Because he was ridiculously meta already. Take a peep at the t500 leaderboards. It's ALL tracer, sojourn, and cass. Little bit of Hanzo & Widow. That's it.
@@alb791 honestly tracer being meta is like monkey being meta. It's a good version of the game. This is coming from the support player being bullied by these characters too lol. I'm not t500 though just GM.
They gave him back his flashbang which is way worse than it used to be with the stun effect, and they nerfed Fan the Hammer damage back to the period where it was trash EVEN with the stun in OW1 when everyone had 200 hp. You can unload that entire thing in an Ana with pinpoint accuracy and she won't die.
It was needed as ever since the armor rework fan the hammer and storm arrow has been destroying tanks they weren't before Which is the only reason why either are playing in t500 at the moment and cass mid game ain't change unlike most of the cast due to heath buffs
@@donovan_salgado They use him in top 500 because people who can land a headshot on every third click of a button deal a lot of damage, as they rightfully should, not because fan the hammer was good. Blizzard already knows that 45 damage per bullet is so pathetically negligible that EVEN with the stun years ago, people would opt to use left clicks. Then they increased it to 55 which might have been a bit too much and then to 50 which was exactly as it should have been.
Flashbang has been and will always be his style. The crisp flash followed up by clean dinks is (used to be) one of my favorite things about overwatch. They killed that by introducing mag nade. So dumb.
I'll never forget the dink, flash, dink, dink combo. So much damage and so reliable if you can aim. People always said FTH was his tankbusting element, but they don't realize how much reliable damage those headshots can deal.
I think it should at least interrupt abilities and *maybe* hinder a little longer at 1.5 seconds. I did the old over the head tech on a deflecting Genji and it did practically nothing to him. He still had deflect up and just dashed away. Plus, I feel like the range is much shorter than it was in OW1. I remember it having some respectable range.
I play a lot of cassidy. I like the change. The yeet it away and it connects to sth random at times or the hinder in general wasn't really good. I like that it is a close range ability now. But I think it is a bit too weak. Doesn't need to be a hardstun like initial flashbang, but it could slow a little more since it's limited to very close range and I feel like it's not doing a lot. But in general i am totally okay with it being a close range flashbang again. Just needs some fine-tuning. While all the tank mains danced in happiness from the fan the hammer change I don't think it was a huge issue, especially with the increased HP-Pool of heroes. It might be too weak now to be considered usable outside some rare situations.
Ever since they took his flashbang the first time it just aint the same. If they dont wanna bring back og flash just nip the grenade ability in the bud and give em a cool electric lasso or sumn idk
I hate new nade. it's range is to short to be useful. ots range needs to be increased, given a harsher slow, or make or interrupt more then movment abilities.
I like that instead of just being useful at all ranges at which his primary is good, this flashbang is more situational, and requires more specific circumstances, it might make him have to play smarter, play closer to cover, and sort of bait his opponents to turn a corner where he can land it on them. As for tracer/genji (and sombra) being able to stay out of its range, cass' range damage is better, so naturally he forces them to come close. And he can also use roll to close the distance. But then they can read and anticipate that and reposition/dodge. Sounds like it's much deeper now
Mccree's new flash is terrible, it's encouraging flash fan, roll, fan gameplay again. It's doesn't need homing but shouldn't explode 10 meters from his face. Increase the range, have it explode on contact, have it do minimal damage over a certain threshold.
Yeah only OW1 players will be confused by this change back to flashbang because no stun happens (me included) but newer players will only have to get used to the range limitation
I feel its better than magnetic grenade. Theres more counterplay against genji, can help teamates secure kills, and more predictable to play off of and feels less cheap when you get a kill.
In low ranks you see a lot of Cass players who really only land shots with mag grenade. Secondarily fan the hammer. It's going to make dueling low rank Cass players much easier if they are not as accurate. And just so I'm being fair, I am 100000% reliant on mag grenade. (I don't play a lot of Cass for that reason lol)
Blizzard should at least buff it so at least cancel enemy ults again. Not necessarily stun, but cancel the ult at least. I used it on a reaper ult and it it hindered him for like a second and then the ult kept going💀
it should stun for like 0.1 seconds so abilities can be cancelled again but not as long as old FB, so it cancels abilities like deflect but Fan combo wont become that easy again
The fact that I could prevent doom from escaping with the hinder is something I’m going to miss. The nano animation and and music and gameplay was superb 😂 keep it up
Honestly. Id say just bring the OG flash back. Imo this feels kinda useless overall. Somewhat helpful against tracer. Not very useful against a proper genji. Ok i guess for stopping rein charges... Not alot else imo. And the effect is way too short or non noticeable for it to be on a 12 second cooldown. If its gonna be this meh. Id say the old 8 seconds would be fine. Otherwise why not just bring back flash, keep the stun short. Just enough time for lining up one shot. Thats my take anyway, im just a plat/diamond sometimes thats played cass since ow1 season 2. I just like cowboy man either way
Actually i just read a comment on a reddit post about this. I like this guys thoughts on how to change it. So heres what he said "I think they should tweak hinder a little bit Namely, change how the slow works First, increase the duration of the slow to something like 3 seconds Then, make it completely stop them immediately (so they can't move at all) and over the next 3 seconds, they slowly regain their speed (so in 1.5 seconds, they'd be at 50% speed) This would give it a similar function to his old flashbang, of holding them still, without being a full stun"
I hate the 12 second cool down on the flashbang so much its just toooo long and it ruins the 6 motif it has no range and its not even a proper flash bang no one gets blinded!!! his damage fall off at range really threw me i didnt even know they nerfed fan the hammer i mean it was barely enough to get out high DPS but i mean 30 damage isnt too bad a shift. I like the speed shift on the ult change ive used it in games to turn corners and felt it like its so nice to be able to move and get hit less but... Too tanky? I've never had a moment as a cassidy where i felt i was safe using the ultimate cause i was tanky i always feel like my life is about to disappear in a second.
I think cas is fine rn I just wish they'd nerf sojourn/tracer for once as well as kiri and/or give something to the other supports or even tanks so it feels like you can have any impact
Kiri literally got nerved this patch, you can't cleanse hard stuns now (so anything that puts you on the ground like Reinhardt earthshatter.) Personally I think she should be able to cleanse DoTs and Anti-nade/EMP so the Suzu relies on prevention rather than negation, make the untargetable thing make sense, adds to the Ninja fantasy because now you're dodge tanking rather than healing, imo it's more skillful because it leads to more stressful situations. Because make Suzu stop soft CC but the healing/untargetable is for dodging hard CC or it's follow up.
@@devindavon6615 she did get nerved but barely only thing where the change even matters is rein shatter after it has hit with timing it's stiull avoidable, the timing is tighter which is good but that's one character. all other stuns where this change applies are so short in the first place that it doesn't make sense to use suzu on because there is basically no difference
