Thanks Leo. Every day I check youtube for your videos. I always find them very useful and amazingly well explained in a slow way of clarifying things . Amazing video.
I have used system restore successfully more times than I can count. I have been working as an IT professional for 30 years. I just want to put that out there because it's important that people have different opinions on these things.
I was having that kind of problem for months until decided to update the drivers manually from Device Manager and it worked, there were a few drivers outdated, including the firmware, so my laptop went from Windows 10 1909 to 21H1.
Nope... unfortunately with my system (running on a Raid-1 configuration) - winver 1909, each time Windows will revert after the restart. None of the fixes work ie SFC, DISM & Windows Troubleshooter - No Errors. Utterly frustrating.
Following your advice. First, I found the version on my computer is 1903 by typing WINVER in that search bar (lower left corner). Did update and it locked up at 91%. Put it into repair mode. Documenting process (short videos).
I just had a weird update that said they successfully installed without requiring a restart. So I went ahead and tried pausing updates for a week, but it caused the menu to hang and I had to restart to correct it. Then it took a long while before it began the update process during the restart. And only the Cumulative update is missing from the update history, so I don't know if it was actually successful.
Watched the vid and it's helpful for people with quality update issues...I've been trying to update my desktop with feature win 10 22H2. Everything has failed...It downloads, installs and then tells me undoing changing. The update worked on my other desktop. FYI...I've stopped the windows update service and backward intelligent transfer service. I then cleared the software distribution folder, then reran the update with the same results. Is there something I can do to make this worked?
There are story that Windows 10 Update cause to lose personal data. My laptop has two partition, OS and Data. It is safe to use Windows 10 Update Assistant (version 1607). I remember that it failed due to an error I can't recall. I think it is best to try it again. W10 Update tends to be invasive, there are stories they perform an update without user consent. I haven't update my Laptop since 2019 (though to be 2017), thinking it reached its maximum update. I am in doubt. I won't something bad happened to my computer. I used it for 6-7 years. I think the update will repair that Corrupted Profile problem.
Hey leo! I seem to have the exact same problem but nothing seems to work. What ever i try it says it was unsuccessful. I’ll be grateful if you can help.
@@askleonotenboom I'm having that same problem. The update loads to about 10% the restarts two times then says undoing changes made to the computer. Then in settings under Windows Update it says some files are missing or have problems, error code: (0x80070003)
I am trying to download Minecraft launcher but it says I need to update windows and everytime I do the update and finish the update I log back in and it says I have to do it all over again
I had a really weird problem. Nothing wanted to work, not even reinstalling Windows with a USB or CD worked. After spending pretty much 2 full Day´s i remembered i could try to update my bios and suddenly the Windows Media creation Tool worked.
No, and I don't plan to for some time. It's nowhere near ready for general use, the pre-release has been exceptionally confused, and it may not even work on many people's machines. IMO it's not worth wasting any time on right now.
Just remember, people, ANYONE can make a TH-cam video and call themselves a tech. This isn't how you fix a Windows update failed. Maybe a long way to get to last resort tools at best.
My process back to a working machine.
Sir I have a problem in windows 10 it always says windows can't finish update when I update restart
@@haux522 The video you just commented on has my advice.
@@askleonotenboom Thank you sir

Which driver you updated from Device Manager ?
@@solemare4130 I updated each one of them (they are a lot) but I found many drivers that needed update (including the firmware).

Isn't pressing F8(may be wrong F-) an option?
Unfortunately that seems to have been removed.
Uhh can you help me know how to fix Undoing changes made to your computer?
Not without knowing the changes you're talking about.

Very true. ANYONE can leave random comments too. :-) So, what's the supposedly "right" way to fix Windows Update Failed?
