If you still didn't know Jimin has extensive background in dancing. He studied hiphop, street dancing, popping & locking. Jimin also took some lessons in ballet, studied traditional Korean dance, modern dance & contemporay which he was a top student! He was send to compete in different dance competition which he always wins! Jimin is expert when combining his different techniques from his different backgrounds.
He has a great way to combine sharp dance move and fluidity that make him dancing more versatile than others. Jimin indeed is one of the best dancer in kpop. And lots of kpop idols are looking up on him. Many dancer can execute movements well but most have difficulties in bringing emotions like jimin does to the dance. His facial expression to interpretate music, creativity and his great musicality Brian Puspos praised jimin of having a great musicality and body control. His moves are always so fluid, clean and on point!
I know absolutely nothing about dancing but Jimin's style was the one that capture my attention in BTS. Watching this you really kniw the guy is no joke he is a perfectionist and really works hard to excel on everything he does and his passion is incredible. BTS are great performers but you can feel all of Jimin's emotions. It's truly a joy to watch. I think his only "fault" is being too humble haha he should show off all he's got more often. I guess that would make some people even more angry.
I'm so glad to see this reaction! Jimin is an amazing dancer, trained in popping before contemporary, and he's a black belt! So he definitely understands how to move. Jimin's dance is so beautiful. He's one of the best dancer of Korea, he's considerate their national treasure and he's praised for his beautiful dance line. The dance industry loves him, you can find many professional dancers analyzing his dance, he's really the best.
I was already proud, but I think one of my proudest moments of Jimin was when Brian Puspos created the choreography for serendipity.

Yeah he was really blindfolded. Fans and other kpopers that were seated very close to the stage said that when it all went black they saw Jhope move Jimin to his position cause he couldn't see.
I know its a serious event performing at MAMA, but just imagine if you had to perform and your friend had to lead you to your position since you cant see. I'd be like "you're not messing with me right, this is definitely the front?" LOL

The thing you can't see from this camera angle is that JHope is on the other side of the stage performing as well. They are doing a combination of Jimin's solo choreography to his "Lie" & of JHope's "Boy Meets Evil". They each do a snippet of their solo, then synchronize (while Jimin is blindfolded) then Jimin continues after he removes the blindfold. You should certainly see the performance (it's one of my favorites) from MAMA 2016. There's also some really great performances of Lie with him blindfolded that are just stunning.

He was already doing street dance battles in Busan before he did contemporary, then when he joined BTS he went back into hip-hop and he had to unlearn contemporary to fit into the group. But yes Jimin is versatile, a dance king.

He is also regularly praised for his dancing lines which with a knowledgeable eyes you can clearly see it why. He is awarded by Korean Fan Dance Conservation Society for is contribution in raising the status and aesthetic value of the Korean fan dance globally. He is also valued by professionals in the same industry and even professional dancer evaluate his dancing and share they thoughts enthusiastically with us. Thanks so much for react to Jimin Dance, he's such a complete dancer, his experience with Popping, Contemporary, Korean Tradicional Dance and some other styles is what make him so unique, he can exprese a lot of emotions throught his dance too. Personaly I think all the members are good dancers, but Jimin dance is so pleasent to the eye, that's why most people can call him the best dancer.

@Antice jimin does hip hop/street since he was 10 before starting ballet, contemporary and traditional when he's 16. He's been called the popping god and had beaten a dance teacher in a hip hop dance battle. To box him as a contemporary dancer only when he is much, much more versatile is discrediting. It's perfectly logical to compare Jm and Jh since they both hv hip hop backgrounds. In a dance perspective, a versatile dancer like Jimin is gold. And girl Jimin is the main dancer since debut and Hoseok has been "dance team leader" since even before Jimin joined the group. Stop discrediting Jimin's position and don't use those title as an excuse to discount Jimin

As a contemporary and hiphop dancer myself I can confirm Jimin is the most versatile & captivating dancer in the Kpop industry. Following him very near by is his band mate Hoseok (j-hope). The reason why I put Jimin’s dancing above j-hope‘s is because he is more versatile (he’s trained equally in two completely different dance styles - contemporary & hiphop) & despite Hoseok catching up with choreos much faster than Jimin (which is why HE is the dance leader & not Jimin), Jimin is the one who ends up with the more precise technique. Basically Hoseok soaks in fast & Jimin perfects the choreo

The one where he’s dancing contemporary with the girls on stage. They aren’t backup dancers they’re other idols. For a special performance at an award show a bunch of idols who had contemporary training put a performance together. Jimin was one of the ones included. Award season is literally the best. Not only do groups go all out and have crazy added dance breaks and remixes but there’s all kinds of collaboration stages

He used to do martial arts (black belt in Taekwondo, Kendo and another sword martial arts that I can’t remember the name 😭), ballet, hip hop dancing and then contemporary, all before he became a trainee for BTS. By the time he started training to be part of the group, he already had 2 years of contemporary so it was quite difficult for him to switch back to the hip hop dancing style that BTS had due to muscle memory. Nonetheless, he still succeeded and now he is super versatile and combining different dancing styles into his routines is one of his specialties. Thank you for your reaction and compliments. People who comment here that Jimin is only known or is ''only" a contemporary dancer obviously doesn't even know what that means and which styles are all incorporated there. Also, it's clear you have no idea about his background in street dance style too. Not to mentions that telling a dancer above, that he is contemporary only...shows that you didn't watch a video, were she was talking about many different styles Jimin was using, but it also says right a way that you don't have a knowledge at all. With that said, you writing the other is better, is frankly useless. So please stop trying to educate a clearly knowledgeable dancer what she needs to think or not. She already knows.
