Thanks Euro trucker for the stunning pictures. In the seventies I spend every summer and winter holidays in Tyrol with the Sappl family in Breitenbach Am Inn. I love the mountains and the gorgrgeous scenery!!!!! Also the way houses are build in the Alps, By the way I am Dutch. My sports were Cycling and Cross-country skiing. My wish was to go and live in Austria with my family. At the time I was 32 years of age and a builder. Europe was not unified during that time. I had everything organized, a place to live and work with the help of the Sappl family. So, I went to the Labour department in Worgl first and later to Innsbruck to apply for a work permit and to apply for immigration Visa's. However, I was told that they were unable to issue me with a work permit because at that time the unemployment rate was 19% in Austria!!!! This was a huge disappointment for me as I love Tyrol and the Alps, so on our way home from our 1980 summer holiday I decided to immigrate to Canada, Australia or New Zealand as I wanted to get away from an overpopulated Holland with the enormous traffic problems!!! After some research I decided to immigrate to New Zealand because New Zealand got the Southern Alps. My application was successful and 18 months later we arrived in New Zealand. I am here now 42 years. New Zealand is also gorgeous and beautiful, however in a totally different way regarding the scenery. Also, the way of living is different what is an English style. I loved the Austrian Style with especially the Tyroler Abent!!! Although I am happy here, seeing your videos still gives me that feeling I should have been there in Tyrol!!!!! Cheerz!! from down under NZ
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I loved reading it-you captured your emotions so vividly that I could truly feel them. The Alps certainly have a way of capturing the heart. It’s completely normal to feel nostalgic and wonder how life might have unfolded if you’d gotten that job in Austria back then. But I truly believe everything happens for a reason, and it sounds like New Zealand has given you a beautiful life in its own unique way. What do you think?
Yeah absolutely, exploring the southern Alps was amazing. I have done most of the hikes/tramps on the South Island and also sailing was something I discovered through my friend Dave, was/is a wonderful experience. I was crowned Provincial champion road cycling in 1984. But I am most proud of all what it has done for my 2 children in regard to sport and work. Especially the outdoors they love enormously!!! They both adore New Zealand and the opportunities they had to develop themselves.!!! They were 5 and 8 when we got here. My oldest became a multiple winner in triathlons all around the country and has become a general manager of a big transport company. My youngest loves the snow and became South Island champion snowboarding Half/pipe. He followed my footsteps and is a self-employed builder!! So, for that reason I am a very proud father especially after they told me on several occasions how happy they are that I took them to New Zealand. For me that is mission accomplished!!! Okay mate Cheerz!! and I look forward to more of your videos!!@@EuroTruckerAdventures
@@joskewolfman it looks like you're a great father and your children payed you back with what you deserve - you can be proud of them! I'm happy to read your words and I wish to all of you happiness and a long life! Thank you for watching my videos!
The landscapes are incredible and so many long tunnels. Much better than climbing these mountains. Thanks for the tour of the tunnels of Austria's Tyrol 👍
Hello Euro Trucker, you are right the tunnels are outstanding and so well constructed too. I've never seen such amazing mountains and trees in all my travels. This is a beautiful place to work and travel in. Very good highways as well. The camera placement gave me a front row seat. You out did yourself on this video and I thank you for presenting it to us. 👍👍👍
I'm happy you liked the camera placement, I tried to capture the best view! 🙂 if you can also share some my video with your friends or in some local group - would be perfect! I would be very grateful
Danke für das tolle Video, super finde ich auch, dass einfach alle Geräusch drumherum mit drauf sind... 😃(nicht wie bei anderen irgendwelche blöde Musik...)
thank you! The camera is mounted slightly to the left of the truck dashboard's center, which might make it seem like it's positioned over the other lane. Does it bring you any discomfort?
