    Alright Calaveras...
Fasten your belts, because today we are going to take you into a real roller coster, the OH555 aka The Triple Nickel.
The OH555 goes from Zanesville, OH to Little Hocking, OH covering approximately 62 miles of winding and twisty curves.
But the best part is that this road is not alone in the area. The Triple Nickel is one of the Ohio's Windy 9 routes, all around the area of Athens, OH. You can check all the routes, and even request for a printed map (and patch!) here: www.windy9.com...
We also want to give special thanks to the people behind Ohio's Windy 9 (Visit Athens County Office):
    Joel Prince, Creative Director
    Boone Troyer, Executive Director
They both were so welcoming, so charming, and they even rode with us taking some pictures, one of them used for the thumbnail of this clip
    Saludos siempre en Vs.

There are many great rides around SE Ohio. Living 15 minutes allows me the opportunity to ride 555 a few times a year. You could spend a week down here riding. It would be time well spent. Nice to see Harleys doing more than cruising. Love the music and the FF bits.

I live in SE Ohio, not too far from the southern point of RT 555. There are many prettier roads in this area. One of my favorites is St RT 124 from downtown Pomeory following the beautiful Ohio River through river towns like Syracuse, Racine, Portland, Long Bottm, Reedsville, and finally Hockingport. This road just below Long Bottom sometimes is just a few feet from the Ohio River on one side and a road ciff going up on the other side. There is also a nice overlook below Long Bottom. I have a friend in this area who owns around 75 motorcycles, mostly old BSA'a and Triumphs. Afew years ago almost every man in Reedsville owned and rode motorcycles. Reed's Country store is in Reedsville and is amust stop. A few years ago you vould buy just about anything there. From harfware, groceries, deli, lawn mowing equipment, car tires, just about anything.
There are other beautiful roads in SE Ohio, like St RT 374 in Hocking County which is another of my favorites. I also like the area just east of Nelsonville through Buchtel, Murry City, New Straightsville, Shawnee, and up to New Lexington.
St RT 13 from just north of Athens to Zanesville is a very nice motorcycle road and when in Zanesville Tom'S Ice Cream Bowl is a must stop. Great place to eat, also has ice cream, hot cashews, delious chocolates. It is locared just north of the "Y" bridge in Zanesville on McIntrye St.
Back to Hocking Hills region there is Big Pine road which is in a valley between the hills and begins just west of Logan and ends just east of Laurelville.
St RT 78 goes from Nelsonville clear to the Ohio River way up stream, but I usually stop in MeConnleville and ride down to Marietta on St Rt 60 and then St Rt 7 back home. Sometimes I ride St RT 13 from Athens to Zanesville then jump over to St RT 60 to Marietta before going down St Rt 7. It;s a little longer ride, but it is nice all the way.
If you ever make it back to SE Ohio I hope you ride some of these roads. I think you will really enjoy them.
Ride safe and enjoy every journey.

I just road that last week it was crazy fun. But you have to have your Witts its like riding a roller coaster. When you get to a hump you're not sure if the road will go right or left . Very technical not for a novice rider.I have been riding 30 years and a former motorcycle instructor I will be posting my video in a couple of weeks .

Yes! We mentioned that! A roller coaster… and we said 4/5 in technical skills… can’t wait to see your video. 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼

Don't forget about rts 78/93/56/83 an 550 to name a few more, a good place to stay is also BURR OAK LODGE, an for food JIMBO'S BURGERS AND BEER, in South Bloomingville.

You are totally right! I believe we mentioned, or maybe not, but 78 was literally with brand new fresh asphalt and it was smooth as hell! We loved it A LOT! Let’s see if we can go in 2024 and document the “other routes” in the area! It’s called windy9 because there are 9 “main ones”… 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼

@@USAonHarley it's ok if you ride like you have some sense. I've rode it by myself once and several times with a guy I ride with that said I was crazy to ride it after dark until he rode it after dark and seen how much fun it is. Besides you get to see those little towns and villages after dark. Just give it a try. If you want you can hit me up and I'll ride it with you if you're afraid of the rumors that it's haunted

Like so many other people I kept seeing this route in Roadrunner magazine, so while I no longer ride a motorcycle due to my age I drove it in my Shelby convertible a couple of years ago. To be honest I didn't like it, too many blind crests for me. The crests are so bad that we had friends right behind us and they completely lost sight of us as we went over. Everyone has their own acceptable risk envelope but for me it seemed too dangerous, it would be too easy to find a hazard right over a crest that you would be unable to avoid. Who knows, maybe as you get older you worry more but that's my opinion, as they say YMMV. One way or another stay safe out there.

    • @USAonHarley
      @USAonHarley  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You are not wrong! So many crests, and that was one of the selling points to us and one of the things we found more attractive in this route…Obviously this has risks implicit, but you need to be aware of your limits and your risk assessment… So happy you enjoyed it on the Shelby (our dream car) and happy you liked the video. See you down the road! 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼
