Great Wargame and fantastic production from NAC Wargames & Ediciones MasQueOca. The creator, Paco Ronco, show us (again) his knowledge in the design of wargames. He take a previous creation, "Santa Cruz 1797", a Card Driven Game from Iván Cáceres, and destilate a more complex and deeper game and give us to the Russian Campaign in Sevastopol in Summer of 1944. The artist is Iván Cáceres, who create an illustration very inspired in the progranda of both side in the World War II.

why is there never a swastika in these games? it was the symbol of ww2 Germany. they just don’t look right without it. i understand obviously it may be considered “offensive” but in my opinion it is historically accurate. the hammer and sickle can also be considered offensive, which oppressed and killed millions for 50 years, but it’s always there and never a problem.

I couldn’t agree more. That’s like not using the Roman eagle in games because the Romans conquered and plundered. The folks at SPI used the swastika prominently in the map for The Plot to Assassinate Hitler and many of the designers there were Jewish. People that understand history have no fear of historical symbols in wargames. It’s part of history.

Not all swastikas were removed from this game. I dare you to look for the few left ;-)

For good or ill, it's because of CAPITALISM. In some countries, swastikas are legally permissible only in news casts, history books, historical documentaries,, and university lectures. If you want to sell your entertainment product (games, comic books, etc.) in these countries, you can't feature Nazi symbology. Note to game designers: JUST USE THE 'BALKAN' CROSS ("Balkenkreuz") instead of a swastika. The Balkan cross is the Wehrmacht symbol painted on EVERY tank and aircraft used by Nazi Germany -- and it's not a swastika.
