I was at her last concert in Belgrade. We were screaming and booing at her team to “take her off stage she needs help!!!” i was in the front row and they just didn’t care - completely ignored us then turned around & said we booed her while she was in a bad way. We tried to get the attention of her team & NO ONE cared. As a true fan, It was heartbreaking to witness, I wanted to jump up on the stage & help her.

The worst part aside from her untimely death, was how the media driven ridicule of her was terribly hurtful and after she died, that same media championed her as an icon. Why couldnt they show her that grace while she lived? Pure evil.

I used to sing her rehab song. No way was I gonna go, no way was i gonna stop using drugs. I hate that song I never sing it now. The tragedy of that song. I went to rehab clean 13 years. I loved Amy and she is missed. ❤

@@dadevi I think they meant that she sounded good no matter what. If you don't have musical training you may not notice she was getting sloppy. In fact, music is incredibly nuanced. Perfect pitch and a good rhythm sense have nothing if you can't emote in you music. She never failed at emotion.
@dadevi One point I want to make in regards to this topic is over use of ones vocal cords, and obviously the body secondaryily. There is a short going around titled "Alicia Keyes cannot sing." Not only is this claim completely false, but Alicia Keyes had professional training long before she became famous and I believe she has one of the best voices in recent history. The voice is just like any other part of the body, overuse and or abuse will greatly affect it. Not to mention the desire to use said appendage/body part. Whenever i watch a docu on her, my heart breaks all over again. I was a massive fan. She was unapologetically herself in all the times of the good, the bad & the ugly. Wish someone strong had been by her side to help her & do it properly.
She was talented. She had the entire world at her fingertips. She couldn't get over a break up with an abuser. Drugs and alcohol. Such a shame. She should still be here breaking the charts every year, still singing. She was beautiful ❤️

I'm 68 years old. And I didn't even know of her while she was alive. But I began to listen.. and since I already knew of blues and how it influenced rock and her songs. I'm so devastated at her demise...

I think there is a reason that soulful artists often have tragic life and death stories. They wear their pain like clothing and it shows in their music. The need to feel so deeply in order to havea depth in their art gradually eats away at you.
Yeah but her life wasn't really tragic until after she was famous. She had a normal childhood and became successful by her early 20s. Her problem was self medicating for her mental health issues

This woman is truly an angel. My dream since I was old enough to remember was to be a singer, but I was always terrified to sing, even alone, I’d get stage freight. I listened to her music one day after seeing a psychologist analyze her on TH-cam about 3 years ago… I swear something possessed me and I sang to her music and actually sounded good and confident for once. Then I started playing her songs at bars for karaoke and open mics to get over my stage freight. If it weren’t for her, I may have never had any hopes of being a singer. She was a lovely lady, one of a kind, absolutely stunning and ridiculously talented. We miss you Amy. Rest in Power sweet girl 😢❤
I just want to say props to whoevers making these documentaries. I have a deep love for music and this story personally hits home for me, as I lost my husband, and soulmate. I think the 27 Club is tied to drugs, but not the way people think. People’s mid twenties tends to be when severe mental illnesses start to show their ugliest sides. For example, Kurt Cobain almost certainly had some kind of manic disorder. Janice Joplin? Maybe bipolar, probably had a raging case of PTSD. Jimi Hendrix? That was actually just a freak coincidence, that whole thing was weird. Jim Morrison was probably bipolar. Amy Winehouse suspected she was bipolar as well, though I don’t know if she ever got diagnosed. When people have disorders like that, and they’re not treated, they often turn to alcohol and hard drugs. After that, it’s only a matter of time for a lot of people.
It’s kind of annoying the way they’re talking about cutting/self harm. “When she was doing self harm, that was really distasteful”. Jesus, people are so stupid and obnoxious. I personally am not a person who cuts themselves but I have quite a few friends who went through it and are likely still struggling with it. Dan Wooton is unfortunately one of the nastiest people in UK media. The way he spoke down about the newspaper that published the crack photos is also really hypocritical, because he's not remotely above tearing people down himself. But he didn't like it one bit when people went public with stories of him catfishing them for nudes. A gay immigrant who is happy to work for a hard-right TV station. His hypocrisy knows no end of there's a paycheck involved.

I watched the movie that just came out about her and idk who allowed them to make it, but, it wasn’t at all how I thought it would be. It’s like her ex husband painted himself as a “good” guy and Amy as the druggie. It was crazy.
I met her when she played at store in Birmingham U.K city square. She was so sweet . I had never heard of her , i was visiting from USA and my future sister in law had me come along. This was back in 2004 I also remember some snotty teens cracking jokes like "who does she think she is Alicia Keys?" In that accent 🙄 ignorance. RIP

I am an addict. Ive been to treatment facility myself. Members of my family have been to treatment. This might sound cold and uncaring, but Amy killed HERSELF. Throughout this documentary everyone is searching for who or what killed Amy Winehouse. Who or what is to blame for her checking out of rehab, writing a song mocking going to rehab, getting the chance to receive topnotch treatment at many points in her life, but choosing not to. Choosing to get back into a relationship that fueled her addiction? Amy did that. She for whatever reason didn't want to be well. Her family, Blake or the record company is not to blame for her suicide
They're not to blame but they definitely did not help her! Amy was crying out for help and her dad said she didn't need rehab. She took her dad's advice and did not go to rehab

Putting any type of blame on the father for what he said at one point in her life, like that takes away Amy's own responsibility to get help is just extremely unfair to her father. It's obvious he wanted her to get better and stood by her for years. In my opinion as a recovering addict myself, Amy was constantly looking for reasons to get back to the drugs, back to Blake and back to her eating disorder. Sometimes people are just not ready for recovery and will seek out the destruction in their lives because that is something they are used to, and they're not ready for change. Amy was a grown woman who made choices herself that ultimately led to her death, that's not on her father or anyone else.
Seems that people try to blame everyone but Amy. She said no to rehab! She may have been with toxic people. At the end of the day, she made bad choices. It's a sad story, and I hope others learn from her tragedy.

When she made all of those phone calls all that tells me is she was ready to let go... She may have been at the end of her rope still trying her best but usually when people have been depressed for that long and then seem to turn around out of nowhere a lot of the time it's because they've already accepted their own fate and are at terms with letting go.
Amy is the only celebrity whose death I’ve ever cried over. And I’ve never seen anyone’s looks change so drastically due to addiction. And what a unique and special physical beauty she had. She also expressed her sexuality without being vulgar and gross about it. For example, when I heard Another singer’s hit, “W.A.P.” I just thought, wow. This how low we are, now. Amy’s lyrics were crude, at times, but in a way that’s appropriate in conveying the raw emotion expressed in her lyrics. I wish her family would have tried to get her declared incompetent, a danger to herself, something. Anything, to save her from herself. It’s so tragic. We miss you so much. The world is a dimmer, sadder place without you.

That's how Layne Staley (from Alice in Chains) was for me. I still remember hearing on the radio that he'd finally died. I had hoped he would get it together. I still ended up an addict myself, but it's been 65 months today since I used. Nutshell was probably the best Alice in Chains song.

It was so obvious on her last gig, that Amy was crying out for someone to help her, and take her off the stage. Instead her dumb backing singer laughed, as she stumbled and fell! That guy should have picked her up, and took her off stage to sleep and get medical assistance. Amy was an AMAZING TALENT, who unfortunately pressed the self-destruct button, and became too dependent on drink and drugs, which ultimately took her life. RIP 🙏🏽💜
Sadly Amy's story was written long before she met Blake and although the characters may change the story stays the same . It was very clear that Amy had heard emotions she couldn't understand or deal with so whether it was Blake or another man sadly Amy would have still ran down the same path . ❤

A high percentage of young people get to a point where they decide they take too many class A's and drink a lot, at least for a while.. I think it's a pretty common phase the youth go through, although perhaps this current generation is exceptionally clean?! - my point is Amy was no more into drugs than the next person - difference being she was hounded by paparazzi round the clock, and look how fame brings issues we don't face, like how her daft hubby couldn't resist selling her out to the tabloids for some easy money. I happened to be going in the same 24hr offy in Hackney at 2a.m.when Amy turned up for supplies.. She was being followed by a caravan of 4 or 5 carloads of big loudmouth blokes asking dumb personal questions with cameras a flashing.. They blocked the junction! , I couldn't help starting a little casual chat I smiled at Amy and said something boring like " how on earth do you put up with them lot" she was nice, her big beautiful smile she replied "yeargh! You SORT Of get used to it" I felt empathy and sympathy and a little protective she looked so minute with a giant aura- the two clinking blue bags of bottles almost clunking the floor..! I wish I'd said "can I come to your party" , she had such a nice way about her, I could tell she was okay about me, and quite liked the easy way we was chatting together. I could have been a supportive friend, enjoyed some krak n Smak leisure times but ultimately known when to reign it in and done nature walks, picnics, Epping forest bat detecting and moth collecting surveys, nocturnal forays to pass a lonely night or 10.. Away from the paps gaze.. I understand that desire to get out of one reality into another.. Feeling something different is what's attractive to us.. It doesn't HAVE TO BE by living dangerously.. Strong drink needs regular liver breaks and plenty of drugs need the user to keep changing things up and so avoid getting stuck with a new brain biochemistry that tries to replace your natural pathways to feelings like joy with their own version of meshing with you that may trick you into turning off your own pleasure systems as surplus to requirements. People who have been there and don't get ruled by substances are rare.. They ARE a lot of fun though and not everyone dies.. The popular opinion is nobody wins nobody gets out alive.. If that were true, they wouldn't be as ubiquitous.. would they?.. Anyway sensual sensitive sensational Amy was special source of light in a dark world NOT the other way around as I am sick of hearing.. Troubled Amy?... Troubles are all around me.
It's frightening being in the woods at night except in a large group. Epping Forest frightened me during the day time let alone at night. It's where East End gangs often sorted out their differences, and killed their victims. It has a pall over the local area including Buckhurst Hill and Loughton. Respectable people don't want to live near it only people with a lot of money but who lack class. Other wooded places give me the creeps such as the Chilterns and West Wycombe near High Wycombe and Plymouth Woods near Cardiff. If you took the same places and villages and reconstructed them elsewhere they would look beautiful but being there gives me empty feelings.
Amy Winehouse will FOREVER live on, just like Marilyn Monroe. I wish I had the chance to see her in concert, but I guess watching her videos will have to do. she was so talented and really inspired me as an artist. For some reason what really broke me down in this doc was the mention of her cutting habit. I cried.
The industry did not kill her. She actually had alot of creative control over her music, she dressed as she wished & wrote what she pleased. She was broken inside, had an addiction, and then fate brought her into a parasitic relationship.

Way too sad and tragic that Amy died so young at the age of 27…..but drugs and alcohol will do that to a person without getting immediate help. And the tragic thing is that human beings do not learn to stop the vicious circle that they are trapped in, and when they do, it is already too late. She was self-destructively. That excessive alcohol drinking she had did an irreparable damage to the organs inside her body especially the liver. A very sad case indeed. The fact that this person influenced or at very least was present and didn't stop Amy from taking that 1st hit and then when he needed money he'd go and sell stories to those vultures about her intimate details has got to be thee most horrifically dark corners of one of the scariest, saddest tragedies I've endured through in a very long time.
Addiction is a disease. A majority of people who succumb to it are never able to get out. Once an addict always an addict. One thing that was said, when you have an addictive nature you are always addicted to something and it might not be drugs. I understand. I am an addict. I was ( still am at age 70 ) a musician, singer, songwriter. Drugs destroyed my health and I battle that every day. But Amy was in too deep and she knew it. She knew she was dying. We dont blame someone if they have cancer and this was her cancer. She will be remembered like all the others who died too young. Their flame burned like a raging fire until it consumed them.

Not only is this claim completely false, but Alicia Keyes had professional training long before she became famous and I believe she has one of the best voices in recent history. The voice is just like any other part of the body, overuse and or abuse will greatly affect it. Not to mention the desire to use said appendage/body part. This woman is truly an angel. My dream since I was old enough to remember was to be a singer, but I was always terrified to sing, even alone, I’d get stage freight. I listened to her music one day after seeing a psychologist analyze her on TH-cam about 3 years ago… I swear something possessed me and I sang to her music and actually sounded good and confident for once. Then I started playing her songs at bars for karaoke and open mics to get over my stage freight. If it weren’t for her, I may have never had any hopes of being a singer. She was a lovely lady, one of a kind, absolutely stunning and ridiculously talented. We miss you Amy. Rest in Power sweet girl 😢❤

I think the 27 Club is tied to drugs, but not the way people think. People’s mid twenties tends to be when severe mental illnesses start to show their ugliest sides. For example, Kurt Cobain almost certainly had some kind of manic disorder. Janice Joplin? Maybe bipolar, probably had a raging case of PTSD. Jimi Hendrix? That was actually just a freak coincidence, that whole thing was weird. Jim Morrison was probably bipolar. Amy Winehouse suspected she was bipolar as well, though I don’t know if she ever got diagnosed.
When people have disorders like that, and they’re not treated, they often turn to alcohol and hard drugs. After that, it’s only a matter of time for a lot of people.

I met her when she played at store in Birmingham U.K city square. She was so sweet . I had never heard of her , i was visiting from USA and my future sister in law had me come along. I'll never understand what she saw in that rodent Blake. I mean he wasn't particularly handsome or funny or anything like that let's be honest, she was in love with him way more than he was with her and that just baffles me as to what was the attraction.

Throughout this documentary everyone is searching for who or what killed Amy Winehouse. Who or what is to blame for her checking out of rehab, writing a song mocking going to rehab, getting the chance to receive topnotch treatment at many points in her life, but choosing not to.
Choosing to get back into a relationship that fueled her addiction?
Amy did that.
She for whatever reason didn't want to be well.
Her family, Blake or the record company is not to blame for her suicide

Putting any type of blame on the father for what he said at one point in her life, like that takes away Amy's own responsibility to get help is just extremely unfair to her father. It's obvious he wanted her to get better and stood by her for years.
In my opinion as a recovering addict myself, Amy was constantly looking for reasons to get back to the drugs, back to Blake and back to her eating disorder. Sometimes people are just not ready for recovery and will seek out the destruction in their lives because that is something they are used to, and they're not ready for change.
Amy was a grown woman who made choices herself that ultimately led to her death, that's not on her father or anyone else.

A high percentage of young people get to a point where they decide they take too many class A's and drink a lot, at least for a while.. I think it's a pretty common phase the youth go through, although perhaps this current generation is exceptionally clean?! - my point is Amy was no more into drugs than the next person - difference being she was hounded by paparazzi round the clock, and look how fame brings issues we don't face, like how her daft hubby couldn't resist selling her out to the tabloids for some easy money. I happened to be going in the same 24hr offy in Hackney at 2a.m.when Amy turned up for supplies.. She was being followed by a caravan of 4 or 5 carloads of big loudmouth blokes asking dumb personal questions with cameras a flashing.. They blocked the junction! , I couldn't help starting a little casual chat I smiled at Amy and said something boring like " how on earth do you put up with them lot" she was nice, her big beautiful smile she replied "yeargh! You SORT Of get used to it" I felt empathy and sympathy and a little protective she looked so minute with a giant aura- the two clinking blue bags of bottles almost clunking the floor..! I wish I'd said "can I come to your party" , she had such a nice way about her, I could tell she was okay about me, and quite liked the easy way we was chatting together. I could have been a supportive friend, enjoyed some krak n Smak leisure times but ultimately known when to reign it in and done nature walks, picnics, Epping forest bat detecting and moth collecting surveys, nocturnal forays to pass a lonely night or 10.. Away from the paps gaze.. I understand that desire to get out of one reality into another.. Feeling something different is what's attractive to us.. It doesn't HAVE TO BE by living dangerously.. Strong drink needs regular liver breaks and plenty of drugs need the user to keep changing things up and so avoid getting stuck with a new brain biochemistry that tries to replace your natural pathways to feelings like joy with their own version of meshing with you that may trick you into turning off your own pleasure systems as surplus to requirements.
People who have been there and don't get ruled by substances are rare.. They ARE a lot of fun though and not everyone dies.. The popular opinion is nobody wins nobody gets out alive.. If that were true, they wouldn't be as ubiquitous.. would they?.. Anyway sensual sensitive sensational Amy was special source of light in a dark world NOT the other way around as I am sick of hearing.. Troubled Amy?... Troubles are all around me.
It's frightening being in the woods at night except in a large group. Epping Forest frightened me during the day time let alone at night. It's where East End gangs often sorted out their differences, and killed their victims. It has a pall over the local area including Buckhurst Hill and Loughton. Respectable people don't want to live near it only people with a lot of money but who lack class. Other wooded places give me the creeps such as the Chilterns and West Wycombe near High Wycombe and Plymouth Woods near Cardiff. If you took the same places and villages and reconstructed them elsewhere they would look beautiful but being there gives me empty feelings.
Amy Winehouse will FOREVER live on, just like Marilyn Monroe. I wish I had the chance to see her in concert, but I guess watching her videos will have to do.

The industry did not kill her. She actually had alot of creative control over her music, she dressed as she wished & wrote what she pleased. She was broken inside, had an addiction, and then fate brought her into a parasitic relationship.

Amy Winehouse had a toxic relationship with Blake. They were not soulmates as people say, they were not right for each other, period. She and Blake were too dependent on each other. .
Way too sad and tragic that Amy died so young at the age of 27…..but drugs and alcohol will do that to a person without getting immediate help. And the tragic thing is that human beings do not learn to stop the vicious circle that they are trapped in, and when they do, it is already too late. She was self-destructively. That excessive alcohol drinking she had did an irreparable damage to the organs inside her body especially the liver. A very sad case indeed.

Addiction is a disease. A majority of people who succumb to it are never able to get out. Once an addict always an addict. One thing that was said, when you have an addictive nature you are always addicted to something and it might not be drugs. I understand. I am an addict. I was ( still am at age 70 ) a musician, singer, songwriter. Drugs destroyed my health and I battle that every day. But Amy was in too deep and she knew it. She knew she was dying. We dont blame someone if they have cancer and this was her cancer. She will be remembered like all the others who died too young. Their flame burned like a raging fire until it consumed them.
