    The tungsten hammer is too heavy in my opinion you could get same results with a 14.5 gram hammer weight and lower reg pressure

    Interesting how the hammer weight influences the slug/pellet speed.
    Thanks for posting.

    I bought the slug power kit for my Crown MK2, similar experience to yours regarding the lower hammer adjustment having little control for lighter pellets. There doesn't seem to be anyone selling hammer weights between the factory one and the tungsten one, as you mentioned, something halfway between would be worth trying.

    Are you going to be sending more of your tune kits to high-pressure pneumatics?

      Yes. About 3 weeks until more inventory. Mid-May.

    I like the idea of this tune kit! I have a Maverick Sniper. Couple of thoughts. Does your VP have the two different transfer ports (one is a hole the other a dual slot)? and if so which one are you using? My Maverick only has one (the hole) as it was purchased the day they released it. Shortly after all FX barrels were given both ports.
    Would love to see some way to secure the knob! The original wheel already has an issue where the setting can get changed accidentally. I actually took a piece of Gorilla Tape and taped across the edge to prevent this.
    Are you planning on slug testing? Would love to see what kind of power you can get behind a 30-38gr slug!
    Great job!!

      My VP is one a new build so it has both ports. I think Huma makes the brass end that has both ports which does increase the power. I am using the large square port since I got it. If you watch the Q&A Video, the one before this one, you can bump the rubber butt up against the knob the keep it from turning. Or a simple piece of masking take would certainly work. Just ordered 34 and 36 grain H&N slugs, will be a future video. Thanks for watching!

    what do you set the first reg at ?

    • @ShootingWithPhil2023
      @ShootingWithPhil2023  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1st reg. 150-155. 2nd reg is anywhere between 72 and 125, shooting 25.4-34 grain pellets. Haven't had a change to play around with slugs yet.

    Thank you very much for the interesting and helpful video. I have found this video at right time . I have just received my fx wildcat mk3 which is similar to maverick and slug power kit with tangstain hammer.
    My plan was to shoot slugs and pellets weight from 15.9 grains to 24 grains.
    So seems that I don’t need to install the tungsten hammer I think I just need to install the slug pin probe , raise the pressure to 130 or 140bar and adjust the dial wheel to proper speed .
    Do you think it will work for me ?
    Can I use slug pin probe to shoot both pellets and slugs?

    • @ShootingWithPhil2023
      @ShootingWithPhil2023  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You will be able to use the factory hammer up to 133 bar and your barrel length will dictate whether you will have to use the tungsten hammer (500mm barrel will give you less FPS then the 700mm barrel for the same pressure and hammer settings). I will be using a .22 Wildcat compact to test out the Wildcat quick tune system so I should be doing the hammer weight tests on that rifle as well. Coming up in 4-6 weeks, so, stay tuned to the channel. Thanks for the comment, every little bit helps the channel!

      @mytube3687 sorry, yes, pin probe ok for slugs or pellets.

    Hi Phil! Heard about your channel from a friend, and just ordered one of your Mav quick tune kits.
    I replaced my reg gauge with a digital and wanted to let you know, at least on mine, the pressure is accurate at the leading edge of the needle. It looks like you've been reading from the middle or back in your videos. I have a pic but can't attach to a YT comment. I can't say for sure all the gauges are the same, but it's worth checking out. It's a difference of like 6 or 7 bar.

    • @ShootingWithPhil2023
      @ShootingWithPhil2023  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So the accuracy of the analog gage is plus/minus 1/2 the smallest unit on the gage, which is 10 bar. So, the gage is plus or minus 5 bar accuracy. Camera angle is a bit skewed, but, I have been trying to read from the center of the needle. What brand of digital gage did you get and how do you like it? Will get a digital gauge fairly soon, not sure what brand to invest in. Thank you for purchasing the quick tune system, I think your order shipped yesterday! Make sure to let me know how you like it.

      @@ShootingWithPhil2023 I should receive the kit today actually, looking forward to installing it. The coarseness of the Mav power wheel always kind of bothered me.
      I purchased a rather generic gauge from High Pressure Pneumatics, about 40 bucks. I've also used the Sekhmet and AirMarksman gauges which are a bit more expensive. Sekhmet are good if you want the features, the other two look almost identical, just a pressure and battery readout. I got the smaller 25mm gauge for the Mav, which is also rechargeable. Seems accurate enough so far, and the pressure seems to be read within a second or two.

      @@zer0dev Ok. For me I think the simpler the better. No leaks with your gauge and how long does the battery last?

    • @zer0dev
      @zer0dev 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ShootingWithPhil2023 The AirMarksman and the generic 28mm take a watch battery. I haven't had either long enough to need to replace the battery or recharge. I get a sense that they last a long time. However I don't do anything where I have the gauge turned on for a long time. I don't do much tuning, so it's mostly spot checks. I have not experienced any leaks from these simple ones.

      @@ShootingWithPhil2023 Got it today! Install was easy. The limits were about exactly where you suggested. Fully out was around 9.9mm and too far was around 2.5. Took me more shots to tune because I wasn't sure where I needed to be, but dialed in pretty quick at exactly 900 for the 26.54 Hades @ 96 bar and 6.9mm on the adjuster (max was around 920 so I overshot just a hair). Thank you for a really cool product! I hear you might be talking with Dan about distribution... good luck!

    ISN'T THE TUNGSTEN HAMMER TOO HEAVY FOR THE SYSTEM? THERE IS A VIDEO ON TH-cam THAT THIS HAMMER BROKE THE SCREW ON THE SLUG PROBE

    • @ShootingWithPhil2023
      @ShootingWithPhil2023  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure how the hammer would break the screw on the probe because those two items never interface with one another.
