Nice, the last truck I drove was one of these with the 480 V8 in it and Topline cab with Scania's own 14spd gearbox. Nothing on earth to touch it for driver/living comfort and power. Gearbox was awesome too. Nice catch there

I can only dream at the moment.......every heavy truck I've driven over the last 7 years have had automated transmissions. Most of them are very vague and clumsy in operation and give little or no feel to the driver. My current 2016 MAN is no exception....it's automated 12-speed transmission is awful! With a manual box it would be a totally different truck!
I dread to think what they're going to be like when they get past the experimental stage. I'm 43 so I hope it's going to be in about 50 years time.......!!!!!!!!!
That V8 and turbo sound, yum, yum! I've tried driving a MAN like the one in the video. No thanks! I would drive the Scania V8 any day and for free no less! Just the thrill of driving the V8 is enough for me.
I now have a brand new TGX500, sadly it's just as soul-less as my old 440, although there is noticeably more propulsive power. It still has a ZF ArseTronic transmission or whatever they call it now.....something like TraXon I think, but it's still a nasty clumsy unit.
