My girls were raised on Em. Basically, there wasn’t a thing a bully could say that would phase them. They learned that words and actions are very very different things and words only have power if you give it to them. They’re 22 and 23 now. This is one of their favorites.

Glad to see you back!! This song is interesting because it set a world record for Hallie as the youngest performer on a hip hop track that charted and the youngest performer on a diamond album. Since she has a feature credit, she has made a lot of money in royalties, making her well off in her own right. From a business standpoint it was a smart move by Marshall to provide for her even if his career didn’t last. Along with establishing Shady Records and owning his masters, his man Paul, who was a personal injury lawyer in Detroit, has helped him make really good business decisions.

I was in highschool when Eminem signed to interscope records and dropped "The Slim Shady LP", my mom bought me that uncensored album (probably because she used to listen to nwa on vinyl and knew I'd like it, that or she did it just to piss off my hyper religious relatives🤷) and I've been a fan ever since. I was still in highschool when this album came out and this track really solidified the fact that Eminem was a hip-hop goat for me.

And then this masterpiece came out.
