Highly Positive News After Significant Changes in the Law !!!!
Following maj amendments in the law, there is now inc protection for veterans. Under the new regulations, veterans are covered by the Protection of PAA, which means that local police no longer have jurisdiction over them.
If a veteran is to be taken into custody, it will be managed by Military Police , ensuring the process is with respect and dignity.
Any investigation or arrest will be conducted by the Military Police and SIB / 733 FIC / Intelligence Battalion ,, rather than through traditional police stations (PS), which previously could lead to unpleasant interactions / disgraceful treatment.
Under the new protocol, Military veterans will be detained through a more respectful and structured process, beginning with the Military Police , followed by proceedings such as a Court of Inquiry (C of I), Summary of Evidence (S of E), and if necessary, a Field General Court-Martial (FGCM), all in a respectful manner. This sequence ensures the absence of civilian police involvement, maintaining respect throughout the process.
If at all a mil veteran is arrested by civ police the concerned jurisdiction Mil Police will
take over from Civ police for further handling just like a serving person/Official .
These amendments have been drafted with thoughtful process and are a step forward towards upholding the honour / respect of military veterans by ensuring fair treatment under military jurisdiction.
