I guess because a lot of my thinking with most things is its about the journey - I'm never in a rush to get it over with - I really enjoy the process of creating (curating) the experience. :-)
Awesome! Paid my mortgage off in March of this year at 48 years old. A planner like you, had a whole plan to pay off at the bank. Location picked out and all but they don’t allow payoff to be in person. Has to be money transfer. But I agree, still do the trip and take a pic in front of for bank! Congrats in advance 🍾
@@FunandBudget Thank you. Got lots of motivation from your channel. Started the journey in 2021 at 286k so finished a month before hitting the 3 year mark. I wish had your patience cause paying off debt became an addiction. Trying to rewire my brain now. Like you could pay this thing off now but you’re choosing to wait a whole two years. I could not do that; I’d pay it off. Actually it would be great if you could make a video on how you can hold out on paying things off but you choose to wait instead because following Ramsay has done something to me 😩
Ahhhh...thanks for the video idea. You are so right. So one of the things I am currently doing is working on shifting my mindset from being an over-saver and feeling some kind of way about debt to being comfortable with spending and truly living from a space of abundance. Because lets be real...to do the things we've done, we had to train our brains to handle money in a certain manner. So I look at this period as being a period of transition.
i am sooo excited for you!! just came back from San Diego, and did an overnight trip to Temecula for a wine tour, great experience. have you ever considered doing a meet and greet or in person fab experience? looking forward to celebrating with you here too!
This is great! I’m happy you’re enjoying your journey and making it special! I totally agree by not giving up all of your HY interest on your savings while your mortgage rate is so low because your HYSA is generating income.
I'm so happy to see this. I'm 46 & my husband asked me what I wanted to do for my 50th. I told him I wanted him to give me a paid off house. He said DONE! I'm excited to see if I get what I want in 4 SHORT years
my home was my 34th birthday gift to myself, planning to pay it off by 60, my interest rate is stupid low so probably wont fast track it beyond that. but being mortgage free at 50 sounds amazing!!! so happy and excited for you!!!
You inspired me to pay off my loan before 50. I’m 34 now and just bought my 2nd home… I still own a condo w/ a $115k balance, but the new house is $300k. I need to strategize or ideally increase my income sources!😅
@FunandBudget I started my Marcus Goldman Sachs account back in March with one of your referrals..I have just requested my escrow be removed. I am waiting for the forms from the bank..I was also watching another podcast where they suggested putting your whole check direct deposited into your high yield savings account instead of your checking account. Pay your bills out of your savings. I am not putting all but most of it. I'm no longer walking in feat. If it doesn't work, then I will reverse it. I recasted my loan based on your video. Absolute game changer!!!!!
If you go in person make sure to speak to a loan officer to either complete the payoff or supply mortgage payoff instructions and the proper GLs for titles and loan payoff, because it's NOT automatic in my experience.
Our goal is to have ours paid off before age 60. We are very far from that goal right now in time and money. I don't like being in debt so I wish we could pay it off tomorrow and not have to keep thinking about it.
@@meltluvsluxe952 but that doesnt feel fun to me. Im kinda tired of these self imposed huge money goals. Im looking for freedom in a way thats easy and graceful. If i exhaust my savings...what happens if something happens to my employment? I'd be stressed. If i keep my small house payment for 2 more yrs and something happens to my employment...im good because my payment is so low I dont need a job to make it.
If Marriott is like Hilton, they'll keep sending that offer after this promotional period ends. lol. I do like the idea of just going to vacation in San Diego (it's on my list, too), making the payment while there, and taking a "peace out" photo in front of the bank.
My house will be paid off in 8 years. I will be 59! I can’t wait. Congratulations on your goal! ❤ it!
I understand the Birthday gift part but I would not be able to wait to get it over with. But I am so proud of you for achieving your goal, congtrats

Kudos to you. It will be 20 years of being in my home when I pay it off in 7 years. I'm definitely team pay it off early
I gave myself a goal to purchase my home by 30 2 more years left!
I love running the numbers to payoff our mortgage. My goal is also by 50, so 6 years.
Once you pay it off, work will be an option

I am soooo happy for you that you are actually walking the walk!!! Yessss. And depositing the check makes since because the interest is accrued daily.

I’d consider paying off now and challenge myself to see if I can pay myself back the value of the home by the 50th.
