What’s funnier is I saw an interview with the actor who plays “Asian Jim” and apparently this was such a small bit to him he eventually forgot he filmed it so years later when he’d get randomly referred to as “Asian Jim” he assumed it was someone kind of racist slur and was getting offended by it until someone else reminded him he played this bit 😂

I've had this stunt pulled on me before except they pretended like the previous night where we hung out didn't happen. The key to selling a stunt like this is to not react. If everyone just kind of treats the situation as normal for long enough, the victim starts to disassociate and become more compliant to the suggestions. You start forgetting your own memories and your brain starts trying to explain the inconsistent memories away. Having one person not playing along gives you enough psychological cliff to hang on to to prevent this disassociation. They were likely in on the gag albeit not active participants. As someone who has been the victim, it is a really cruel prank to pull. Fortunately, I had friends who were able to give me enough corroborative evidence of my absence for me to piece together what happened and the people pulling the prank came clean. Were it not for both of those things, I don't think I ever would have figured it out. That's how incredibly it messes with your mind.

@@RoboVenturer in that interview he says he'd be walking down the street and hear someone yell "Asian Jim". Since he had forgotten his role completely, he wasn't sure if it was a slur. Not enough time to establish full context.
