To me, The Mall actually makes a lot more sense now. At first, hearing the version used sounded more like somewhere related to a train station, or something of the sort. Hearing the original, with it having sounds matching to an escalator, and what sounded like a person coughing(?), it sounded more like a mall atmosphere. Well, a super empty mall, but that's where it get the nice aesthetic to it, adds more to the atmosphere of the location.
Wow. I remember once, trying to recreate Mars-San's theme, but then I realized all of the notes were off key. Didn't know they were actually slowed down. Brilliant! This game is amazing
Good video. I really like that such small differences in tempo can change the atmosphere completely. This feature in RPG Maker is really fun to mess around. Also, I think I prefer the original Pink Sea theme.
Wow, thanks for this. I always admired how Yume Nikki incorporated songs in different areas and at different speeds to capture different moods, but I didn't pick up on half of the times it did it! And how did I not realize sooner that the reason many of the tracks sound the way they do is because they've been slowed down?? Again, thanks, this is kind of an eye opener!
Original Candle World seems so foreign and alien even though it's just slightly different- Same with Forest World, Ghost World, and Number World I kinda like the original for Number World
Huh... the original Numbers World seems to give off a feeling that the place actually represents time, and the end of all things... Like ominous bell tower music and all that... Creepy. :p
The interesting thing is that because you don't have instant contact with the songs with changed and normal tempo, you really don't notice immediately the similarities between they, very clever
@zesterery No, again I was making a joke, yume nikki is a big insperstion for toby so im sire it was just his insperation, I was just saying stealing to make my comment more humorous

no way, kikiyama invented vaporwave's subgenre - mallsoft!
The Pink Sea at it's original tempo trips me out because it feels like something I've heard before, but I cannot pinpoint when or where
Original number world is pretty harsh, no idea how I would feel if that one has been used instead o.o
Same 0_0
For me, the original Numbers World sounds too cheery to be used as that world's BGM 😆😂
The Mall Rooftop song.
*r o o f t o p*
*...the yume 2kki r o o f t o p?*
what do u mean
Holy shit the Numbers world non-slowed is terrifying. The Famicom screen, however, is ballin'.
in fact, the final version seems more terrifying to me
I never realised that aztec rave monkey and teleport maze were the same!!
Lesson of the story,
Slowing things down make them sound better.
the caretaker : ikr
so does speeding them up
Yume Nikki predicted slowed and reverb versions of songs?

i think the used one fits way more with the game and the aesthetic of Pink Sea, it's very ethereal and dreamy

I never noticed this while playing, cool to see how messing with the tempos can give a completely different feeling to different areas.

theres a lot of similar sounds in the fc world, when you speak with the npc's here, they make the stoplight sound at 0.5x speed
FC world?
the famicon world
Ah cheers. Which NPCs there, the village-dwellers? There are quite a good amount of characters there
Pirori in the barracks also do the same sounds as when you open and close the menu at 50% speed
Just finished Yume nikki and it's really great to see those similarities
Thanks for uploading this, I really like how KIKIYAMA utilized this feature of RPG Maker!

Yume 2kki OST similarities- part 382
@@reas0 I think so
thankfully the game points out all the similarities for you in the sound room, but you're still going to have to spend 200 hours on it at minimu--
Huh... the original Numbers World seems to give off a feeling that the place actually represents time, and the end of all things... Like ominous bell tower music and all that... Creepy. :p
This applies to sounds too! The little arcade machine dude in the neon room has a similar sound to Seccom Masada-sensei.
Mall Stairway is giving me a stomachache
the pink sea (50tempo) reminds me of mars-san's theme (100tempo)
i never noticed a single one of these!
Unused pink sea is a bop
There’s one with the block ost and the a removed event with the removed event with a lower tempo.
According to the wiki, in 0.04, the removed event had the Eyeball world music.
Just an interesting fact
This is how Toby fox made Undertale music
Someone just posted a videos about this after years

Original Pink Sea is sort of relaxing and comforting for me, of course the tempo changes it to a more eerie and mysterious aura.
Amazing, just by changing the tempo and pitch they became different music and I had never noticed
The interesting thing is that because you don't have instant contact with the songs with changed and normal tempo, you really don't notice immediately the similarities between they, very clever
listen closely to the music in one of the FC locations, it sounds similar to the end music
I've been going through the yume 2kki soundtrack files lately and now I understand how they changed the pitch/playback rate! Very cool feature

When you put uboa and the guillotine room, I'm pretty sure it's the other way around

The most obvious one is probably the Neon Path one
Theres something about the forest world track that reminds me of some of the shrine bells in some Buddhist temples
7:55 sounds similar to Red Body from the soundtrack of .flow (a Yume Nikki Fangame)
The original tempo of the pink sea ost makes me panic for some reason
Hearing Shield Folk World OST now only makes me think of the Mr. Incredible becomes Uncanny memes lol
