Friendship ended with JavaScript! Rust is my new best friend!

I am skeptical of Rust due to the liberal use of new features and expressiveness like Javascript and C++. C and Go are simple and minimal, which I prefer. However, I was very impressed by Veloren, a game written in Rust. It has incredible performance.

Javascript is horrendously bad and the fact we not only didn't yet replace it in the browser but also brought it to backend where there are hundreds of actually well designed languages to choose from is an embarassment of this entire profession.

I mean I understand that people like to have a single language from front end to backend but that may be for mediocre developers who only put in enough effort to be well versed in one language at a time.

I should change the title. I actually sort of like Javascript it's just very complex with too many features. I think when possible, it's better to move logic to the server for a simpler language like Python or Go. Mostly just preference.

This is unrelated but would you recommend learning SwiftUI or Flutter/Kotlin/React native if one wants to go for app dev in apple ecosystem? And is it common for iOS developers to know android development too? Since ive been learning swift for a while i thought those people would be more preferred who know those 3 languages since it supports both platforms instead of swift since its primarily iOS.
    Sorry for this beginner question🙇‍♂

I don't know anything about android, IOS, or React. My recommendation is to not be a framework developer, as in identify as an "IOS Dev" or "React Dev". Instead just learn computer science principals and programming in general. I don't know about IOS development but for all web programming as well as React Native Javascript is used, so it makes sense just to get really good at and build your own programs in Javascript. Don't focus on frameworks.

I mean if you have to be employed as soon as possible that is another matter. However, long term I don't think it matters about frameworks, just build whatever you want in whatever language. If it's something impressive enough, employers will take notice. It can be a website, a game, doesn't matter.
