These bags are amazing! We don't have anything like that over here in New Zealand. There IS a thing called Foodprint but it only offers reduced price individual items and a limited number of them. Quite what happens with items in bakeries, etc, I don't know. I suspect they get sold cheaply the following day. If they adopted the approach of Too Good to Go, I know a lot of low income families would be better able to feed themselves and not so dependent on hand-outs. I suspect there are hidden regulations preventing this concept being introduced though - our government does a lot of crazy things.
I would hope that government policy wouldn't prevent something like this which could help save food waste and provide lower cost food to people who might need it, that would be insane !

There are some places in the States on the app, mostly in the bigger cities East and West Coasts I think... it would be helpful to low income households if it was more widely adopted I reckon !

Great value for money. Where I live, there's really only Co Op on there, never get Greggs come up. Have a great weekend 😊
I live in a fairly rural location, there are lots of options if I set to the maximum 30km radius, but not much actually that close. All are a drive away

That's great - I think it's a system that can work well for everyone, the business and the consumer. I'd imagine there are a lot of lower income families who could really benefit from it.

Fair play if you're watching the pennies these are probably great buys but.....
The first thing Northerners notice about the South is it's Greggs or nothing and we hate them , there's only one worse called Pound Bakery and I'm sure you get the idea 🤣
Don't get me wrong I love the South but always have a list of pies and pasties we have to transport down to feed the addiction of those we love who miss their artisan fayre.
That's fair enough - I'm not claiming Gregg's is some culinary hotbed, but it's a solid basic option for those of us addicted to baked goods!

Wow, here in Ireland, one of those baguettes would cost more than a whole Greggs magic bag. Such great value for money.

New sub. I was in Greggs (as I do most fridays) to pick up a 4-pack of their Jam Doughnuts. Since that, on its own, costs £2.85 that goodie bag is amazing value

This is definitely a bargain. I also think Starbucks is also quite good. I got a Tuna Melt Panini, a Pain au Chocolat, a Fruit Toast, a Muffin and a Croissant for 2.99 the other day.
That Starbucks one does sound a good deal. I've not reviewed one of thir TGTG bags on the channel yet - I guess I should sometime!

One of the things I miss living in Malaysia is a good sandwich. The bread they use is weird here (sweet) and although Subway is here, its rubbish whereever you are in the world. I miss a Greggs Steak Slice (fresh out of the oven) a decent Cornish Pasty and of course a proper sandwich. We do have dam good donuts though.
Have you thought about investing in a bread maker? I have one, and it actually makes half decent bread. That could fix the sandwich cravings maybe?

I am lucky we have many other options, just that sandwiches are not one of them.
I love Greggs. My main stop on a walk. Weatherspoons is my other choice.
Gregg's is always a solid option - you know what you're going to get!

Hi Greeno. You should get to the Greggs outlet in Southampton. It’s better value than the magic bags. I used to live around the corner. I’m popping there later. It’s all stock left from the shops and things that may not look the best. For example 4 sausages rolls are £1.50. You need to ben there before 11 as they sell out quickly.
I didn't even know they had one of these in Southampton, that's good to know, next time I head in that direction I'll be sure to check it out ! Thanks for the tip

@@theabandonedhunter3604 No real occasion - just with the Euros being on (and no chance of getting tickets) I thought I would do something else for it. Going to watch Austria v France in a Vienna fanpark... then Hungary v Germany from somewhere in Hungary, followed by Slovakia v Ukraine in Bratislava on Friday.
That pasty shows why there are no Greggs in Cornwall

Have you downloaded the "Too Good To Go" App? They're listed on there, and generally made ready for collection in the last 30 mins of the store being open.

Are you sure about freshness,, since outlet gets stuff from places and sell next day. since collected at night and delivered the next morning to the outlet.
yes its good value but not all put the same thing in every where.

Outlet 4 sausage rolls are £1.79 any 2 pasties are like £1.40. sandwich 60p baget £1.40
In my area all the normal high street kind of outlets have bags at £2.59 - the ones in garages / service stations are £3.15 - I am not sure they are making a profit on the bags - I think they are getting some kind of return on items they would otherwise put in the bin. Some money better than no money.
It's frustrating in the app that you can't put food allergies as I'm allergic to cheese and butter. Every sandwich you buy out seems to have butter on it. Other than that a good app
I can certainly understand that would be frustrating, it's a good system but not without it's imperfections
No idont like do nuts or there slide ces or sausage rolls either the baguettes are always hard on one end as well. I call them jaw breakers 😂 but if you enjoy the food then it's good value for you and the family
Probably not the best place for you to pick a TGTG bag up from by the sounds of it - where would you like to get one from yourself?
@@GreenoEats I've never thought of getting one but I'd probably go on line and see if my local restaurant did one or Sainsbury's or Waitrose somewhere like that ilke that idea its good saves it from being thrown out

I'm not keen on their doughnuts so that would have been a disappointing bag for me! My local Greggs has stopped using TGTG and when I had a look on the app just now a couple other places I used to get from seem to have stopped as well. I still get the occasional Toby breakfast and roast dinner.
That's interesting - I have seen a couple of smaller independent outlets drop off the app round my way but not the major national companies. If anything they're putting more bags on each day, so they can spread out the leftovers between more people (and squeeze a little more money out of it I guess!)... I've not had a Toby bg for a long time - maybe I'll give them another go sometime !
Greggs videos depress me coz we don't have them here (liberty)!! and when I spent 2 years living in Ruislip west London nearly 20 years ago I got very much hooked!!

Yes, when you consider the pack of doughnuts or the ham baguette normally retail for close to that on their own then it’s a good deal!
Greggs hot chocolate is the bees knees unfortunately you didn't get one in the bag.
I don't like hot chocolate, but Little'un loves it - you recommend it huh - I would never have thought of Greggs as a place to get such a thing !

Great for the homeless who get a few quid tbh. Even though I think some places should give about to be binned food away to those who need it.
Can't say I disagree with you there Alan, the spare food could support the homeless too. I doubt they get a chance to get these bags as you need the app, which means having a smartphone. They're good for lower income families looking for a treat though.

You have to download the app called "Too Good To Go" - input your details and it will show you all the outlets in your area that use the app and have available bags. If you see something you want, and can collect within the advertised collection window then you just grab it, and take your phone to show the code when you go to collect ! It's remarkably simple.

Halal will always show it’s halal! And anyways in the uk the animal still has to be stunned. A lot of jelly sweets with beef gelatin are halal. Oh they are tasty sweets as well if you come across any. 😊
