Loving the videos ..... but. ... sorry I can’t agree on the black trim. I have painted chrome trim before. It was a nightmare, chipped easily, wish I hadn’t done it. Always touching it up. Personally the chrome trim matches the windows, badges and door handles. Only my personal opinion, loving the honesty on the channel though 👍
Mark as you can see after many years of wanting a mini copper I finally got one. Best fun I’ve had in years, you’ll love it great fun to drive. Great vlog as ever from Resurwreck Autos Uk. Keep them coming.
Really liking this mini Mark . Like you I have not seen one with the body mouldings colour coded, it sets it off great . But I do like my chrome lol enough said each to their own
Did you key all the chrome before you painted it, only asking cos you didn’t say whether you did. If not the paint will come off really easily and look tatty very quickly.
Luvin your work normally but to me this is one step forward and two bodges backwards for this car. Hand painted calipers look shite, and if you did not prep those chrome parts and painted straight over them with just a clean that paint will fall off quicker than and X Factor winners celeb status.
If painting callipers for them to look good a full strip down media blast and spray but if going to them lengths may as well just get them powder coated I do agree it’s a bit racer bodge from the max power days hand painted on the car callipers 🙈
I think this car is a little beauty I love the trim you have painted in black that is what would have ed done you will sell that car all day over again it's like new mate very sporty looking the colour is right a lady might be your buyer let me know if a lady buys it great video again Phil in stoke
Did you give them chrome bits a light flat with fine paper or a scotch pad Mark? I actually prefer satin black to the chrome, but once you start with them bits, you should really do all the chrome, inc handles, petrol cap etc, but it is looking rather smart mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mark, I hope you don't mind me commenting on this but I love the change to the light surrounds, I have added your channel to the Cars UK media list today on MediaSteamer.com
I like the black paint but not sure how long it will last in good condition over chrome long term? Red calipers look cool too, what really would finish the car off is to get the wheels refurbed and painted in black to match (Looks like the drivers side rear wheel has some nasty curbing on it anyway) It would make those red calipers pop like Dorothy's shoes in Kansas! lol
Mark in the last few frames of the backend of the Mini, do you thing it would look better with the radio aerial replaced with a ‘sharks fin’ style one? They are dirt cheap off eBay (less than a tenner) and I believe they work quite well too. I’ll confirm that very soon when the one I’ve ordered arrives and I fit to my car. Love the videos.
Nice car, good luck with your venture I had the same change of career over 30 years ago. General rule of thumb though never digress from standard spec, your personal taste may not be your buyer's taste and you are wasting your time and money. This is now your living not your hobby. Good luck, I admire your honesty and commitment.
The first (original) mini rolled off the production line in 1959. It was a VERY small car compared to the current ones, just shows how innovative they were and probably more reliable too! As always Mark, interesting stuff. Thanks
Hi mate, love the car! Thinking of doing the same to mine. Was just wondering if the paint chipped off the chrome panels like everyone’s saying? I saw that you sanded them before hand so I couldn’t imagine it being an issue. If not could you also let me know what spray paint you used on them? Cheers
I think boredom got the better of you mark, calipers painted yeah tidies them up, could make it a bit boy racerish but the chrome painted black noooooo that's just going to peel off and look a mess mate, don't mean to offend but you did ask, I'd of spent the time instead detailing the engine bay.
@@ResurwreckAutosUK understand what your saying mate, just thought with fuel cap and window capping being chrome you've sort of mashed it up a little, I suppose it's a marmite moment mate, and good on you for trying things and going with your heart.

Wow just the little things that brighten the car up what a great job your doing can’t wait to see what’s next👍
Hi Paul thanks buddy nice one 👍👍
Really liking this mini Mark . Like you I have not seen one with the body mouldings colour coded, it sets it off great . But I do like my chrome lol enough said each to their own
Hi Rich the colour coded really makes this mini pop i love this one 👍👍
great idea blacking out the chrome, hope it doesn't flake
Brilliant video mr Ron seal 👍👍👍👍good idea with the black trim parts I just hope it don’t flake off 🙏
Hi Rick thanks buddy i did key before with sand paper and i will paint with clear lacquer so might be ok 👍👍
The upgrades with the red paint really makes it pop and the black surrounds cheers Stephen
Hi Stephen thanks buddy it's looking good now 👍👍
Lovely little car Mark, but I don’t think that the paint will stay on the chrome!
Painting chrome is a no go. It will peel in weeks to come. Love your vids though 😁👍
Get someone to put vinyl on the chrome.
nice car and nice to see a few personal touches personally I am a fan of the chrome on Mini’s but don’t blame you for trying to do something different
Simon Harding Hi Simon thanks for the comment nice one buddy 👍👍
Did you key all the chrome before you painted it, only asking cos you didn’t say whether you did. If not the paint will come off really easily and look tatty very quickly.
Hi mate yes i did key it with a bit of sand paper hopefully it stays on 👍👍
Plastidip may have been better
Shane Brown hi Shane never heard of that thanks for the info 👍👍
It can be pealed off if you don’t like it or it begins to look tired it is good stuff have a google 👍
Shane Brown Thanks Shane I will 👍👍
Is it not easier getting them wrapped in black vinyl? You could do the middle chrome trim too? Just a thought
HI Tom thanks buddy 👍👍
Looking good mate 👌 nice little mini 👍 should get good return hopefully.
HI mate thanks buddy hopefully a nice return nice one 👍👍
Imagine a 250lb man in work boots stamping on your toes every time you say yes... LOL keep up the good work. I want red callipers now!!!
Looks great
Pete Neal Thanks Pete 👍👍
I like the colour coded exterior trim. Looks so much more classy than the black plastics
Hi Peter you are right i like it that way as well nice one buddy 👍👍
Luvin your work normally but to me this is one step forward and two bodges backwards for this car. Hand painted calipers look shite, and if you did not prep those chrome parts and painted straight over them with just a clean that paint will fall off quicker than and X Factor winners celeb status.
HI mate thanks for your honest opinion painting calipers are not to every one taste and yes i did key the plastic chrome first
If painting callipers for them to look good a full strip down media blast and spray but if going to them lengths may as well just get them powder coated I do agree it’s a bit racer bodge from the max power days hand painted on the car callipers 🙈
Shane Brown 😂😂max power days wow I remember them days this paint is left over so I thought why not just use it 👍👍
Really enjoying your content mate
Craig Pearson Nice one thanks Craig 👍👍
I think this car is a little beauty I love the trim you have painted in black that is what would have ed done you will sell that car all day over again it's like new mate very sporty looking the colour is right a lady might be your buyer let me know if a lady buys it great video again

I would have done them gloss black .but going to be a smart looking car what is happening with the fiesta is it sold.
HI Edward i will paint clear lacquer over the parts to make them shine and no fiesta not sold yet might need to drop the price nice one buddy 👍👍
Hi mark the mini is coming along really well now
Hi Ben thanks buddy 👍👍
Well Mark paint will flake off the chrome you could vinyl wrap it will be a better job easy to do also
HI Oliver a lot of people are saying that i did key it with sand paper might be ok 👍👍
That mini is looking really good now I would definitely keep hold of that one if you can 👍👍
Hi Colin i would love too keep but most move on and up 👍👍so it's up for sale when finished
I'll see if anyone I know wants a mini mate 👍👍
Looks good with the black trim but would look even better with the Crome trim under the windows in satin black as well 👌👍
HI Paul someone else said that might get some tape from ebay for around the windows 👍👍
Resurwreck Autos UK sounds like a plan mark 👍
Callipers and grills look good, fiesta still not sold, thought that would go very quick.
HI Malc thanks buddy and no mate fiesta still not sold might need to drop the price 👍👍

HI mate i did key them with sand paper first just a lite rub all over i will spray them with lacquer clear to make them shine 👍👍
You have to prime Chrome before painting it then once you paint it got to put a lacquer over it to seal it and makes it shiny black
Hi Steven i did key them with sand paper first and i do have some clear lacquer do you think use that on them 👍👍
Resurwreck Autos UK yes
@Steven Miller Thanks for the help 👍👍
No problem let me know how it looks once you have done it mate
Steven Miller nice one Steve probably do a video so you can see me messing it up 😂👍👍
Hi Mark, I hope you don't mind me commenting on this but I love the change to the light surrounds, I have added your channel to the Cars UK media list today on MediaSteamer.com

You might have stood a better chance of the paint sticking if you would have keyd the chrome but like others have said it will more and likely peel
HI Michael i did key the parts before painting and will paint clear lacquer over all the parts
@@ResurwreckAutosUK Good luck👍

HI John thanks for the info if you can let me know if it works ok might change my one thanks buddy 👍👍
I am also interested how this turns out I have a mini and I have always liked the look of the shark finns

Gary Know Hi Gary thanks I think so aswell nice one buddy 👍👍

Hi mate, mini is looking good!!!...not sure about the chrome painting though but those calipers are really cool.👍Keep up the good work mate. 👍🙂
Hi Steve thanks buddy 👍👍
I think that Mini would be quite desirable & I'd ask good money for it👌You used your number plates on the Mini after the 1st take🤔😂
I think boredom got the better of you mark, calipers painted yeah tidies them up, could make it a bit boy racerish but the chrome painted black noooooo that's just going to peel off and look a mess mate, don't mean to offend but you did ask, I'd of spent the time instead detailing the engine bay.
Hi Dave thanks for your opinion buddy i'm going to clear lacquer all the parts i have done and i did key before painting 👍👍
