    This video shames and inspires me. It shames me to think that I was so blind as to think the little hook on a SAK was the least useful tool of the bunch. It inspires me to make more of my life.
    This video demonstrates: imagination, dedication, courage, and attention to detail. Whoever signs your paycheck is getting a real bargain sir.

    Thank you for demonstrating the great versatility of the hook; you certainly opened my eyes to the utility of that little tool. And you anticipated my nascent objection to the strength test at the end that your trim shape didn't constitute much of a test. You certainly have the MacGyver spirit. You live up to your 'Nik-name'.

    Nice! My favorite use of the hook was getting my fishing rig back when using heavy braided line. I was stuck on the bottom, and was gonna break my gear, or loose lots of $$$ line.
    Braid cuts through your hand like a light saber, so with that little SAK hook, I made a loop, hooked it through, started walking back slowly and pulled up about a 2ft hunk of oyster bed.
    Amazing. Got my rig back, and learned to switch to thinner wire hooks!

      The _"MacGyver Mindset"_ is a choice, but most people choose not to use it. It takes patience, to sit and think about how a tool or item can be used unconventionally. When put in a situation where you're limited by only certain items to use, the brain will almost force itself to come up with a new way to use that item to get the job done. Most people are usually too busy and not in the mood to be patient and think for a few minutes, so they just look for a way to get the job fixed by someone else. Usually seeing videos like Nikos' will inspire people to pause next time and think about how a simple tool can be used to create the solution to a problem. ☺️

¿Y vosotros? ¿La compact, Climber o Huntsman? No puedo decidirme. Los tres modelos son fabulosos ;) Gracias!!! Saludos a tod@s.

    Subscribed. Great video. I've just started EDCing a yellow Swiss post office cybetool 34. I use a leatherman surge at work and am converting a charge tti I got at a pawn shop to UK legal (saw, knife and serrated blades are now slipjoint, just need to do the scissors and can opener) but I might just stick with the victorinox for EDC.

    I found a perfect new use for this hook! If you want to draw a compound bow safely to check draw length, it works amazingly well!
    You should always nock an arrow and do this outside, but there is ZERO risk of an accidental discharge outside of the d-loop breaking, or complete incompetence/catastrophic failure of a bow part.

      yeah picked up a 6 pack of 1.5l bottles at the supermarket and the plastic ribbon handle was a pain in the butt. Used my victorinox but was a bit scared it would break... Apparently the SAKwiki and Nikos say it can hold up to 90kg.

    Cool video, is the hook supposed to extend to that angle or is that from the amount of use you've put it through?

    • @nikgyver7
      @nikgyver7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks..its normal to extennd to this angle...this back position gives a practical and durable grip..

    • @5-stringslinger149
      @5-stringslinger149 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In fact...I think it's made to go back...If you notice, there's no lock-back spring bending the tool back to its original position. On the Climber/Super Tinker, you'll notice the Corkscrew/Philips head and the Awl, if pushed backwards, they spring forward, in their original position. You can use it as a stand to prob up the knife at 2 different angles. I think the possibilities are endless as As mr Doulas presented in this fun video!

    Great video my friend! On a side note most (not all) of the task done with the hook could have been done easier with pliers, for example a leatherman. The fishing tasks are an eye opener of the value of this hook. Liked and added this to my favorites and subscribed :)

      yes it will be more easier with a pliers but some of these can't do it the pliers.also i dont carry a multitool with me because is so big and illegal in my country because all these has locking blades.thank you.
