The fact he made a clone for the jump scare is cool as it shows he doesn't know much about scratch yet and he still can figure out stuff.
Also, you can use broadcasting messages. It's very good to do things like the shrink thing where instead of using a variable you use a message to shrink.

What I personally would do (to compress code for no reason) is to make two costumes and one be invisible and swap to the visible costume when something happens
or I would do what he did and just not make a clone

Ivwould actually like to see you try to make some sort of game that is actually good, I mean this is a masterpeice but it is kind of misrepresenting scratch. Because scratch games and projects can be quite good, but there is also quite a lot of stuff like this.

Basically you control the tank engine and you run over everything including houses, peoples and vans. The scratch engine is also Thomas the tank engine but more faster and larger
