Valley, I know I’m not the only one that would love to see an updated version of this! That would be really cool, especially with how the meta has changed and there have been a ton of new characters added since then, including some legendaries. Keep up the awesome work brotha!
I’ve gotten caught trying to farm and chase events. I’ve been throwing resources at shocker last minute to try and get 3 star rewards for current event. Before that I was throwing resources into previously ignored hero-controllers to get event rewards.
I hope I can have the discipline to focus on a few rather than spreading my resources like I have been.

The only thing I'd interject is the following: in regards to the Blitz store, over the long term, it is FAR smarter to spend 350 Blitz credits on the orbs that also give some gold as opposed to 500 Blitz credits for 5 shards of one specific character. The same can also be said for the Raid Store for 900 Raid credits per orb as opposed to 1,400 for 5 character shards.
Even if the RNG gods aren't in your favor with orb openings, both orbs will allow you to expand your roster efficiently and be better in the long haul. Agree?
Absolutely agree. That's what I'm doing. Raid characters take forever to farm but almost everyone of them is useful. So, great value overall.
I agree to a degree. I think it's fine to focus farm (blitz ) a crucial character as needed for a bit, like getting those last few gamora or mantis shards for that 5th star for your Star Lord unlock. So, I agree 99%. Far more efficient to get the orbs. Even More so for the Raid orbs than Blitz
I would definitely agree about blitz, and it also is the only way to farm rescue. Raid on the other hand I wouldn't do, the math just barely works out in the long run, given the amount of truly useless(or node farmable) characters in the raid store, but usually raid characters are the one you lag behind on anyways, so you're basically resigning yourself to missing every legendary event till long after you could've gotten them, while in blitz you can afford to buy mostly orbs and just enough shards to keep current with your node farmed characters.
best ROI long time - maybe.
but in reality, it will slow down important progress on RR, kree oracle, drax, gamora etc. which you will regret not having. also you want only 5-6 out of 16 toons in blitz store (also gold), 8/15 in raid store. so 50-60% of drops will be wasted.
Great guide. Since you released this video last year I've been able to get every legendary (except Phoenix and Blackbolt). Still working on Phoenix unlock. Looking forward to an updated version of this guide. Thanks for all the work you put into this guide.

I’m intrigued in all these farming videos no one talks about the leveling and tier ratio. Ez to say grind a character to 6 stars but when should you stop the tier cap before moving on to the next phase? Or level?
I absolutely agree. Stars are not enough.
Specially because in this game what makes the character really grows are his abilities levels, not the star count. Sure stars up the stats, but 7* ability 1 is not good, but ability 4-5 and 3-4* is great... I've noticed it myself. Not just that but how many refreshes should we do? Should we refresh at all the nodes? Spend 300 tokens just for the one toon? The economy fails when one day you farm 4 shards but in the other you farm none...

Great guide and attitude. It's pretty simple and can be followed by anyone since each phase barely uses your daily energy. Just wanted to mention that if the player doesnt have a 5 star wolverine by phase 4 he's whaling too hard!

This is a great guide but a couple of more tips. Don't sleep on Block Party and Payday Events. Block Party with 7 star unlock gets you orange ability mats which you're going to need. Gold is the biggest crunch in the game. I slept on the Payday event so right now I am going hard on my merc team which I let languish at 4 stars which just isn't enough gold for that event when I'm stalled all the time cause I don't have the Gold to max out my toons. Good Video but if it is truly for new players: maybe instead of saying 'you will unlock StarLord at the end of phase 2, say instead 'you will be able to unlock StarLord when his event comes around' just to avoid confusion for new players who may see this and finish phase 2 and wonder where the hell their StarLord is (same with other legends).... just a suggestion.

*warning long post* Hi @ValleyFlyin I think for most people they was so happy to have a Marvel game, that had a lot of there favour Character's. I know I was. That we just when for it, unlocking as many Character's as possible on FTP. To find Yourself with a ton of useless Character's unable to do any thing. Like myself unable to get passed Villains as none of my Villains are strong enough to do so. My top 5 by star rank. Crossbones (3 red * 2 yellow) Kree Royal Guard ( 4 yellow *) Elektra (3 yellow *) Yondou ( 2 red 1 yellow *) Hand Archer ( 2 red 1 yellow *). So when along came @ValleyFlyin with His top of the glass tips and guide's. Including not one but two FTP Farming Guide's. Thanks to them my Defender's are now. Luke Cage ( 3 red, 1 yellow *) Daredevil ( 4 yellow *) Jessica Jones ( 3 yellow *) Iron Fist ( 2 yellow *) Publisher ( 3 Yellow *) @ValleyFlyin do you have any though or Suggestion. Iv been playing for 6 months and this just made me realize the bs design of this game. They want you to be slow crawling for years .
Yeah, are you a F2P as well? Exactly, I stoped being so competitive in arena and blitz, staying around top 1000 in my bracket . I am being a good team player and just working on raids and alliance wars.
There’s no point being so competitive at all , SWGOH has turned out to be P2W now.
Superheroes_Sodding_Handsome I mean yeah I see that, but I’ve been playing for a year and consistently get around 500 in arena, and 60-25 in blitz, it’s not the best, but I’m still f2p so 🤷♂️
In fairness, that’s not inherently bad game design. In a game designed around constant self improvement, that means nothing if it comes easily and the game will pass way too quick.

Thanks for all your content as somebody who started in August. I'm a little clueless as to what gear rank to take these teams to and at what pace/percent of my daily energy investment should be gear.
I'd really like to know if anything would be changed for the way the game is now. In your current videos you have mentioned how good AIM and how Sinister 6 isn't much good but for the Legendary unlocks.

Good tips but I'm a little dissappointed at your lack of mention of the importance of Dark dimension
Defenders should be brought up to 6* to start ETD and get the most out of those mega orbs, guardians provide good members for FTD and by the time you're on your phase 4 with a little bit of luck you should have Minn-Erva

Hello ValleyFin, just want to say thank you for all the videos you do, they are super helpful. I am a new player, 20 days in just hit level 50 this morning, and I found this video and noticed it is a little out to date. With the new update later today I was wondering if you would keep everything the same or would you change anything? Also i have been very lucky with my orbs and have a lot of "teams" mostly unlocked and I have been trying to spread my resources evenly. Lastly I know you want to have your teams at 5 stars, 6 to get Phoenix, but what tier of armor would you recommend to go to? Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and again thank you for all of the fantastic videos you do.
Awesome work. I wish I realized this guide existed when I first started! Why is it recommended to get the minimum stars to unlock as opposed to 7 stars? I would think that it would be better to 7 star brotherhood for example since winning in arena gives you power cores which let you snowball further?
What you are saying is true. There are many different ways to build your roster and none of them are wrong. The main purpose of this guide is to unlock the legendaries as quick as possible and if that is your goal then 5 stars (or 6 for Phoenix) is all you need.

You should put in teams to build for each campaign. I know a lot of newer players have no idea who to farm for mystic campaigns and cant get to where they can farm loki

On each character you've said get them to 5*, before pregressing to next phase. What Gear Tier should would you recommend getting the toons to?
Been playin since launch get everyone to gear 4 to unlock all their abilities end game u want gear 9 plus hope that helps.
I think blitz orbs should be a priority, the bonus gold and all round characters, Luke cage also has a node.
Can you make a video about how to play catch-up and what characters to invest in? I downloaded it a while ago but just recently got into it again and I don't know where to even begin
I just found this and think it is great. Has anything changed in the game since this came out that would shift stuff around? I have been guided to farming kree before sinister since caulson came out. Thoughts?
There are some other good teams that came around since the guide like Supernatural but the main purpose of the guide is to get the legendaries as quick as possible and if that is your goal, I still think the guide gives you the fastest route.

i would still argue Kree minions after Defenders earlier easier farmable than Guardians and gives u Villian and cosmic team (more of PvE i guess)maybe i am bit bias i got ME and Ronan on it
drax, mantis, gamora - are quick store farms, youndu and groot are early accessible (and groot is mandatory long term anyway). it is much easier than farming kree oracle in a raid store. I started farming kree first, than side farmed guardians and as of today I have guardians ready for SL and kree are all around 3-4 stars. so in no way kree are easier.
Thanks Valleyflyin for this. Before this I was putting resources into random characters. But now i have built up my defenders, after 4 months to 120k. Im now ready for the starlord event, when that comes back I can finally unlock him. Plus I have 3 mutants at 5*. So hopefully i can get magneto soon. But could you please let me know if I need around 1500 blue and purple mats to be confident upgrading abilities? I only have around 400 each and dont want to waste them. Thanks again dude. Only use the blues and purples on the characters you are currently building and building in the background. Save the rest.
After a while you’ll have enough of a surplus where the blues and purples won’t matter and you won’t have to be as selective.

You could save up 150 if you for the orbs to build up for some extra... so whats your advice? Thanks great videos btw!!

Thanks for the update. Technically Rescue is farmable via blitz orbs. While not reliable I’ve managed to get her to 3* already after her blitz event, almost 4*.
And when and what should I focus for ETD?
Can you do a video for beginners who have the defenders, and what abilities to lvl up first?
What do you think about getting blitz orbs instead of specific characters after doing 5* Luke Cage?
Same with raid currency
You'll get a decent amount of gold for blitz orbs and more shards with raid orbs, will help newer players long term.
The orb luck is the wild card in this which he purposely said he was omitting. I think going for orbs in blitz and raid is reasonable until you get 7 star for some of them. Then that starts getting Ultimus shards which might be good until you have too many 7 star and then start getting backward progression with Ultimus shards.
I was doing blitz orbs exclusively during 2 month, and had some progress. then I switched to shards and quickly upped everyone that I needed. looking back I regret buying orbs, as I don't care about most characters there. when they added rescue with higher drop rate, it is even less appealing than before.
Should’ve mentioned you’d also get Iron Man in phase 5

Also a good reason to wait until later for Phoenix is you have to farm and build trash characters to 6*. Not beneficial to newer players at all
@ValleyFlyin Just curious, is there a reason why you suggest only one character per campaign to farm at a time if you recommend to not refresh unless your speed farming?
how high should i up my gear & level for each of the phases?
If i reached 5* already should I just move on to the next phase or focus on farming gear for the current phase?
ZmirBurger that is what I did. Getting 500 shards for six and seven star for each team takes forever. Get an unlock for each event character and then work on getting them upgrade in subsequent events. Then you’ll have more feasible teams.

Why aren’t you wanting to farm Gamora shards as opposed to Mantis shards for 2nd phase in blitz store? You Can use Gamora to unlock Star Lord. Are you recommending using mantis, rocket, groot, and drax w/ star lord as opposed to Gamora once unlocked?
that's why you are farming Yondu, you can use him but i got Gamora and Mantis to 5 star
no no no no if you F2P this game, dont do this. The biggest bottleneck is gold, is useless to unlock all toons if you dont have gold to level them up. i have being playing the game for 450~ days and im lacking a lot of gold. my wakandans, my S6, my FF, my AIM and another bunch of random toons are all at level 1. i just dont have the gold, even tho im usually at top 5 in arena and do get those important cores. always go for the blitz orb, always go for the toon shards raid orb. mercenaries (DP, korath, M.lt, R.guard, killmonger), city heroes(IF, DD, LC, JJ, MM or pun) and hand(nobu, HAss, Harch, HS, electra) to 7* ASAP they are long term best investment.
Can you make a video on what f2p villains to start with for the villains campaign....i have crossbones and yondu but not sure who to use for other 3
I've started defenders and guardians but I don't have a strong team to do the villains campaign. I've only managed to unlock Yondu so far and my other stronger Villains are Crossbones and Elektra, I also have Nebula and Bullseye but if not sure if they're worth spending resources on. Who else should I start building up for the campaign?

When first starting, how often do you farm those first couple? I'm new to the game and don't really know how to properly manage my recourses like energy and cores. Should I use my cores to refresh the nodes and if so, how many times?
The best place to use cores is for energy refreshes.
If I’m trying to farm a character quickly I will refresh the nodes but that doesn’t happen to often.

I get why I'd want invisible woman and shuri.. but if I'm new and don't have the fantastic 4 or wakanda they don't help much. The wakanda team isn't even that good. Idk..I like sinister 6 add a stand alone team but they are down past brohood and fury-shield in the meta.

I enjoy your videos, but one question I have and the biggest set back I get from the game is shared drops. Maybe I am just unlucky, but it seems like I can spend all my energy trying to farm a character and barely get 2 shards. Is this normal? I want to enjoy playing and leveling up my teams, but it seems a bit ridiculous to not be able to do anything after spending all my energy and not getting a payoff for it.

5 is what you need for the legendaries so that’s why they say to get there. All but pheonix. She is 6 Stars.
If you are looking for getting these legendaries as quick as possible, yes. You’re eventually gonna need build them all up past 5 stars at some point tho.

Does anyone think they will make starlord a 3* unlock, after or before iron man event finishes? Also will iron man become farmable after his event ends?
