Was listening to various interviews with Lucien. Been a member of the TST for a few months or so. Been to the temple/art gallery in Salem. It was a very cool place to visit and lots of stuff to check out.
What's so hard to understand? Religious abuse is a real thing, growing up in fundie culture (of any religion) does harm to a child. We all have SOME scars, even little ones. If you were harmed by some environment or group or person, then afterward their image (face, logo, name, sound, fkin theme song, whatever) would be sour in your memory. It's that simple.
You can relax. Nobody hates your favorite fictional character. Reasonable adults know that would be silly. Still, if that character or something about him creeps her out, that's perfectly understandable.

I love these interviews. The only thing I will say is that Amber's views of Christians are so biased based upon her own experiences and it's unfortunate she's obviously had more negative experiences than positive. Not every "Christian" or "Muslim" or even "Satanist" will be the same carbon copy of each other. I would never judge someone based upon what they believe , because as Lucien said there are people within these religions that are far more open minded, non-judgemental and compassionate. i really resonate with you amber, as i grew up with no religion or higher power and have felt so isolated in this world and from others because of this. i’ve bounced around between atheist and agnostic, as i have come around to understand god as multiple things. i wish i had an opportunity to talk to you as someone who has had no religious influence!!
This idea of freedom of religion in America is super important. America was founded by pilgrims seeking freedom from religious persecution, and were practicing christians who adhered to a slightly different denomination and called it by a different name. Where they were escaping from, they were treated as "satanists" are often treated, as though they are going against what is established to be the "right" religion. It would be different if America didn't claim freedom of religion, but America does claim freedom of religion, so therefore just like judaism and islam and other non-abrahamic religions such as hinduism and jainsim there must be some admissions made for satanism, especially with a growing population. Of course, deeper considerations need to be made for those impacted, but at its core the concept stands.

Apophasis can serve various purposes, often dependent on the relationship of the speaker to the addressee and the extent of their shared knowledge. well , I think if you want to debate the right to be a satanist politically , that is one conversation . But you cannot bend satanism or rewrite what it means historically , which is evil ... and so I would be careful with what you are doing . I know you want to be free from superstition , but I don't think this is the way to go about that . But , yeah it goes back to freedom , and you should have it .
