB depth, dude deserves a raise as well. Although he's prolly gonna wanna go to a team where he can have a chance to be a starter if he keeps playing that good!
Gibbs outgained the Raiders offense by himself!
@@uTubeNoITube what I said isn't a knock on Craig Reynolds. He's been awesome and a favorite of mine. He just can't do the things Gibbs can do.
Watching Montgomery, and now Gibbs.. it’s like having unstoppable bullets. Can’t wait for them in tandem with experience with each other.
Gibbs showed up in Baltimore. Not like Monday night, but he was clearly the best player on the team that night
Thank you! Because Detroit did win and the narrative was Devonte Adams
Devonte dogged it on several plays
@@lorenarios9461so did Jamo but no one talks about that. No excuses
@@michaelwicklund Jamo didn't dog anything, and besides he's like the 4th receiver on the squad.
@codyhess5390 In year one? The Lions drafted him injured, he didn't play at all for the first half of last year, that makes this year one for him. I watched every 'drop' from the Ravens game. Only one of those was catchable, and it was a BAD drop, I'll give you that. Wide-outs generally don't show a lot until year 2 at least. I see he has elite speed, you can't coach that. He's in the best possible place to develop. Everybody needs to take a breath.
@codyhess5390 NO absolutely wrong. 6 games last year, 9 passes in his general direction, thats IT. One TD with a rare on target pass. You're right SO much opportunity!
Historically, by this time in the season, Lions fans would be begging for them to tank the rest of the season to get a higher pick in the draft. As if the 1st or 2nd pick would turn it around.
I don't miss those conversations at all.
You're right, and what's quarterback should we take? That's always a conversation. Because I'm saying people that didn't like golf. Are lazy and didn't do any research.
That was always the problem, not necessarily for the fan base, but management. They were always hoping a high draft pick was going to solve our problems, which I think was more about putting butts in seats than actually putting a winner on the field. I feel like it was Chris Spielman who was the main driver behind building the team this way. And Brad has been awesome too. I hope DPJ works out here because that would be another guy Brad brought in and provided value. We've got dawgs on the field, dawgs in the front office, and kudos to Sheila for buying in. I haven't been this excited for Lions football or this confident in the team in my entire 40 years of watching the Lions. I actually have confidence that they aren't going to figure out a way to blow games at the end. Instead, these guys find a way to get it done. It's awesome.
No one ever talks about how healthy the lions are! They started that game with 2/5 of their starting O line out. Then one of the backups got hurt! Not to mention that Ra was playing sick and James Houston on IR. This team at 100% terrifies the rest of the league.
Hope Hank Fraley stays on MCDC's staff forever. Dude can coach em up
GO LIONS!!!! They are a legit squad, deep in many areas and well coached… definitely going to compete for the top 2 spots in the NFC.
Rich you are a low key lions fan behind those sauce Gardner jets 😂
He is a Michigan University guy
I lived out East for 4 years as a Lions fan but, due to local Boston press coverage (and Lions suckage)I eventually rooted for the Patriots too, way before Brady arrived btw. Rich spent 4 years in AA, writing sports articles and befriending native Lions fans. By default he has to have a space in his heart for the Lions.
@@bobboyoop1141 I’m aware he went to Michigan I’m in my forties wasn’t born last night 😂
Generations of Lions fans have been hoping to just feel like winners. We can only hope it is not just another playoff disappointment.
One Pride
Just enjoy the ride lol
We're set up to be really good for a long time. They're a year ahead of schedule just roll with it
@@smokeyrobinson3199 I agree, man. Had legitimate hopes of making the NFC Title game and pipe dreams of watching this team in the Super Bowl this year. But the lack of a bigger deadline move definitely tapered my expectations. Sure, DPJ is a nice addition to the offense. He had almost 900 yards receiving last year when he had an actual QB throwing it to him instead of a rookie backup so don’t let his numbers this year fool you. I thought that was a very savvy pickup. But the fact that we didn’t address the pass rush or secondary signals that the Lions brass is content with merely winning the division this year. I get that Brad Holmes can cook on draft day but you gotta be willing to mortgage a bit of your future and try to make a push for the present given how the stars were aligning for us-a cupcake schedule after the bye, no truly dominant world-beating team in the NFC to fear (even at 7-1 Philly has definitely shown some flaws), and the one potential threat in the division loses its QB for the season. Yeah we’ve got a young team that will only get better and we’ll likely run the division for the next few years barring any long term injuries to Goff, ARSB, Hutch or Sewell. But extensions are gonna be due soon for our young dawgs (as for Goff) and there’s no way we’ll have an easier schedule a year from now. Now as a Lions fan I’ll obviously be crying tears of joy if we finally win a playoff game this year, and the one seed is still within reach given our schedule, but the lack of any addition to the defense bothers me regardless. I feel like we failed to truly capitalize on the opportunity in the here and now.
31 teams are disappointed every year, 13 are playoff losers. Odds are against winning it all just great to have a reasonable shot at it for once! 👍🏻💙🙌🏽
Another playoff disappointment… like 94? Thats 30 years ago. How about we enjoy looking like actual contenders for once.
Why did they slip through cracks.
Puts respect on the Detroit Lions Name.
Great observations, Rich. And just think, the Lions offensive line was missing all their interior starters. Their right guard was a 5th round rookie making his first start. If this line and Montgomery get healthy and stays healthy, they become an elite offense with Gibbs and LaPorta. If Jamo gets going, it will be undefendable. I do wish that they would have gotten a defensive end or tackle at the trade deadline. They have a legitimate shot at 13 wins and the #1 seed.

@LogicOverEmotion All excellent points. I think both Brad and Dan think this defensive line will deliver pressure all the time. I don't think so. Not against good offensive lines (I think they will get quiet against the Cowboys). These sacks come in bunches against mediocre teams. As for the secondary, we saw what happened when Jacobs went down. What happens if Sutton goes down? Not shoring up the defensive line or secondary is a major gamble. I was really hoping they would get Garrett from Cleveland since they have such big cap issues, but that was a dream. Are they thinking Houston will arrive back in time to help? He will be out of shape and rusty. We have a cupcake schedule the rest of the way and had a real shot at the #1 seed. Next year, we will have a much harder schedule and a tougher road to sled. For someone as aggressive as Holmes on draft day, this is a strangely conservative approach. Still looking forward to a fun season.
Raiders fan here. If the Lions needed some easy meat they had the right team thrown to them (and there's more to come) but I don't think they needed it. Looks like a 14-win team, at least one playoff win, probably finally undone by the Eagles, or a Seahawks team who can make a pain in the A of themselves anywhere. Enjoy your season Lions fans, you have much to like.
You guys Rock!
Let's Go! 🦁
I like Gibbs, i think he is going to be great long term. However, it is important to put in perspective that the Raiders are either the 31st or 30th ranked run defense depending on which metrics are prioritized. I'm not sure "they fugured out how to use him". As much as you guys are stating, or if it was just a really good performance against a team tailor made to have a really good performance against.
Regardless, Gibbs had the breakout game needed to solidify his expectations of being a beast in the NFL. He won’t know anything else, except he’s a beast RB1. It’s amazing that people become what they think they are. 🧐
It's still Detroit Vs. everybody. Thanks Rich for stating the obvious. I know you will backtrack the minute they drop another game. It's ok if you STAY OFF our bandwagon. The Lions are the VILLIANS!
Lions D gave up 157 yards. Gibbs had 189 total yards.
Playing the Cardinals or Raiders tends to allow teams to get their mojo back.
the Ravens who blew out the Lions, struggled against the Cardinals this week. kind of proves that even good teams have bad games, idk why people are obsessed with the Lions losing to the Ravens. its like they had to go 16-1 for people to take them serious. its just weird, i saw the Patriots have bad games/get blown out, and still have success in the playoffs js.
@@Ray-___-right it's not about losing its about how you bounce back after a loss
As recently as October 2022, the Lions were consistently that punching bag team that helped other teams find their mojo.
@@JamieSmith-fz2mz Absolutely, the culture shifted from lovable losers to world beaters. I'm picking them for the SB this year. People laugh but this might be the year.
And the chiefs lost to the broncos. It's the NFL all 32 teams can win. Glad to see the lions bounce back. Hope they can get healthy
Love the lions!!!
Lions are a legit squad! If they don't break Bobby Lane's curse this year they're on their way to doing it in the near future.
Number 1 seed will be huge to keep Goff inside!
The Reynolds call was bullxxxx. He was clearly down.
I want to see the Cowboys and the Lions.
Kings of the North 🦁💙
We're still getting used to success and learning how to win after so many years of losing. Holmes showed that today by not going after another pass rushing end at the deadline. He seems content with just winning the division, while all other good teams in the NFC made moves and got better. Big mistake...
Did anyone notice Gibbs averaged 6.2 yards a carry against the Baltimore Ravens? It wasn’t his fault.
Lions D gave up one good drive and one TD to the Raiders!
Chris B. Looks so “ BOSS” in his Spider Man costume! Loving it💕 “ HAPPY HOLLOWEEN FELLAS”
Outgained the Raiders by 300+ yards and only managed a 26-14 W. It's the most Detroit-ish win I've ever witnessed.
Yeah, the pix 6 and that phantom Fumble made it look a lot closer than it was.
I mean if beating a bad team is “getting your mojo back” then sure
thanks for talking about the Lions, espn only talks about Dallas & the frickin Jets, ESPN SUCKS!!!
🏈🏉gOHONOLULUBLUE....... wolverineRich!🏈🏉
Can Detroit be Healthy in that little debate that they are having towards the end about the 49ers? Everybody always seems to forget that 60% of our starters Have been injured lol
The fact that it wasn't an easy answer to "do you take Detroit over SF" is all we need to know. This team is fool's gold.
SF is playing like hot garbage. Let's see what happens on the field.
Lions getting their mojo back beating the Raiders? ..smh
If the Lions play like crap, they'd still finish atleast 11-6, but I think 13-4 is most likely,
I'm 49..lions fan since the jump. This feels really good. My dad was a big fan forever as well. He passed away in September. I cry and I cheer when they do what this Great team does. Rip poppa!
I’m witcha sir just don’t know how to feel been losing and winning my whole 46 years as a lions Fan! Go lions
As a long suffering fan.. I'm taking Detroit's season one game at a time. It's super hard to change a poor culture. They are definitely doing that. All the stars are finally lining up: Great GM, coach and balanced team. Never had that before. Very exciting what they're building and can't wait to see where they go from here😊🦁🏈🔥
I love how when he asked Det vs San Fran who win....and the dude said San Fran healthy lol WTF the Lions are without 3 starting line men ....2 starting DBs.....1 starting RB.....sec year DE in Houston....REALLY!!!!!
You’re so right. Nobody ever wants to acknowledge that the Lions have injuries up the wazoo and are doing all this without major pieces of the team every game. From Mike “ The Asterisk” Tirico in game 1 at Arrowhead until now, it’s always about what the other teams don’t have. I think they just can’t wrap their minds around the fact that the Lions are actually a good team. Detroit vs. Everybody!
REYNOLDS having the ball ripped from his hands, when he was down, and it count as a fumble because the video replay didn’t show his knees down, but his entire lower body down, under a pile of guys, was BS. I don’t know what they showed on TV, but the whole stadium chanted “Bullshit,” while the crowd was shown flipping off the refs and swearing, on the stadium screen.
lol i heard the chants thru the tv that was hysterical
Detroit is usually on the wrong end of controversial flags 😢
Gibbs had EIGHT touches on the first drive! Tied this seasons NFL record
Lions should have had 50
Yep. Kept messing up in the red zone, or the ball ripped from the hands of a downed player. I was there. The whole stadium chanted “Bullshit” when that call wasn’t reversed.
Facts
Was up 35 points in fantasy, opponent had Gibbs. Boy was I sweating last night
lmao
Same lmao. I won only by 7 points 🤣, he had Gibbs
They always do that "If the 49ers are healthy?" The Lions are missing both guards, their center and a backup guard. Their lead back is down, their lead safety is down, their second best pass rusher is down, 8 rookies are getting time on this team and every time its the other team that needs to get healthy
Looking forward to going to the game in Dallas to support my Lions
I wanna hear that 'LETS GO LIONS!' on my TV Bro! REPRESENT!!
Why is it in Dallas again? Last year it was in Dallas and this year again! Makes no sense at all. Usually they alternate. That's that Jerry Jones BS!!!
The "if the niners were healthy" argument wont work. The Lions are more banged up than the Niners. Its a team sport. There are 53 players on the roster, so next man up.
Rich you're the man! GO LIONS!!
It’s the same NEW Lions! Forward down the field !
Same New Lions .. SNL? :D
Nah, “BRAAAND, NEEEEEWW, LIIIOOOONS!” - Pat McAfee and co
Lions look good. As a Cowboy's fan ya'll are my darkhorse for the Superbowl.
Ok guy LOL
Maybe you can answer a question for me: why are the Lions playing at Dallas two years in a row? I know they both finished second in their divisions but the Cowboys had the better record. Is that why they get home field this season too?
@00ABBITT00 Well, it's not going to be the 49ers, guy lol.
@@alpardo4124 I have no idea how they make the schedules tbh.
Rich your the best!! Ever since the 90’s you’ve been one of the best! Ty
Detroit was missing Montgomery.. their goal line hammer..but he'll be back very soon. Nice 1-2 punch with Gibbs.
The referees this year are bluntly corrupt.
Davante chose to leave rodgers for a casual garbage team. It’s his own fault. No one feels sorry for him. GO LIONS
When it comes to that game the Lions had vs the Ravens, I don't know who showed up in those Honolulu blue uniforms but it wasn't the Lions. They were playing as if the NFL commissioner flat out told them "lose the game".
Not sure about getting mojo back. Lions barely beat an under-average team at home. Since the moves they made were minimal and didn't address their real issues at multiple positions, I don't foresee the Lions (yes I'm a Lions fan) to make it past the first game of the playoffs.
Gibbs had a great game against the Ravens too, including their only td. They just couldn't go to him as much because they were so behind
Amon-Ra reminds me of Golden Tate !!!! Both are excellent with YAC
Lions v Cowboys is gonna be a great matchup
👑Lions gonna stomp the Cowboys 🙌💯
Why do the Lions have to play AT Dallas two years in a row?
@@alpardo4124 idk but it is what it is
@@alpardo4124 I wouldn't complain about the schedule.
@@SupercellSucks l think you mean because it seems to be an easy schedule, which is one thing. But asking why a team has to play another team outside their division two years in a row on the road is still a legitimate question.

All remaining games are winnable 😂. Go Lions 🦁🦁🦁
GRITTY KITTIES 🦁🦁🦁🩵🩵🩵
You know what's funny to me? New people finally paying attention to the Lions and being surprised EVERY WEEK by all the bad calls we get 😂. They've done the study, we are the most wrongly penalized and bad calls team in the league and it wasn't close!
Oh yeah? Who did the study and where is it?
The pain being a lions fan and all the games we lost due to officials killed me. I will never forgive the call they reversed against the cowboys in then playoffs
That one hurt so bad. I believe we will win a Super Bowl within the next 3 years though, I really do. Dan Campbell is an amazing coach!
The SUN god was a 4th round pick who had to wait halfway through his rookie season for injuries to happen to even get a chance to play (LET ALONE PRACTICE WITH THE FIRST TEAM). If you eliminate the first half of that Wr rookie class and add up ALL OF THAT WIDE RECEIVER CLASS FROM THEN UNTIL NOW HE MAY BE BETTER THAN JaMarr Chase. Even if you don’t go there just look at his stats compared to Waddle and Davonta
If we are comparing teams at full strength, the Lions would need to be at full strength, as well. They're missing two DEs, CJGJ, Moseley, Vaitai, Ragnow, Montgomery, and others.
I don't know that beating my Raiders 26 to 14 can he qualified as getting your mojo back. 46-14 would be getting your mojo back given the appalling performance LAs Vegas put on the field.
Looking at that schedule, I don't remember when we got "or" on the schedule!
Maybe in the 90's with Barry, but I was young.
Finally, some respect!
I'll be in stadium for my 1st NFL game ever week 17 watching my Lions thrash the Cowboys!!!
Everyone always mentions 'but if so and so were healthy' blah blah, the Lions have had injured starters since the first week. Where's that excuse with them?
We are used to it Rich. The Refs suck. NFL is to cheap to get professional Refs and pay them well.
They would have slipped through the cracks if their name had been Jets. Not with Rich in charge.
6-2 with an extra week to heal up on the bye. LGL!! 👊🏼👷♂️🦁🇺🇸
How can you get back what you've never had? No one alive has seen the Lions win anything
About time Lions get some talk show airtime!!
Being number 2 in the NFC will do that! Love those Lions!!
Cowboys is go either way but the rest should all be wins. Looks like 13-15 wins
Yeah I'm hoping I leave that game happy.
Tj talking a little trash already. Looking forward to the game
The difference between the Lions and 49ers is the talent and health of the offensive line.
you all only talk about your teams 90% of the time. sad really.
I found the fumble/turnover one an interesting call. I guess technically the review of the play did come to the correct decision, in that there wasn't sufficient video evidence to overturn the ruling on the field. But I've been a Lions fan for a long time, so for me it wasn't that long ago when Golden Tate was awarded a touchdown but on review it was decided that his knee touched the ground, even though there was no video evidence of it coming in contact with the ground. All shots of the knee are occluded and there is plenty of video footage of other players successfully driving forward without the knee touching the grass. But in that instance, the referees were more than happy to reverse the call on the field. As I said, interesting.
But back in the day when we got calls like that, we folded. And then we blamed the refs afterward. This team doesn't fold. THAT is the difference.
Love the love ❤️ from Detroit
The Lions have not been healthy since week one.
We need to rebuild an keep all of them get a QB an some running back jaboas got paid an don't do nothing anymore its the money start fresh
Happy 😊 Halloween 🎃 Everyone!

Quiet Rich. Shsssssssss.
Lions will finish 13-4
I've been saying all week before this game that Gibbs was going to have a break out game. I predicted 150/2 and it was close lol. This team is going to the NFC championship game. If they use that ravens game as a catalyst.
We got ourselves a winner here in Detroit y'all. Finally. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Still so weird to hear this much praise heaped on my Lions for a change. Hopefully they'll continue to earn it.
The ravens game was played outside. The lions looked disoriented by the wind and weather, not used to it. Created subliminal confusion amongst many players.
That game wasn’t as close as the score. Lions left a lot of points on the board. They shoulda put up 40 on LV.
Gruden never did or said anything about Derek Carr to make anyone think he didn't like or want him at QB. He kept him for 4 years and would have been longer if he wasn't forced to resign
And our Lions want to stay Lions! They know they are going to a Superbowl, and they know it will be with their brother Lions! We will stay a team that just gets better every year. One Pride!
Why the hell did Peacock cancel Rich!? The bozos they have on at noon now bore me to the ; local news
The game at Chicago will be Lions fan take over.
NFC Championship game bound 🦁
We played like a C game too lol
I used to hear announcers talk about teams " featuring" a particular player on any given drive or in any particular game, but ne ver seen that with detroit, til this year. I think Detroit winds up playing the Vikings in the playoffs which would be three out of four games all against the same team.
Minnesota isn't making the playoffs.
