Ridge soaring flight at Lookout Mountain Flight Park (first 13 minutes)

This was the third flight of the day.
Flew my Sport 2 135 first thing in the morning (for the second time ever), and then switched to my Falcon in the afternoon and soared for 45 minutes. I got up to 4300ft.
This was the third evening flight. Launched about 6:30pm. Wind was still strong, but it mellowed out. Flew for 1.5 hours maxing out at 2700ft, just hanging out on the ridge. Landed 30 minutes before sunset.

It was so cool to see a longer video, and to see the landscape behind the ridge. So lush and vibrant, it almost looked like a model! As always, thank-you for putting these up.

Gopro never lasts long on these longer flights. This was a 1.5 hour flight. I would imagine it gets a little boring watching after a while, no?

@@yoshidragonaga No, not boring. I do really enjoy the way you are just, well, hanging above the earth. It's a joy to get to go along for the ride.

I grew up watching hang gliders on Grandfather Mountain, NC but it ended a long time ago. I would love to see you at Lookout Mountain.

Wish they still flew at Grandfather Mt. It's not far from where I live. I heard KHK is having a hang gliding event there this summer!

Thanks, Mike! Ridge soaring is actually easy, once you can handle the stronger conditions. The lift is pretty much guaranteed, so you can stay up for as long as the wind keeps blowing.
