It may vary, they have different scenarios if you refer the student via TH-cam or other mediums you earn more. If Udemy sells your course via ads you will earn less, if it's an Udemy promotion you also earn less. Of course, Udemy takes a stake but you can focus on creating courses and Udemy can help you reach more students, and servers (so you do not need to code and pay for servers). It has both strengths and weaknesses, If you are starting it can be a good way to start and also start thinking of building your platform. I'm building www.ascendance.dev :)
Thanks for commenting :)! Listing a course on Udemy is free :) so it’s a good starting point for instructors that doesn’t have a big budget an the beginning to build a platform and pay servers but I agree that on the long term is strategic to own your own platform :)
So Instructors on Udemy earn from 20% to 50% when enrolled in Udemy's promotion program. I think Udemy is good for students, but not for instructors who their main goal is to achieve sells with high payment rates.
True! Thanks for your feedback! Udemy helps you get Students and be fast on market but at cost, the other strategy is create a website and do the marketing you can gain access to the money faster if you use Stripe or PayPal and reinvest it on ads to really scale :)
Hey thank you for this video and it will help me to start creating courses. I see you earnings and tax withholding in your video. Just a quick question, How much does Udemy charge?
It depends on a variety of factors. Udemy pays you a percentage of every sale :) it depends if the promotion was made by Udemy if the sale was organic, or if you referred the student via a link :). I bought the HyperX SoloCast, and the SoloCast Boom Arm Mic Stand, Adjustable Suspension Boom Scissor (very important the boom arm). There are other excellent options of condenser microphones would work in a future video on which recommend but need to test them fist :)
Hi, I have written several courses on esotericism, self-help, and hermeticism, and I was considering selling them on Udemy. But I see that there are many courses at $15, it is Udemy who puts these promotional prices? I guess if I put my courses at $45, Udemy can lower the prices to $15 by itself? So if I earn revenue from a $15 course is not that much, I think only will profit if I get hundreds of students? Please let me know.
How much do they take as commission per salse from you
