I have about an inch and a half of growth. Contemplating getting a really short haircut now that summer is near. You’re brave for doing the buzz. I think I’ll go with a Judi Dench haircut. I did that 5 years ago, I didn't do the buzz cut but I went really short. I love my hair and it's so healthy. Good for you. Most people aren't brave enough to do it, I did it when I was 43.
I started with really short hair so it was only a 3 month process for me. I am so happy with the natural colour and owning it! I wasn't fooling anyone, I'm not 25 anymore. I find that making sure you have a great haircut makes all the difference.

I’m 65 and and am into my 2nd year of no more hair dye. Gotta say so liberating. I’m loving my white grey silver and darkish tones. All natural ooolala. I went to the hair dresser and got her to lighten my hair with a cap. It took only 2 goes. I had highlights of blonde and I had dark hair. I got a stylish hair cut aysemetrical and boom 💥 quite short. Now I’m growing my hair and having fun with different up dos. I’m loving it and I’ve gotta say I look younger. So all you ladies hope this is inspiring you to go grey white salt n pepper you will be surprised. One tip look after your hair with good shampoo and conditioner and a good toner once a month. Go rock it ladies. By the way you look fab buzz lady 👍😉
I love your color and don't listen to the negative comments, you look much better with your natural color than that fake crap that has to be done every few weeks. Kudos to you for being so brave regarding the buzz cut. I wish I were that brave. Take care and thank you for sharing.
I buzz cut my hair almost every year and then relax and color it. I want to go white (my hair is just white girl) but with my dark skin I feel it may not look good. It doesn’t help that I’m overweight either. You inspire me and I think you look gorgeous. I’ve never seen a white woman buzz cut but I’ll bet many people thought you were bad ass. Now with my pixie cut the grow out of the gray is really fast so I’m rethinking as I am also 55. People think I’m way younger though not because of my hair but because of my skin. You have given me something to think about pretty lady.

Wow I can't believe the negativity in the comments!? What a beautiful journey, I am so proud of you for embracing your natural beauty, you don't need poisonous hair dyes or makeup at all! You have such a beautiful smile!... I will have to show this video to my mum, she has been considering giving up the awful black box dye but I can see now how unsupportive other women can be and how she might be turned off by the reaction she could get. And to think women blame men for their insecurities... when from what I can see it's actually mostly women who attack each other over things as meaningless as appearance. I just started my transition to white and darkish "no color" natural hair color, haha, so I did the bleach thing to get rid of as much dyed dark auburn as possible. I know, not a perfect solution, but I promised myself that that was IT. No more coloring or bleaching or anything ever again. I'm sure I'll be tempted over the next 2 years, but I'm just going to keep trimming the blondish hair until it's gone. You are brave. I would do a buzz cut, but you're a lot younger than me. I'm 70. Can't believe I've been dying my hair for 30 years! Yes. Sad isn't it. But it's a new day. Thanks for the inspiration and your video. You look fantastic with your natural color btw. Well done! :-)
Good for you. I admire your courage to shave your head and go grey. I cannot wait to see it longer. You look beautiful. The first time I went grey I pixied my hair. Got comments that I looked older and caved. 7 years later I did it again, but did not go the pixie route. Almost done and made peace about getting and looking older. No shame in that.

I went grey so young, first greys at 17 (thanks mum for that!) Lol. I absolutely hated the dyeing process so just went for it. I'm 43 now and really like the way it looks. Awesome. I did a buzz cut to get color cut off. 2 weeks later I did a second buzz cut. Everyone thought I was getting chemo. It's been 8 months and my grey came in and I love it. Thinking of buzzing it again as it was so liberating. Buzzing is like cold turkey.

Wow I just did this. Thought I was The only crazy lady. Lol. These videos help me stay sane. I spend all night every night dreaming about my hair. Ha! Can’t wait for next August to see how it goes or me. I imagine the freedom From damage and roots will be sooo worth it. You look lovely!
The first 3-4 months I was obsessed couldn't stop touching it lol the longest layer is now at about the bottom of my ears and I feel like I have hair now, with 3 more months growth from the last pic on here, still shorter than before I started though. It was obsessing on the transition process that made me really crazy though, as soon as I shaved that was relieved. transition done! Plus no blow dryer, curling irons and all that for several months was also a nice break.
Your natural hair is much more beautiful than your dyed hair. So impressed and encouraged-- you did what I wanted to do but lacked the courage to do. Settled for a pixie but it's the shortest one I've ever had. Hoping that it grows out thicker and healthier than when I was dumping chemicals on my scalp every month.
It is amazing how healthy it gets! After the first year during year two my whole hairline filled in I always had a high forehead and had no idea how much hair I had lost along the hairline over all the years.

You look great with the grey; like you, I've been on the brown box, but it's so messy and time-consuming; I chopped my hair to the jawline and just going to let it grow out naturally. What I have noticed, is that most of the women letting their hair go grey, look so much softer and prettier. It's all very much bang on trend!

gosh somehow I missed this comment. I did some trimming, I cut my own hair, I had to even out from the hairline shape of course. I thing i did too much trimming in year two trying to decide what direction to go with it. So I don't have as much overall growth for the year, but I am two months into year three now and plan to let it be to get nice and long now.
Looks great! 9 months in for myself.. Have had one haircut, short shag. There are days want to reach for the bottle but get past it. I thought it would be all one "gray" color. My hair feels better. Not dry like it use to be. What I think is real odd. People would look when I had skunk line. Now the line is fading and or blending they don't look.
Love the gray. So gentle on your face. I prefer you with longer hair but the buzz cut was the best thing to do. I'm transitioning the slow way - growing it out but keeping my hair longer. Being blonde, the gray is less noticeable but the blond ends look messy.
I'm not brave enough, I have a pixie cut. Mine has been bleached since 18 and now turning 54 not sure what it will be naturally. Eyebrows have the odd white hair. Scary but had enough of hair colouring.

Your hair looks great! The grey looks lighter and less weighted for some reason and you look happy. I'm not sure why you're getting all of the bad comments, but my guess is they are coming from people who feel threatened by your choice. Your choice to embrace your grey doesn't mean you are judgemental of women who choose to cover it. Although I do not feel that the grey aged you..i wonder what the obsession is from all of the commenters wanting you to look younger...? That's a question a need to ask our society. Why do we feel the right to insult women who embrace their age?

I went from dark brown natural, not coloured, to lowlights, in my thirties, then more lowlights, then a semi permanent colour lighter than my natural colour to make lowlights by accident. Then a hairdresser made me blonde. Fab. Lots of stares. I stayed blonde for several years, then on a whim I went dark brown again. It lasted about a year before I did the blonde again, but this time with about five different shades put through. A couple of years ago a pink wedge was added. Then last year I was Unicorn, then Mermaid, now back to different shades of pink. I love the pink. I am not yet ready to embrace the grey. Even if I did, I would have to have pink too. In the sun my dyed blonde bleaches to white and I like that. I can’t even wear grey clothes. My skin just doesn’t do grey. I will wait for white....with pink.
I have tried everything you did and despite my hairdresser begging me to consider a semi permanent colour I am now at the “nope, time for a really, really short cut”
I’m 72 and I can’t take the dying of my hair any longer but I just don’t have the courage it takes. I applaud you for your courage to just cut it all off. I have long hair and wear it in a pony tail or bun and all the dye is killing my hair. Haven’t dyed it since all the covid started but don’t know if I can just let it grow out.......

I had grey hair at 18. When I turned 55 I said enough. Let it grow out. Ironic, people ask where I get my color done.

I wish I was as brave as you. I am 5 months in now. And I do not like the dyed hair anymore. I love how the Grey is looking when I pull my hair back. I want to get it cut super short.

Your hair looks great! The grey looks lighter and less weighted for some reason and you look happy. I'm not sure why you're getting all of the bad comments, but my guess is they are coming from people who feel threatened by your choice. Your choice to embrace your grey doesn't mean you are judgemental of women who choose to cover it. Although I do not feel that the grey aged you..i wonder what the obsession is from all of the commenters wanting you to look younger...? That's a question a need to ask our society. Why do we feel the right to insult women who embrace their age?
Yeah it is a real obsession in our society. I am perfectly happy to be 55!

I went from dark brown natural, not coloured, to lowlights, in my thirties, then more lowlights, then a semi permanent colour lighter than my natural colour to make lowlights by accident.
Then a hairdresser made me blonde. Fab. Lots of stares. I stayed blonde for several years, then on a whim I went dark brown again. It lasted about a year before I did the blonde again, but this time with about five different shades put through. A couple of years ago a pink wedge was added. Then last year I was Unicorn, then Mermaid, now back to different shades of pink. I love the pink. I am not yet ready to embrace the grey. Even if I did, I would have to have pink too. In the sun my dyed blonde bleaches to white and I like that. I can’t even wear grey clothes. My skin just doesn’t do grey. I will wait for white....with pink.
I think you looked good with your buzz cut and your hair looked cool growing out. Maybe I’ll do that but I have around two inches growth.

I had two months and I like it.
I have tried everything you did and despite my hairdresser begging me to consider a semi permanent colour I am now at the “nope, time for a really, really short cut”
I’m 72 and I can’t take the dying of my hair any longer but I just don’t have the courage it takes. I applaud you for your courage to just cut it all off. I have long hair and wear it in a pony tail or bun and all the dye is killing my hair. Haven’t dyed it since all the covid started but don’t know if I can just let it grow out.......
