Thank You! This is the first I've seen of showing the scent glands and why the bad smell and taste which I've always associated with non commercial meat, not bland. After seeing this video I've checked many others too but yours is the only one I've been able to see this gland, from now on I will learn how to remove this gland, I usually don't parcel out but instead keep the rabbit whole for cooking.
North American cook here saying thank you for this video. I've only had locally farmed rabbit a few times so far but I've never found a proper instructional on how to debone them properly.
Love this! My pops was a military survival instructor so eating worms and grubs was a game we played as I was growing up…he’d point at something and say ‘That’s edible you know…’, which was a thinly veiled dare to eat it.
Nice work, Scott. It's been years since I've boned a rabbit, but your video is an inspiration. The last time for me was when we entertained a group that included four older family members, three with ill-fitting dentures. They were very appreciative to have boneless meat.
Hey Scott, you're a mind reader. I just butchered 5 rabbits today and you show up with the answer to my question about deboning a rabbit. Thanks for all you help. Thanks to you, my wife and I have gone from just plain old farm recipes to a very enjoyable variety of things to do with the meat that we hunt and raise. Thanks Buddy, your're the best.
Scott is the best. I started learning how to butcher because of him. Not good yet but I keep hacking away. Going to try my first rabbit this weekend so I'll be better by Christmas. Thanks Scott
Scot these videos are the best! I hope to get your book for Christmas this year! Been farm raising my own rabbits for the last 3 years and it’s been great!
love snaring rabbits. usually take the legs and tenderloin for food and toss the rest out for the critters to eat. Now i can get more meat from 1 rabbit. Awesome Scott!
I just put one in the freeser. when I get it out I will debone it since I was unable to before I stuck it in the freezer. I agree with you about the scent glands. I forgot to take them off of one a while back and it was definitely different than one without it. looking forward to more videos scott. keep up the good work!
I'm going shooting in the morning and I'm gonna try this, I normally only used to meet from the fillets and back legs and throw the rest away 🙈you make it look so easy. Great video 👍🏼
Great job. Greeting from Southeast Missouri. I'm 58 and back in the 1970's wild rabbit was plentiful on the farm fence rows here. We hunted them with .22 and 410 shotguns. Population is now decimated by the red tail hawk. There seems to be a hawk sitting on a telephone pole every 4 miles staring at the ground. They are now reduced to eating field mice. It is common to see a dead hawk on the side of the road. Hit by a car while it was trying to lift off with its prey.
Scott you have a real skill i wish I had . I hunt wild game every year I field dress it but I pay to have it processed. I get better every year but it doesn't look the easy job you did .all I can say man
My dog was sitting beside me for the whole video .. staring at the screen xD No idea how I ended up here but for some reason this was interesting to watch
With all of that intricate work to cut up the rabbit I see why people put the whole carcas into a pot and get on with it! It looks amazing as that meat log, your work always comes out very nice!
Brilliant! Since watching my first of your videos yesterday, I have found a supplier for rabbit today and have two in the freezer ready to start experimenting with - thank you Scott!
Good Day sir. I would like to share my gladness that I found your channel. High respect to you sir because of sharing your knowledge and skills on how to butcher this magnificent meat. . It's a blessing in disguise that I found your channel it will help me as I plan to breed to market rabbits in the Philippines. I love the way you present the series of videos on prepping that rabbit. I'm a new subscriber and enjoy your content sir. More power to you. From Kuwait 🇰🇼 🇰🇼🇰🇼
Great work mate, I think il give this a shot soon as just got access to another property packed full of rabbits quail and ducks. Thinking a bacon lattice on the boned out rabbit and a bit of spit time.
That was so amazing. Thank you so much for doing this video. I learned where I made my mistakes and you taught me how to make it go a bit faster next time.
Awesome video, my son-in-law wants to have rabbit for Thanksgiving along with baked ham and of course Turkey. I will be sure to remove the musk gland. Thanks from across the pond.
I just bought a rabbit yesterday for $30. In Canada, when I was a teenager, it was was easy to set collar traps in the winter. You could see where the rabbit goes by his path in the snow. You place the trap near a tree you can see he likes to go by. Check all the traps at least once a day. It's less critical in the winter, because the worst that happens is you find a frozen rabbit, not a rotting one.
Thank you for another excellent video and lesson. While seeing your 'close call' it might be nice to hear an occasional sentence or two on how to work the knife safely throughout the process. I had to learn the hard way, too many scars on the fingers of my left hand.
Don't forget the Catapult.. I have had a catapult since i was 8 years old. i'm now in my 60s ..I shot and sold many a Rabbit to my local butcher as a young lad. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS .. 👍🏻 & - SUB'D
Ha! I laughed at the caption "Reactions of a Cobra" -you're one of a kind, Scott. The best food channel on youtube by far. Sincerely, a fan from Texas, USA
Thank you for slowing it down. :) Very useful. Those 'floating' ribs are always tricky for me for some reason. Guess I need more practice. Oh, as a side note. Trying to get one of those semi flex knives of a major online retailer is like playing the lotto. They are always running out. Can't help but think you and your channel might have something to do with it. LOL
Hey Scott , was that Royal Marines video the series on the Mountain nd Arctic warfare cadre? It's a great series, one of the reasons I wanna join the RM, it's on TH-cam and you should link it!

Absolutely the best boned rabbit video on the internet.
North American cook here saying thank you for this video. I've only had locally farmed rabbit a few times so far but I've never found a proper instructional on how to debone them properly.
Scott, it is always a true pleasure to watch you work. I have the highest amount of respect for you and your skills.
Love this! My pops was a military survival instructor so eating worms and grubs was a game we played as I was growing up…he’d point at something and say ‘That’s edible you know…’, which was a thinly veiled dare to eat it.
Scott your videos are all so great, I periodically come back to these for reference and they are endlessly helpful
